Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Tuesday, October 12, and Thursday, October 14 from 4:30 to7:30. We encourage Zoom based or telephone conferences. If you prefer to meet in person, please let yourchild’s teachers know. Teachers and School Counselors have been sending out information and invites toParent Teacher Conferences. Fall Conference Night Staff Dinner DonationsThe Creekview PTO will be providing dinner for the staff on each conference night in October (Tues.,10/12 & Thurs., 10/14) and could use your help to donate some of the supplies needed. Creekview MusicalCreekview's Musical is BACK, and they're ready to build a snowman and make some snow angels with thisyear's production: Disney's Frozen Kids! Auditions will be held on Wednesday, October 20th for 6th gradestudents, as well as Thursday, October 21st for all 5th grade students. The students will learn a dance, song,and read a piece of the script at the audition, so no prior prep is necessary. Students MUST bring the auditionform WITH them to the audition, signed, completed, and prepared with a way home at 7:00pm on the night oftheir audition. If a student is needed for a callback, those will take place on Friday,October 22nd. Cast list will be posted on Unified Classroom in the "events" section by6:00pm on Friday, October 22nd. Family Tech Night, in partnership with Marysville Police, Thursday,October 21st @ 6:30 p.m. via ZOOM, in recognition of October asBullying Preventions and Cybersecurity Awareness month. CreekviewPTO is sponsoring this Family Tech Talk Night with Marysville Police, togive parents and students great information and resources for gooddigital citizenship and how to make smart, safe, and kind choicesonline. Oct. 29: Bully Prevention Poster Contest Posters Are Due!

Did you know October is bully prevention month?Poster Requirements:

1. Positive anti-bullying message2. Artwork must be original3. Use standard poster board (available at Meijer, WalMart, Dollar Tree, etc)4. Name, grade and homeroom on BACK of poster (one person per poster)

Due Date: October 291. Give the poster to a student council representative2. You may turn it in early3. Posters will be displayed the week of Nov. 1st4. Winners will be announced Friday, Nov. 5th

Judges will look for the following:1. Positive anti-bullying message clearly displayed2. Creativity3. Original artwork

Oct. 29: Student Costume Day @ Creekview Intermediate

Student Halloween Costume Expectations

In an effort to enjoy and celebrate Halloween at Creekview Intermediateappropriately, respectfully, and in accordance with school rules, we ask thatstudents use the following guidelines when selecting a costume:

1) No head coverings unless it is part of the costume, NO Costume masks or FULL face paint. Staffmembers must be able to identify students.

2) Costumes that are provocative, revealing, sexual in nature, or employ questionable props are notpermitted.

3) Costumes that depict violence, alcohol, or drugs are not permitted. Fake weapons are not allowed.

4) Costumes that could be offensive or perpetuate a stereotype of someone’s culture, gender, heritage,or religion are not permitted.

5) Costumes should not hinder your ability to participate in your classes, including P.E. Costumes may notdisrupt or impede traffic, or present issues of safety in the hallway.

If you have any questions regarding the appropriateness of your costume idea, we encourage you tospeak to your teachers.

Talking points for teachers and parents to assist in this teachable moment.

● Remind students of their audience in the building (students, teachers, parents, communitymembers,)

● This is a school—what may be appropriate in pop culture or the media may not be appropriate for aplace of learning.

● We are a community, and we want students to think about how their costume choices may impactothers within this community.

Thank you for taking the time to help our students understand these guidelines.

Oct. 30: Uptown Marysville “Scarysville” / 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

The streets of Uptown “Scarysville” come alive with Halloween fun! Kids can weartheir costumes and visit Uptown merchants for candy and other goodies. The cityasks that trick-or-treaters wear protective face masks and practice socialdistancing. This event is sponsored by the Historic Marysville Business DistrictAssociation.

Oct. 31: City of Marysville TRICK-or-TREAT / 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

The city of Marysville will hold Trick-or-Treat onSunday, October 31 from 6-8 p.m.

Nov. 3: Picture Retake Day

Student Fall picture packets have been sent home with students.

If you wish to have your student's picture taken or re-taken on Wednesday, November 3, please followinstructions for one of the option choices below:

Option 1) If your student had their picture taken in September and you are not satisfied with the pictures;please indicate the reason by writing a note on the original picture packet. The picture packet needs to bereturned to Creekview on picture retake day. The photographer will retake the photo and process your orderfor the same package you initially requested.

Option 2) If your student was never photographed due to an absence and you wish to purchase a picturepacket, you may order by going to my.lifetouch.com and using Picture Day ID: EVTMGNRFK or you mayrequest a student picture order form from the Creekview Office. Completed hard copy order forms should besent with your student on picture retake day.

Virtual Academy and Blended Learning Students:Students learning remotely through the MEVSD Virtual Academy or Blended Learning, are invited tocome to Creekview to have their fall photo taken or retaken onWednesday, November 3, from 12:15-12:45 p.m. (Please do not arrive at the building prior to12:15 p.m.)

Please NOTE: Even if you do not wish to purchase a picture packet, please consider havingyour student’s photo taken, as fall pictures will appear in the 2021-22 yearbook.

We ask that students please wear a mask as they arrive at Creekview for their fall picture. Studentsshould ring the front door bell to gain entrance. They will be escorted to the gym to have their phototaken and exit the building when finished. We ask that parents please wait for their child outside thebuilding, as it should only take a few minutes for their student to have a photo taken.

Main Agenda Items: Team Spotlights for 5th Grade Yellow & 6th Grade Yellow Teams

The PTO will be spotlighting 2 teams at each of our PTO meetings! When it’s their turn each team will give abrief presentation at the PTO meeting that answers the question: “Why/How is your team so awesome?” Thisis a great opportunity for students and teachers to let parents know what their team is doing that adds toCreekview’s awesome-ness! Here’s the Team Spotlight schedule:

Jan. 13 - 5 Orange & 6 OrangeFeb. 17 - 5 Purple & 6 Purple Mar. 17 - 5 Green & 6 Green

Each of the PTO Meetings are at 4:30pm via ZOOM (PTO meetings will be held via Zoom sessions until furthernotice). In the event school is cancelled on the assigned day, affected team spotlights will be moved to theApril 7th PTO meeting. We’re so proud of our students and teachers, and can’t wait to see what they come upwith!

Daylight saving time 2021 in Ohio ends at 2:00 AM on Sunday, November 7.Don’t forget to set your clocks back an hour on Saturday night, Nov. 6.
