Dear Friends of UNM,
I a m honor ed to have been chosen to lead the University of New Mexico as its 20th president, and I am encouraged by the generosity I have seen from our closest supporters.
While it has only been four months, I have seen much to be proud of at UNM. Last academic year, the University awarded approximately 2,960 undergraduate degrees, 1,110 master’s degrees, 292 professional degrees and 186 doctorate degrees. This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our outstanding faculty and students. The Health Sciences Center broke ground on the new Cancer Center in May and then turned around and opened the Bill and Barbara Richardson Pavilion, which houses the state’s only Level I Trauma Center, in June.
None of these accomplishments could have been possible without the tireless work of our development team and the generous support of our closest friends. All totaled, the University was able to raise $72.5 million this year, more than $11 million over our goal.
Thanks to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the University will be working to improve health policy in New Mexico through the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Center for Health Policy. The University will also be in the business of attracting distinguished history faculty members and supporting teaching, research and publication by existing faculty with the
help of the William H. and Marjorie Bell Chambers Endowed Award for Excellence in History. These are just two examples of the ways foundations and committed alumni are connecting with the University. There are many more examples of generosity demonstrated during this past year’s fund raising, some of which are highlighted in this report.
Lastly, I want to tell you how excited we are to have our students back on campus. We welcomed our new freshmen with their fresh ideas and academic enthusiasm; started off the football season with a great home win against our in-state rivals from NMSU; and this month we will begin our basketball season with our new coach, Steve Alford.
This is an exciting time at the University of New Mexico, and I invite each of you to come connect with the University as we continue to build on the legacy of excellence that is UNM.
Thank you for your continued support of your state’s flagship university.
Sincerely,
David J. Schmidly2 0 th P re s i d e nt o f the Unive r s i t y o f Ne w Me x i c o

I n aca de m ic y e a r 2 0 06 -2 0 07, the UNM Foundation raised more than $72 million in gifts from 19,500 donors—both new records. These gifts represent an increase of more than $24 million over last year’s record total.
We are privileged to help connect your philanthropic wishes with causes that provide tangible results, benefiting not only our University, but often, the state, nation and world, as well. Your gifts support a wide variety of areas, such as scholarships and fellowships, initiatives for engaging students as problem-solvers in our communities, faculty professorships and chairs, and medical equipment for UNM Hospital.
Important work remains to be done. UNM’s new president, Dr. David J. Schmidly, has collaborated with UNM stakeholders—including faculty, students, staff, alumni, community leaders and donors—to establish UNM’s vision for the 21st century. This vision, simply put, is to attain the level of excellence to count UNM among the top academic and research universities. This goal will be achieved by meeting established benchmarks, providing unparalleled, exceptional education and health care.
In working to achieve this vision, we must create opportunities and innovation for our students and faculty, build resources, enhance our research and advance the activities that will propel this University to reach its fullest potential. By connecting the work of our strong team with your generosity, UNM will realize its vision, as articulated by President Schmidly.
Every day UNM’s more than 32,000 students receive the benefit of your generous donations. These students will become teachers, engineers, health care providers, artists, business professionals and community leaders. Students are our future. Your donations provide the gift of an education, which in turn changes the lives of students and patients, offering promise for the future.
Thanks to you, the UNM Foundation provides the financial support to improve the lives of the people who are the University of New Mexico.
Sincerely,

During the fiscal year 2006-2007, the University of New Mexico received $72.6 million in private support, exceeding the projected fund-raising goal for the eighth straight year. More than 19,750 loyal supporters as well as new donors made this outstanding achievement possible, thereby continuing our strong fund-raising momentum. Private support includes all gifts made or pledged to the UNM Foundation and those gifts made directly to UNM’s schools, colleges, departments and programs. Whether you’re an alumnus or friend of UNM or a representative of a corporation or a foundation, you help build on great progress at the University of New Mexico. Thank you for your generosity!

The University of New Mexico Board of Regents has delegated authority to the UNM Foundation Investment Committee to act as the official “advisory committee” to oversee and manage the combined endowment assets of the University and the Foundation. The investment committee follows guidelines set forth in the Consolidated Investment Fund Endowment Investment Management Policy approved by the UNM Board of Regents and the UNM Foundation Board. The endowment assets of the University and the Foundation are combined for investment purposes and operated as a unitized pool known as the Consolidated Investment Fund (CIF). The philosophy of the investment policy is structured around the concept of complementary managers that are responsible for specific asset categories and management styles in a fully diversified portfolio.
At June 30, 2007, the market value of the CIF was approximately $323 million, up from approximately $266 million at June 30, 2006 based on the following performance:
Performance was led once again by the international equity markets with a very strong return of 35.9 percent while U.S. equities returned 20.7 percent, fixed income returned 3.3 percent and the hedge fund portfolio returning 18.6 percent. The real assets that were added to the portfolio returned 12.5 percent while the allocations to private equity are still too new to assess performance. In addition to the customary investment management expenses, an administrative allocation equivalent to 0.98 percent of the market value is allocated from each participating fund in the CIF.

Recognizing the need to provide a steady and reasonably predictable stream of income while protecting the real value of the principal of the endowment, the University and the Foundation have established a spending policy based on a 12 quarter moving average and a distribution rate in the range of 4 percent to 6 percent. For the year that ended June 30, 2007, the spending distribution target rate was set at 4.65 percent which provided more than $12.3 million to the beneficiary schools, colleges and programs.

Connecting Cultures through Health
Care Policy
Robert Wood
Johnson Foundation
Grants UNM $18.1 Million for National Center
I m agi n e that the newest perspective in the
national debate over health policy comes from those who stand the most to gain from quality health care: minorities, Hispanics and Native Americans in particular. Now imagine those people are UNM students.
With the help of an $18.1 million grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF), this
scenario could become reality within five years. The grant will establish a center for health policy
at UNM that will prepare minority doctoral students for leadership in health policy through recruitment, retention and stimulating academic programs. The center will also conduct independent
research on how current health policy
affects minority populations and
spotlight these issues in national conferences and workshops.
“When it comes to health, one size does not fit all,” says RWJF President and CEO Risa Lavisso-Mourey. “We need to nurture and support a new generation of health policy leaders with diverse perspectives.”

A ser ious auto accident followed by a long hospital stay. It’s an experience most people wouldn’t care to remember. But Geoffrey S.M. Hedrick did, and his memory of the excellent care that University of New Mexico Hospital (UNMH) provided him 40 years ago was so indelible that he expressed his gratitude with one of the largest gifts from an individual that UNM has ever received.
Hedrick has made a successful career as an avionics executive and entrepreneur. Technology is his passion, and he wanted to make a gift that utilized technology to advance patient care. He decided to fund the purchase of a new dual head multi-slice computed tomography (CT) scanner for the UNMH Trauma Center.
The gift will help UNMH significantly improve its diagnostic abilities. “It will help us do what would have taken years to do otherwise,” says Steve McKernan, CEO of UNMH. “It’s really going to make a significant difference in patient care.”

UNM Professor’s Gift Matched By Wife’s Employer
Presidential Scholarship Connects Aspiring Astrophysicist to Education
“ Withou t my Presidential Scholarship, I would feel like one of the crowd,” says Stefanie Gallegos, senior astrophysics major. While she enjoys gaining job experience, the merit-based scholarship keeps her focused on academics. Gallegos is the first recipient of the Sewa Singh and Jaswant Kaur Memorial Presidential Scholarship, endowed by UNM Physics and Astronomy Professor Dr. Harjit Ahluwalia and his wife, Manjit.
Ahluwalia was inspired by UNM Regent Don Chalmers’ scholarship banquet speech, “Pay It Forward,” based on a movie about a boy who thinks we can improve the world if everyone who receives help from a stranger in turn helps another. Ahluwalia thought, “This might be a very good way of memorializing my parents’ contribution to my upbringing.” Matching gifts from his wife’s employer, Sandia National Laboratories-Lockheed Martin, helped fund the endowment.
Next for Gallegos: graduate school. Ahluwalia says, “She’s a serious student and we were very particular that this scholarship go to a minority female student in the area of physics and astronomy.”

Connecting Fine Arts and the Film Industry
Mesa del Sol Developer Endows UNM Film and Media Arts Professorship
L ast spr i ng a gift from Forest City Covington, master developer of the Mesa del Sol planned community in Albuquerque, boosted the development of a multidisciplinary film and digital media program at UNM.
The Mesa del Sol Endowed Professorship in Film and Digital Media helps the University recruit top talent to the new program, which began this fall. The groundbreaking program fosters communication and collaboration across disciplines ranging from fine arts and architecture to business, engineering and arts and sciences.
The program’s objectives include integrating film and digital media, helping build a local movie industry, providing locals with the education and training to work in the new industry, and fostering research. A commissioned report suggests that students with skills developed by the program will hold greater potential for sustainable, high-paying jobs in the state.
“Forest City provided exactly the kind of confirmation we need that we’re heading in the right direction,” says Dr. Christopher Mead, dean of the College of Fine Arts. “There’s no better way to get a program off and running.”
Read more at www.unm.edu/ foundation/mesadelsol.
Harrison Marcus (far right), stage manager for Albuquerque Studios, leads a tour for UNM students of the new film production facility this past summer. Of the planned production complex, the studios are the first buildings to be completed at the Mesa del Sol planned community in southeast Albuquerque.
The tour’s high point, literally, is up in the “perm” of one of the studios—55 feet from the ground floor—where movie makers may hang sets or conduct special effects processes for their productions.

I n 12 y e a rs of volunteer fund raising for the Lobo Club, one UNM alumna and longtime Lobo fan has brought in more than $1 million for student athletic scholarships.
Yvonne Moise calls on fans and ticket holders to join the Lobo Club, which funds athletic scholarships. She explains the benefits to students, and the perks for donors—especially the convenient parking. As fans learn more about the Lobo Club, they grow determined to support athletes. “Our goal is to raise enough money that we can fully fund what the NCAA allows for every sport,” says Moise, a former Lobo cheerleader.
“To me, the front porch of any university is its athletics department,” she says. “Students pick schools based on what they’ve heard about them, and a lot of that is through athletics. I’ve wanted UNM to excel not only as far as academics, but also to be competitive in athletics.”

Leaving a Lasting Legacy
Longtime University Architect Funds Professorship in Wife’s Memory
R eti r ed already 20 years, Van Dorn Hooker hasn’t slowed down. The longtime University architect works on his third book daily, drives to campus from his Corrales home weekly, and just endowed the first visiting professorship at UNM’s School of Architecture and Planning in the name of his late wife, Peggy.
Both accomplished architects, the couple met as students at the University of Texas at Austin, graduating in 1947. Hooker later worked for noted architect John Gaw Meem and was in private practice in Santa Fe before landing the UNM job in 1963. Hooker is also a gifted painter and photographer, and Peggy’s talents included dancing and music—she played violin with the Santa Fe Symphony during the couple’s capital city years.
The Hookers’ generosity will have an enduring impact by attracting top teaching talent to the school for years to come. And, it comes on the heels of their endowed gifts to UNM that will benefit the architecture school and the University Archives. “Having these visiting professors will greatly enrich the architecture program and its design instruction,” says Roger Schluntz, dean of the school.

“I f I wou ldn’t have had anybody to talk to, to cry to, or scream with, I probably would have had a breakdown,” says Cathy Landavazo of her breast cancer ordeal. Help came from the College of Education’s Comadre a Comadre Program, funded in 2006-2007 by the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the McCune Charitable Foundation.
Founded in 2002, the program provides support, information and resources on breast health and breast cancer to Hispanic/Latina women by pairing newly diagnosed women with cancer survivors who share their culture. The resulting
friendships help navigate cancer treatment, overcoming barriers that contribute to poor health outcomes, like transportation problems, language obstacles and confusing hospital systems.
Landavazo says Hispanic women tend not to discuss their problems, not wanting to worry anyone. “Even if you feel terrible, you say ‘I’m OK.’ I got beyond that because of the Comadre program. As women come into the program, they want to know what you went through.”

I n 1974 , Marjorie Bell Chambers was an odd duck in the academic pond. Forty-three, married, and a mother of four, she wanted a Ph.D. in history. Universities were not very receptive to postgraduate female students then, and UNM’s history department contained no women in its faculty or doctoral student body.
But UNM took a chance on Marjorie. She went on to achieve prominence in higher education, government and international relations. To express their appreciation to UNM, Marjorie and William (Bill) Chambers established the William H. and Marjorie Bell Chambers Endowed Award for Excellence in History.
The endowment will assist in attracting distinguished history faculty members and supporting teaching, research and publication by existing faculty. The first recipient is Professor Ferenc Szasz, a highly respected teacher with research interests in religion in the western United States and the Scots who settled North America.
Marjorie died in 2006 at age 83.

How to Establish an Endowed Fund
an endowed fund is a gift that lasts in perpetuity. It continues to provide support to the University in the areas of the donor’s interest. Endowed funds may support scholarships, the general needs of the University or any school, college or program within the University.
Donors may fully fund an endowment with a one-time lump-sum gift; fund it over a three-year pledge period or through a bequest or other deferred gift.
In addition to cash, endowed funds can be established through any gift vehicle recognized by the UNM Foundation, including gifts of securities or real property, by pooled gifts of friends, with memorial contributions or through continuing
gifts to endowment accounts. Donors may help develop guidelines for how their endowments are to be governed and used.
For information on establishing an endowed fund, contact any college or school development officer (see page 40) or the UNM Foundation office, (505) 277-4503, www.unm.edu/foundation.

The Popejoy Society honors UNM’s leadership donors. Named for one of the University’s most beloved presidents, the late Tom L. Popejoy, who served as UNM president from 1948 to 1968, the Popejoy Society recognizes cumulative giving to the University.
Since the Popejoy Society was established in 1980, threshold gift levels have risen as the University’s needs have
grown. Still, membership in the Popejoy Society is lifelong. Today, UNM extends membership to individuals and couples whose giving has reached or exceeded $50,000.
For more information concerning the Popejoy Society, please contact Rich Grainger at (505) 277-9077 or [email protected].

UNM’s Annual FundR epr esen ti ng th e loya lt y
of more than 10,000 donors every year, the UNM Annual Fund is an integral part of the University’s overall fund-raising efforts. With its shared goals of encouraging alumni participation and increasing annual unrestricted giving, the Annual Fund draws upon a pool of alumni and friends to provide UNM with a strong foundation of financial support for our students, faculty and programs.
More than a just a collection of gifts, the Annual Fund is a catalyst for turning individual generosity into a collective energy. It represents the dynamic interaction of people working together to achieve great things at UNM.
Rest assured that the combined gifts of the individuals who support the Annual Fund have a lasting impact on the lives of the many students who have walked the UNM campus. With your continued support, the Annual Fund will remain a steadfast resource of tremendous financial value for many years to come. Thank you!
Presidential Scholarship Program
Th e Pr esi den ti a l S chol a rsh ip Progr a m’s (PSP) goal is to keep the state’s best students in New Mexico. Presidential Scholarships are awarded to New Mexico high school seniors based on a minimum 3.5 grade point average (GPA), class rank, college board scores, personal essays, leadership and community involvement. Scholars have varied ethnic backgrounds and come to UNM from communities across the state.
Each year nearly 150 incoming UNM freshmen receive Presidential Scholarships. The scholarships are renewable for eight consecutive semesters as long as the recipient maintains program standards of a 3.0 GPA and completes 15 credit hours per semester.
More than 465 UNM students benefit from the PSP at any given time. Sponsoring one student requires a $2,000 annual gift, which UNM matches and increases up to a $6,300 award per scholarship. Endowing a scholarship requires a $30,000 one-time gift. The program also offers donors a means of giving to students through a lesser financial commitment. Donors can participate in the PSP through the “share-a-scholar” program by making a gift of any size to the PSP.
PSP full sponsors are invited to the University’s annual scholars’ dinner to meet the student recipients of their generosity. During the fiscal year 2006-2007, donors contributed more than $700,000 for PSP scholars. More than 200 individuals and organizations make full sponsorship gifts each year, and more than 10 percent of those donors are former Presidential Scholars or their parents.
A PSP designation in this report identifies full sponsors during FY 2006-07.
Cherry & Silver Societythe u nm cherry & silver
society is the fastest growing alumni giving society at UNM today. Established in July 2004, the Cherry & Silver Society recognizes dedicated alumni who make a gift to UNM at least once every calendar year following graduation. In the Cherry & Silver Society, it is your decision to give each year that is most important.
New graduates have 24 months from the date of graduation to make their first gift to UNM and qualify for society membership. Alumni have a variety of reasons for giving back to UNM, from enhancing undergraduate education and supporting innovative research to providing scholarship assistance and pride in Lobo athletics. Private support makes a significant difference in the quality of students, faculty and programs at UNM.
Members of the society in this report are designated with a q symbol. More information is available on our Web site, cherrysilver.unm.edu.

Th e Pr esi den t’s Clu b continues to grow into a circle of the state’s business and community leaders who are vital to the University’s position as a premier force for education and economic development in New Mexico.
Club members’ suppport and involvement have been the catalyst for initiatives that provide extraordinary undergraduate opportunities at the University. The very successful Freshman Learning
Communities (FLC) program, created with President’s Club gifts, has led to dramatic improvements in the success rates of first-year students at UNM. The FLCs are now fully funded by the University budget, and President’s Club gifts in 2006-2007 supported three exciting undergraduate programs: the Research Service Learning Program, increased UNM study abroad opportunities, and D.C. congressional internship positions.
Members of the President’s Club contribute a minimum annual gift of $5,000 to UNM with at least $2,500 of the gift allocated to the President’s Fund for Academic Excellence. The remainder may be designated to any University program, college or school, student scholarships or other activities. President’s Club philanthropy is a critical component of many of UNM’s undergraduate, graduate and professional school programs and activities, affecting not just the campus but also the community, state and region served by the University of New Mexico.

The University of New Mexico Foundation would like to recognize all donors who have included the University in their estate plans or who have made other types of planned gifts. Membership in the New Horizons Society is voluntary and may even be anonymous. Members receive an invitation to an annual luncheon event and a library card for the UNM Libraries.
The University does not need to know the amount of your planned gift, although such information is helpful. A planned gift may take the form of a bequest intention
in a will or living will, an IRA or retirement account beneficiary designation, a life insurance or other beneficiary designation, a gift annuity, a charitable remainder trust or other arrangements.
For more information about making a planned gift or joining the New Horizons Society, please contact Susan Morrison, director of planned giving, at [email protected] or (505) 277-9604 or Bart Evans, manager of planned giving, at [email protected] or (505) 277-6543.

SchoolS, collegeS and ProgramSAnderson School of Management
The Anderson School gives special recognition, through publications and annual events, to Anderson Circle members. The Anderson Circle includes all individuals and companies that donate $1,000 or more annually to advance Anderson goals. In addition, the Anderson School’s Foundation Board serves as a fund-raising arm for Anderson and as a bridge between the business community and the Anderson School’s future business leaders. The Anderson Foundation Director’s Circle includes individuals and their companies who make an annual financial commitment of at least $2,500. Finally, the Dean’s Inner Circle is an elite group of donors who commit to a minimum of $5,000 per year for three years in order to advance special initiatives in business education and leadership. For information, please contact Ernest Rodriguez-Naaz, constituent development officer, at [email protected] or (505) 277-7114.
School of Architecture and Planning
The Council for Design and Planning Excellence is a member-driven organization dedicated to promoting and supporting the school’s mission. Individual and corporate council members contribute knowledge and expertise to advance the goals of the school, the larger community
and the state. Council members reflect the diversity of interest in both the process of design and planning and the importance of design quality. Annual Council memberships—Benefactor, $2,500; Corporate, $1,000 and Individual, $500—support emerging needs, including instructor-directed student travel, events and special needs. For information, please contact John Miller, development associate, at [email protected] or (505) 277-7421.
College of Arts and SciencesThe Dean’s Circle recognizes
the extraordinary individuals, foundations and corporations whose annual contributions of $1,000 or more support the Dean’s Fund at the College of Arts and Sciences. These members strengthen the college and its service to students, faculty, staff and the community by funding cutting-edge research, innovative programs and lectures, student financial aid and faculty development. For information, please contact Deborah Dobson, constituent development officer, at [email protected] or (505) 277-3194.
AthleticsThe Lobo Club is “the team
behind the teams,” the branch of the UNM Athletics Department responsible for raising funds for athletic scholarships. Lobo Club members, through their support, are investing in the futures of our student-athletes and the future of your New Mexico communities. Lobo Club members have helped to create a tradition of success
at UNM. Their contributions supply our student-athletes with the resources necessary for success in both the classroom and competition. Individuals and businesses who support more than 400 Lobo student-athletes competing in 21 sports at UNM are identified in this report with a i symbol. For more information, contact David Sabolcik, director of annual giving for athletics, at [email protected] or (505) 925-5900.
College of Fine Arts This Dean’s Circle is open to
donors who support the college through an annual contribution of $1,000 or more. This pool of funds is used to support faculty and staff research, creative work and for professional development grants given annually by the college. For information, please contact Sandra Koson, development coordinator, at [email protected] or (505) 277-9377.
KNME-TVKNME’s Leadership Circle

School of Law This Dean’s Circle provides
special recognition and receptions for donors who give $1,000 or more each year. The goal is to let our most generous donors know that their gifts greatly enhance our ability to provide an excellent legal education. For more information, please contact Bill Uher, constituent development officer, at [email protected] or (505) 277-1038.
health ScienceS centerUNM Cancer Center
The El Oso Sanador, or “the healing bear,” is the symbol of the UNM Cancer Center and a Native American totem of power, health and protection. The grizzly bear is the animal most closely associated with Mudjekeewis, the Spirit Keeper of the West, and the source of responsibility, teaching, leadership and healing. It represents our desire to serve New Mexicans whose lives have been touched by cancer with strength, courage, grace and great ability. El Oso Sanador Society recognizes individuals, corporations and foundations that make outright and planned philanthropic contributions of $1,000 or more annually. For information, please contact Linda Karr, constituent development officer, at [email protected] or (505) 272-2114.
UNM Children’s HospitalThe Circle of Friends includes
donors who are dedicated to building and supporting the only children’s specialty hospital in New Mexico. Private support is essential to provide the best medical care for New Mexico’s
children, build leadership in research, and educate tomorrow’s health care providers. Private, foundation or corporate gifts at annual giving levels of $1,000 to $10,000+ qualify to participate in the Circle of Friends program. Gifting at any level allows gifts to be unrestricted, designated to a specific unit, project or program. For more information, please contact Hazel Tull-Leach, executive director of development, at [email protected] or (505) 277-5685.
School of MedicineIn addition to increasing
funding for clinical outreach and research, La Tierra Sagrada Society’s mission is to promote the excellence of the School of Medicine and to provide financial assistance, fellowship and
volunteerism through membership. Annual contributions of La Tierra Sagrada Society members support exceptional programs and cutting-edge research at the UNM School of Medicine. Some projects have the potential to impact health and health care across the campus, the local community, the nation and the world. The number of deserving programs and priorities selected depends on the total gifts through member giving. For information, please contact Joanne Branyon-Ward, development associate, at [email protected] or (505) 277-8413.
College of NursingThe Nightingale Society,
established in 2004, honors individuals, corporations and foundations for their important annual contributions of $1,000 or more. These gifts help the college address the nursing faculty shortage, teach more nurses, lead the way in a greater number of research projects, reach more communities and offer better care to all New Mexicans. Working together, we are creating brighter futures for people close to home and around the globe. For information, please contact Rosemary Gregory, constituent development officer, at [email protected] or (505) 277-0200.
College of PharmacyCreated in 2003, the Dean’s
Papiani Giving Circle recognizes individual donors—alumni and friends—who give annual gifts of $1,000 or more to the College of Pharmacy. Gifts to this unrestricted fund allow the dean to support professional opportunities for the students, faculty and staff. For information, please contact Sonya Warwick, constituent development officer, at [email protected] or (505) 272-3657.

UNM’s Annual Fund The Annual Fund campaign solicits
monetary gifts from alumni and friends by letter, phone, through the Report of Giving and online. Annual Fund donors may designate their gifts to any area, college, school, department or program within the University or give unrestricted gifts, which are used for the University’s greatest needs. See page 18. Contact Annette Hazen, (505) 277-9628; [email protected].
Giving OnlineOnline giving through the
Foundation’s secure Web site is an easy three-step process. Log on to www.unm.edu/foundation for giving information.
Planned GivingThe Planned Gifts Program
provides donors with information and helps establish gifts through bequests, charitable trusts, gift annuities, retirement accounts and life insurance policies. The University’s planned giving experts work closely with the donor’s own advisers to ensure the needs and wishes of the donor are fulfilled in perpetuity. UNM established the New Horizons Society to recognize donors who have included the University in their estate plans. See page 20. Contact Susan Morrison, (505) 277-9604; [email protected].
Gifts of Real PropertyThe Gift Acceptance Committee of
the UNM Foundation reviews gifts of real property, including real estate, works of art, equipment and other in-kind gifts. Contact Susan Morrison, (505) 277-9604; [email protected].
EndowmentsDonors establish endowed funds
to support a specific purpose in perpetuity. UNM invests the funds and uses a portion of the income generated from the principal to provide funding. Endowments may include support for scholarships, faculty or programming, and may be funded over a period of years. Currently, the minimum for an endowed fund is $10,000. See page 14. Contact Judith Davenport, (505) 277-9600; [email protected].
