Measuring the impacts of SPP on sustainable development – Green

Economy and market changes Example of case study:

• Through SPP practices in tire management, the Institute of Electricity of Costa Rica has achieved overall annual cost savings of 20%. Transport costs have decreased by a factor of 4, resulting in a reduction in emissions of 953 teq CO2

between 2008 and 2010.

• The co-processing methods used for the end-of-life of tyres have prevented 206.6 tonnes of waste, while increasing energy efficiency by 15.6%.
