Update on PostStorm Services Provided at The Scarborough Hospital SCARBOROUGH (December 24, 2013) – Despite the storm this weekend, The Scarborough Hospital (TSH) has had no power outages and at this time, there is power at both campuses and at all six of its satellite sites. Power was restored to 78 Corporate Drive this morning, and patients can continue to receive dialysis treatment at this location. Patients on home dialysis who do not have power, can receive treatment at the hospital’s General campus. TSH’s Emergency Departments remain open for those requiring emergency care. As a reminder, we continue to encourage everyone to consider alternate care services for nonemergency needs, such as family doctors, walkin clinics and Telehealth Ontario. Backup generators are on standby and ready to go should TSH experience any power outages going forward. Below is an updated list of area warming centres for those who remain without power and require shelter. There are three in the Scarborough area that are currently open: Malvern Community Centre (Open 24 hours) Services: 89 cots, hot meals, shower and blankets. 30 Sewells Rd, (Neilson/Rd/Finch) 4163964054 Agincourt Recreation Centre (Open 24 hours) Services: 100 cots, food, shelter, blankets, microwave and showers. Residents are asked to bring their own towels and toiletries. 31 Glen Walford Rd (Sheppard/Midland) 4163964037 McGregor Park Community Centre (Open 24 hours) Services: Heat, outlets, no beds, showers and intermittent food. 2231 Lawrence Ave. E. (Lawrence/Birchmount) 4163964023 TSH continues to recognize the exemplary service provided by its staff and physicians during the storm and into today ensuring seamless and excellent patient care.
