Mark & Leanne Hansard InterVaristy- Kansas
For many years, the Hansard family attended our church while Mark worked at UC Irvine leading small groups for students and professors through InterVarsity. This summer
they relocated to Manhattan, Kansas where Mark will focus on starting a faculty ministry on the campus of Kansas State University. Most of their attention is set on settling into their new home and gearing up for the semester to begin at Kansas State. They are thankful to God for the blessings they received in the transition. Their house here in California sold, and they bought a great house northwest Manhattan which is conveniently located right across from the kids’ school. Another blessing is that Mark only has a 7-minute commute to campus giving him the option to be home quickly when needed. Their daughters, Savannah and Annabelle, started their first public school experience last week. Savannah is starting 5th grade and Annabelle is starting 2nd grade. Please pray for their transition from homeschool to full-time classes. Also pray that they would find new friends among their new peers. Emily, who is four, will be doing pre-school at home with Leanne. Mark has also been busy meeting with faculty this summer to invite them to the new small groups on campus this Fall. Classes at Kansas State start on August 24 and he would appreciate prayers for two new small groups that they are starting for faculty. One of the groups is a reading group for faculty to integrate their faith and work. The other group is a Bible study group focused on issues academics face. Please pray for Mark as he gets to know the campus climate at K-State, and for wisdom in starting these groups. Also, please pray for Mark as he travels to other campuses in Northern Kansas & Nebraska to assess starting faculty groups there. Pray for the Hansard family as they continue to make this new transition for their family and work. If you would like to send the Hansards a note or would like their contact information, please send an e-mail to [email protected].
Welcome- If you are a guest today we thank you for coming. We would
appreciate it if you would complete a yellow card from the pew rack. As our guest, please do not feel obligated to put something in the offering.
