Useful information for IPv4 transfers• The party/parties in the APNIC region must hold an APNIC account
⎯ Check the APNIC whois and member list⎯ If in doubt, contact APNIC Helpdesk
• Be aware of the needs base transfer policy⎯ The recipient in the APNIC region is recommended to submit a ”pre-approval”⎯ Provide the same justification as if requesting IPv4 from APNIC
• For inter RIR transfers, currently with ARIN and RIPE only⎯ The source should initiate a transfer request to its RIR
• Transfer fee applies⎯ For transfers within APNIC region, the recipient pays⎯ For inter RIR transfers, the APNIC account holder pays⎯ 20% of the annual fee for the IPv4 transferred
APNIC transfer support• Listing service
⎯ Help to reach potential recipients⎯ www.apnic.net/pre-approval-listing
• Transfer mailing list⎯ [email protected]
• IPv4 broker listing⎯ https://www.apnic.net/manage-ip/manage-resources/transfer-
resources/transfer-facilitators/
Transfer activities• Transfer trend has been stable since 2014, around 30-40
transfers processed monthly• Most market transfer activities are within the APNIC region • Most inter RIR market transfers are coming in from ARIN region,
started in 2013. Transfers from RIPE region started in 2016• As of July 2018, around 17.8 millions IPv4 addresses are
transferred in vs 384,000 addresses are transferred out of the APNIC region
• All transfers on last /8 with less than 5 years holding are prohibited
