vanThe soul of the Odyssey is its ability to go with the flow. Its incredible versatility

means it’s down for just about any adventure. It also features sleek, ultra-modern

looks, loads of high-tech goodies and a sporty feel usually

absent in this category. And dig this: once again, the Odyssey is

Car and Driver’s pick for Best Van in their “5Best” Trucks list.1

The 2009 Odyssey makes it more clear than ever: The van is back.

DVD screeninch

The available Honda DVD Entertainment System’s wide screen enables movies to be played with their in-theater format.

Lightweight wireless headphones feature Personal Surround and turn on and off with a simple twist.

With a faceplate that doubles as a pop-out remote control, rear passengers can play a movie or enjoy other entertainment options without disturbing the driver.

Standard on the LX is a 120-watt AM/FM/CD system. The EX model adds 2 additional speakers and a 6-disc in-dash CD changer.

Bluetooth® 5 HandsFreeLink® technology on navigation-equipped models lets you make and receive calls hands-free through your compatible cell phone.

Odyssey audio systems play MP3- and Windows Media® Audio4 (WMA)-compatible CDs. There’s even an auxiliary input jack.

Odyssey Touring models feature a 360-watt premium audio system with 7 speakers, including a subwoofer.

EX-L and Touring models come with XM® Radio,3 giving you over 170 digital-quality channels to choose from.

and harmonypeace, love

With so many entertainment options,

The miles pass by more quickly when you give passengers something to

do with their time. The Honda DVD Entertainment System – available on

EX-L and standard on Touring – lets rear passengers enjoy a movie or even

a video game by connecting their game system to the vehicle’s rear

audio/video inputs. When DVD-equipped, a 115-volt outlet in the 3rd row

lets you plug in your video-game console, laptop or other electronics.

Power features include both side doors and 8-way driver’s seat on EX and above. EX-L adds a 4-way passenger seat, while Touring includes memory-linked side mirrors with reverse-gear tilt-down.

The conversation mirror in most models gives the driver and front passenger a view of the entire cabin. It also doubles as a flip-down sunglasses holder.

Page 9: untitled

The Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System™ 6 with voice recognition (available on EX-L, standard on Touring) links to 7 million points of interest* and Zagat Survey® 7 ratings and reviews.

The Odyssey’s large power moonroof on EX-L and Touring models features a tilt function as well as an air diffuser to let air circulate inside the cabin without causing too much turbulence.

The Odyssey’s tri-zone automatic climate control system, standard on EX and above, lets driver, front passenger and rear passengers select their very own comfort zones.

With the touch of a button, the navigation system’s 8-inch touch screen flips down to give you access to the audio system’s 6-disc in-dash CD changer.

*Some roads unverified. See the navigation system owner’s manual for more details on coverage.

Page 10: untitled

EX-L and Touring models feature a remote power tailgate that gives you even easier access to the Odyssey’s cavernous interior.

With the 2nd-row seats removed and the 3rd-row Magic Seat® folded into the floor, the Odyssey offers up 147 cubic feet of flat-floor cargo area.*

The deep well behind the 60/40 split-folding 3rd row gives you plenty of cargo space, even when you’re loaded up with passengers.

Odyssey EX-L shown with Ivory Leather and available Honda DVD Rear Entertainment System.

*Honda reminds you to properly secure items stored in the cargo area.

Ingenious storage options abound, giving you plenty of places to stash your goods. These include in-floor storage, a unique dual glove compartment and up to 15 beverage holders. The 2nd row’s PlusOne Seat,™ on EX and above, flips up for additional under-seat storage.

It can be truly mind-blowing how many interior configurations the

Odyssey is capable of. Passengers, cargo, or any combination of

the two are easily accommodated in this highly versatile vehicle.

Most models have seating for eight, thanks to a removable

2nd-row PlusOne Seat. The two deeply padded, full-size 2nd-row

captain’s chairs can push together, pull apart and slide forward for

easy 3rd-row access. The 60/40 split 3rd-row Magic Seat folds flat in

one easy motion – without having the head restraints removed. In

addition, the Odyssey’s thoughtful design gives you plenty of

legroom and elbow room (even in the 3rd row), easy child-seat

access and a low step-in height.

Page 11: untitled

Odyssey EX-L shown in Dark Cherry Pearl.

It’s got the moves to help you

get on downthe road.

Take a few curves and you might forget that you’re driving a vehicle that can seat up to eight.

With its rack-and-pinion steering, independent suspension, including double wishbones in back,

and powerful 4-wheel disc brakes, you’ll be the envy of the carpool lane. And its sophisticated

Drive-by-Wire™ throttle system and 5-speed automatic transmission help make sure the Odyssey’s

considerable power is always flowing smoothly.

Page 12: untitled

Odyssey EX-L shown in Ocean Mist Metallic.

In the case of the Odyssey, it comes in the form of a 3.5-liter V-6 capable of

generating 244 hp while also giving you great fuel economy8 and low emissions.

EX-L and Touring models also feature Honda’s Variable Cylinder Management™

(VCM®) system that sends mpg numbers into family sedan territory.

Innovative technology ensures plenty of

power to the pavement.

Page 13: untitled

3 4

The 2009 Odyssey EX-L and Touring models feature the latest-generation

Variable Cylinder Management technology. Powered by the intelligence of

i-VTEC,® VCM quickly and seamlessly activates or deactivates certain engine

cylinders, depending on the driver’s demands. The result is great fuel

economy,8 power when you need it, including a 3,500-lb towing capacity,9

and an Ultra-Low-Emission Vehicle (ULEV-2) rating.

During steady cruising, the Odyssey’s V-6 shuts down the entire rear bank of cylinders. An Active Noise Cancellation™ (ANC) system helps control engine noise.

When cruising speeds climb, the engine moves from 3-cylinder to 4-cylinder mode. The transitions between all modes are nearly seamless.

When maximum torque is required – such as when you’re merging onto a freeway or climbing a hill – all 6 cylinders are firing to deliver the engine’s full power.

The idea that you shouldn’t have to pay extra to feel safe is a core Honda belief. It has led us to incorporate

advanced safety technologies into every one of our vehicles. The Odyssey is a rolling showcase of this

philosophy with standard safety features such as anti-lock braking (ABS), Vehicle Stability Assist™ (VSA®)

with traction control, Tire Pressure Monitoring System10 (TPMS), active front head restraints, which are

designed to help lessen the potential for neck injuries during rear-end collisions, and the Lower Anchors

and Tethers for Children (LATCH) system. The Odyssey has also received 5-star ratings from the National

Highway Traffic Safety Administration for both frontal- and side-impact crash tests.*

On models equipped with navigation, the screen doubles as a full-color rearview camera display, giving you a clear view of the area directly behind the vehicle when you shift into reverse. EX-Lmodels without navigation show the image on a camera display located in the rearview mirror.

The Odyssey’s Advanced CompatibilityEngineering™ (ACE™) body structure makes it more crash-compatible in frontal impacts with vehicles of differing bumper heights.

Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) can helpdetect oversteer or understeer, tohelp restore the driver’s intended path.

The Odyssey’s impressive line of defense includes dual-stage, dual-threshold front airbags that can vary their deployment based on collision severity and seat-belt usage, front side airbags with passenger-side Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS), and 3-row side curtain airbags with a rollover sensor.†

Front airbags inflate and deflate in a fraction of a second.

future,“We only have one

– Soichiro Honda

and it will be made of our dreams.”

A dream is a view of the world not as it is, but as it could be. For 60 years, Honda

has encouraged its associates to aim beyond what is currently possible. All for the purpose of

progressing human mobility. This spirit has resulted in advances in environmental technology,

like the hydrogen fuel cell FCX Clarity, that brings us closer to a future filled with blue skies. It guides us as we

strive to exceed government safety regulations and has led to industry-changing innovations on the ground,

in the water, and, with the HondaJet,™ in the air. And it pushes us to use premier race circuits as testing

grounds for our ideas. Moving forward, our minds are open to new ideas, no matter where they come

from. Because you never know what will be until you discover what can be. dreams.honda.com
