Go Dawgs!Gooo Dawgs! Annual Georgia Club Pep Rally at the Georgia Club! Hairy Dawg made his yearly appearance at the Georgia Club to kick off the UGA football season. It’s looking

to be one great season for the Bulldogs.

Undercover Member

Have you ever just thought about what all you can do at the Georgia Club? This all started the other day

when a friend of mine recently moved to Athens and now that his family is settled, he is in the market to join a

‘country club’ environment. Of course, I was caught off guard when he asked me what The Georgia Club has to offer, so I did a little research and reviewed some emails and monthly newsletters

and this is some of what I found.

We are just finishing up a summer full of things to do. This summer we had

camps for the kids, pool activities and our second year of fielding a

community swim team. There were junior golf clinics as well as junior tennis camps. There are ample opportunities

to participate in golf tournaments for all ages and of course our Fourth of July Extravaganza. As fall approaches, we jump on the UGA football bandwagon

with our UGA Pep Rally.

our high school graduates, and recognize our staff.

You have the opportunity to ‘give back’ by getting involved with The Georgia Club Foundation whose sole purpose

is to raise awareness and funds for those in need in the Athens/Clarke

County area.

All of this is available to families for a very competitive cost whether it is

a full or social membership. Now I am wondering how our membership has

not grown more in the last 24 months!

Cloverleaf of the Month

Jordan Hill has been a wonderful addition to our food and beverage

team. He is always willing to come in to help on his days off if we need him. He

tends bar during the lunch and does a wonderful job taking care of our mem-

bers. We appreciate his hard work!

James Criswell has been an employee in my department since April. He has been more than I could have asked for in an employee. James is a very fast learner and wants to do the job

correctly. He gets along with his team and will do any task you ask him to do

for our team. He never wastes time and will find something to do when he has completed a job task. I am grateful for him to award him the Cloverleaf award

for the month of October.

This fall we will have a chance to participate in art workshops and cook-

ing classes while all along there are bridge groups and monthly new

member orientations and receptions.

Just to make sure we have our family membership involved on

weekend evenings, we have our Little Dawghouse so our parents can enjoy dinner knowing their kids are being taken care of close by (which was a

huge plus for my friend). And speaking of dinner, our food staff does a pretty

good job of changing up the menu and providing something for everyone whether it is a little fine dining or just

a good meal at a very fair price so you don’t have to compete with other eating

establishments ‘off campus.’

We like to do it up right here at the Georgia Club during the holidays. The decorating starts with Halloween and culminates with the Holiday Party and our annual Tour of Homes. We ring in the New Year with the New Year’s Eve

Dinner celebration.

We have trivia nights, pickleball, fitness classes, 24-hour access to our fitness center, the MGA, LGA, Fall and Spring

golf leagues, wine tastings and dinners, seasonal menu changes, live music

on selected weekend evenings in the lounge, mother/son and father daughter events, we celebrate
