Workshop on Moot Court based on Contract-I on 27.3.2015
If good lawyering skills are essential for an advocate then mooting during law course is the greatest asset that a law student can
inculcate, for achieving the above-stated object, IMS Law College conducted Workshop on “Importance of Moot Court Trial during Law
Course” for all B.A;LL.B students on March , 27, 2015 at Moot Court Room.
Workshop was conducted to hone the oratory and presentation skills of the students. Ms. Sumaiya Nausheen and Mr. Rajat Kapoor
(B.A; LL.B X semester students) who were the winner at NCR Moot Court Competition, shared their vast experience, guided the students
skills of mooting and how to prepare good memorials.
To mark the end of this fruitful day, Mr. Sudhakaran and Mr. Inderjeet Santoshi (Faculty of Law) who organized this workshop, also
exhorted the students to participate in moot court during their law course. They emphasized the importance of moot court which
ultimately not only helpful for future budding lawyers but all round developments of the students in their respective life. The workshop
was supervised under the guidance of Dr. Niti Sinha (HOD, Law College).
World Consumer Rights Day celebrated on 20th March 2015
Students of IMS Consumer Club in association with Consumers Forum, Delhi observed the “World Consumer Rights Day” on March 20,
2015, with an objective to spread the Consumerism, with great fervour and enthusiasm. The function was graced by many dignitaries
from consumers forum, dignitaries who were present on the occasion were Mr. Alok Aggrawal, Vice President Consumer Forum and
Advisor, Captain Sagar Das Gupta, Secretary Consumer Forum, Col. Thakur, Vice President Consumer Forum, Mr. Khan, Member
Consumer Forum, and Mrs. Kuchachal Executive Member Consumer Forum who voiced for bringing an improvement in the ingredients
of human consumption products whether be it fast food or junk food since people cannot avoid fast food items so easily, so the way out is
to make the same food, life-sustaining not tummy-terminating.
Welcome address was delivered by Dr. Niti Sinha HOD - Law, who enlightened the audience regarding consumer’s rights and
blindsides of junk foods affecting human health.
The events rolled out with NUKKAD NATAK satirizing the prevalent “Life-Threatening Food Culture” presented by the students of Law
and Journalism under the guidance of Ms. Neha Singh (Law-Faculty) and Mr. Anand Pahariya (HOD-SJMC). It was followed by the
Presentation Competition on “Healthy food vs. Junk food” under the mentorship of Mr. Inderjeet Santoshi and Mr. Sudhakaran (Law
Faculty). In the last leg of the celebrations, a Debate Competition on “Should Junk Food be Banned in Educational Institutions” was
organized under the co-ordination of Ms. Anjum Hassan and Ms. Punam Kumari Bhagat (Law Faculty).
The winners were awarded with trophies and cash prize. Sumaiya Nauseen secured the first place in the presentation competition,
Shivaan Tomar was the runner up, whereas Anmol Singh won the debate competition, and Abhishek Bhardwaj took second place. At
last vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Govind Prasad Goyal.
Induction Programme
Orientation session plays a very important part as it provides required thrust to the students in the new session. Orientation program was
conducted on February 23, 2015 to guide the existing (B.A; LL.B, II, IV, VI, VIII, X Semester) students. The programme commenced with
the welcome address by Dr. Niti Sinha HoD Law with the statement that learning is absolute involvement and complete commitment from
both - the teacher & the taught . Besides Academic Activities, Students will be parting in Legal Aid camps in the rural areas serving the
poor and weaker sections of the society. students will use their potential by involving themselves in academic, career-building & creative
activities. She also told students that lots of changes had been made in the co-curricular activities such as formation of different
committees and clubs and insisted to the students for taking part and they should improve their oratory and written skills and put extra
efforts for making their session dynamic and vibrant. A vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Govind Prasad Goyal. The event was
anchored by Ms. Avani Verma and Mr. Kashish Acharya. The Program was coordinated by all faculty members.

Human rights day is the worldwide observance celebrated by the people all across the world to get the real rights for the human beings.
This day is celebrated to improve the physical, social, cultural and spiritual well being and welfare of the vulnerable group of people
globally.

Keeping in the above-state objective IMS Law College organized poster competition on the topics “Human Rights of the survivors and
its progenitors with reference to Bhopal Gas Tragedy”, “Wastage disposal system under right to life” and “Parking on the Public Place
Creating the Traffic Mess" on 10.12.2014. The competition began with the introductory address of human rights day celebrated on
every year 10th December by Dr. Niti Sinha (HOD, Law College). Divya Malyan and Shristhi Agrawal (B.A.,LL.B I Semester) secured
first prize, Adityendra Singh and Richa Pandey (B.A,LL.B V Semester) were runner up in the competition. At the end of the competition
Dr. Kamaljit singh Anand (Executive Director, IMS Noida) addressed to the students that themes are related to the man made calamity
and people should protect their environment from the harmful chemical and handling the problem. The competition was coordinated by
Mr. Sudhakaran, Ms Nabeela Aqeel and Ms. Neha Singh (Law Faculty.
Legal Awareness held on 05.12.2014
“Right To Information Act-Its Awareness qnd Pertainant Loopholes : Master Key To Good Governance”
On the 5th of December, 2014 students and Law Faculty of IMS Law College, Noida visited Bharat National Public School, Delhi. The
intention of the visit was to enlighten the school children and their esteemed teachers with the helpful contents of Right to Information Act,
2005. Students in the group of two went to different sections and present their presentation.
The programme was initiated by Swati Chakravorty, Madhu, Kashish, Manpreet, Vansh & Simardeep. Ms Surabhi Guleria (Faculty of
Law) briefed the listeners about the Act followed by Ms Neha Singh gave a brief introduction on how to file an application under the
Act. Under the guidance and unstinted support of HOD-Law Dr. Niti Sinha, the Legal Awareness programme was coordinated by Ms
Neha Singh and Ms. Surabhi Guleria.
Conference by Higher Education Academy for Development (HEAD)
IMS Law College, Noida participated in a Conference conducted by HEAD on “ROLE OF HIGHER EDUCATION IN DEVELOPING
INDIA” on 26th February 2015 at India International Centre, New Delhi. This conference was attended by Dr Niti Sinha (HOD Law)
Neha Singh (Faculty Law) & Law Students (Sonam Kumari, Shalini Singh, Reena Chauhan, Manish Chaudhary, Shivani Walia, Ishita
Kholi) from IMS Law College, Noida.
HEAD is being established as unique and truly would be global university for creating the master faculty, guides and mentors in all fields
of lifelong learning. This conference indicated the women empowerment by inviting all the women key note speakers. Dr Niti Sinha,
(HOD, IMS Law College) being a keynote speaker delivered her thoughts on “Present Status of Legal Education & Pedagogy of Law
Teaching in India”. Technical session was followed by the question answer session in which the key note speakers not only gave the
answer but also suggested some points which should be send to education ministry as recommendations to develop the higher
education.
Law College participation in 5th Corporate Law Officers’ Summit 2015
IMS Law College, Noida participated in 5th Corporate Law Officers’ summit on “Global Perpective: Recent Trends In Judicial Reforms”
on 21st February 2015 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. . IMS NOIDA acted as an academic partner to this 5TH Corporate Legal
Officers’ Summit. This conference was attended by Ms Neha Singh (Faculty Law) and Ms. Nabeela Aqeel (Faculty Law) & Law
Students (Ankit Dixit, Prakeet Sharma, Mukul Goel, Nikhil Garg, Renu Beniwal) from IMS Law College, Noida.

4th International Conference on “Emerging Innovation in Social Media and Its Implications”
4th International Conference on Social Media was organized by IMS Law College, Noida in joint collaboration with IMS-NOIDA on
13-14 March 2015. The topic for discussion was Emerging Innovations in Social Media and its Implications.
Seminar Hall was packed to Capacity. Various delegates & International students were present. The programme of Inaugural Session
commenced with lighting of traditional lamp by Guests before Goddess Saraswati. A Bharatanatyam performance seeking blessings
from Lord Ganesha & Goddess Saraswati was presented by two girl students (Kritika & Raveena, BJMC, which left the audience &
spectators dumb struck).
Dr. Singh threw light on the topic of Conference, motive behind it. Guests & audience were thrilled to know that it comprised all the four
arms of Institution viz. Information Technology as biggest enabler, Journalism & Communication as mode of expression, Management
as evangelizer and Law as Environment Protector.
