Stage 2 Update
Here’s how it works for an example Solar Thermal Quote:
Quote Cost = £5,463 RHPP Grant = £700Calculated energy saving = 2151 kWh per year
RHI Calculation2151 x 17.3p RHI = £372 p.a.372 x 20 years = £7,442.47,442.4 - 700 = £6,742.46,742 / 7 years = £963.2 annual payments for 7 years.
How the numbers stack up....
Cost of system = £5463.36Community Discount = £700Cost saving per year (assuming 4 p/kWh gas) = 2151 x 0.04 = £86RHI Payment per year = £963.2 Cost of system = £5463.36 - £700 = £4,763.36Total revenue over 7 years = (963.2 + 86) x 7 = £7,344
Payback in 4.5 years. Extra earnings over 7 years = (7,344 - 4,763) £2,581 (not including energy prices rises).
How the numbers stack up....
