FORMED pick of the week Go to holyspiritfremont.formed.org, or go to our homepage at holyspiritfremont.org and click the link to be taken to FORMED. Our pick of the week will be on the top of the Community page. We will celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe on the 12th. A good preparation to participate in the feast is to watch the movie 1531, the story that is not finished yet. It tells the story of the apparitions of Our Lady of Guadalupe at Tepeyac Hill near the City of Mexico. It is the best movie about the apparitions, factual and well pre-sented. When I watched it, I learned a lot of material infor-mation that most people do not know about Our Lady, the Em-press of the Americas, and her message to all of us, peoples of these lands (from Canada to Chile and Argentina) without ex-ception. Enjoy! - Dn. Rigo

During the season of Advent, we wait. The Messiah is on His way and John the Baptist starts to announce His coming in the Rosary’s second Joyous Mystery, the Visitation when he jumps in his mother’s (St Elizabeth) womb upon Mother Mary coming to support her cousin who is in the third term of her pregnancy. In today’s Gospel, John continues what he started in his mother’s womb and begins announcing the public appearance of this Messiah of God. We need to heed his advice and be attentive, prayerful, reflective. We need to discern what is it that this Messiah brings us. We must listen to His Good News of redemption and after discerning on them we need to start acting them out.

We must witness, preparing His way, straightening paths for others to be able to come to praise and worship with us. We must inspire others to know and believe that the promise includes everybody working to make His presence real to everyone. It is good that we have an excellent model to do this in His Mother, Mary. We can take up her FIAT, her YES, to the call of The LORD and try as best we can mirror her humility, her dedication to her Son. In this Season of Advent, let us dedicate to the cause by praying, reflecting, meditating, discerning what is it that The LORD wants us to do for Him. Let us come together as a community of faith to praise and worship, then serve Him and His Mission by adding our own efforts as Mary did, actively yet humbly, totally, and completely abandoning to His Will. In Jesus’ name.
