Hello Families,I hope everyone had a restful break. Looks like someone forgot to tell Mother Nature that it’s spring! Even though it is officially spring, the weather hasn’t cooperated so please continue to monitor the weather and dress your children accordingly. We are in our last quarter of the school year and I’m looking forward to finishing strong. We have some fun field trips and activities planned for the last two months of school, so please continue to check your child’s folder and our website evergreen.k12.wi.us under the calendar section. Our 3rd-7th graders are testing this month and need to be reminded to get extra sleep and good meals so they are prepared for testing.April’s theme is INTEGRITY. A favorite poster of mine that hangs on a wall of EverGeen says, “Integrity is doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.” We are working hard, as a school, to talk about what it means to have integrity. I encourage families to talk with each other and go over situations in which integrity is being shown. I believe integrity to be the most important quality to have as a person.Thank you, again, for all your support as parents and guardians. Here’s to a great month of April. Don’t forget to read every night and report the minutes to your teacher. Let’s get me ON THAT ROOF!!!Principal Meier
We are on our way to seeing Principal Meier on the roof. We’ve Earned 26 bricks so far….totaling 519,428 Minutes of reading done!

1st Grade
Mrs. Maier’s 1st Grade class worked very hard on their projects over the month of March. They did research, and wrote a paragraph about an animal. They also created dioramas that shows the animal, habitat and food source.
Awesome Job Mrs. Maier’s and her 1st grade friends.
Ms. Longo’s 4K
PK4 had a special guest visit: Ms. Danielle and her puppet friend Luci. She works at a dentist office here in Racine. She came in to talk to us about how to brush our teeth as well as what are good foods and bad foods for our teeth. Thank you Ms. Danielle for reminding us how to brush and when to brush!
Mr. Labarre’s 7th Grade
7th grade has just finished studying "How new species form". We made dioramas and wrote articles that explained how a new species formed. We just finished up our unit on geometry, surface area and volume of 3d shapes.
Next, we are learning about viruses and bacteria in science. In math, we are already onto Data and Statistics, discussing populations and random samples.
Student Council News
Student council sold hot cocoa this winter and with a donation from the PTO put that money into planning and preparing our first school dance. The dance was held in March, just before spring break and we made enough money from admission, pictures, and sale of masks to contribute money to each class for Camp Timberlee later in April! Our thanks to the parents, teachers and volunteers who made this event so successful!
Our final project of the year will be to plan for the lock in overnight for the Lathrop building later this spring.
