Where wild things…

Visiting remote areas allows me to sit, take in the surroundings, absorbing a sense of place free from the confines of urban constructed environments. There is a big difference to the way I feel in suburban Darwin to these remote landscapes, which makes me question what is missing from my everyday life and what are the impacts of living in a landscape that is not allowed a sense of its own identity.

This exhibition is supported by 24HR Art – NT Centre for Contemporary Art, Jodie Wilson is the recipient of the 2006 Charles Darwin University (CDU) Graduate Prize which assists a Visual Arts graduate to hold a solo exhibition of new work at DVAA the following year.
