 Université de Rennes 1 is a comprehensive, multi-campus university devoted to education and research. The university’s 19 components (departments, institutes, and schools) enroll 24,600 students, 2,200 of whom are in continuing education or apprenticeship programs. The university provides individual tutorials to ensure that international students in exchange programs adapt quickly and smoothly to French academic life. Exchange students are eligible for housing in the cité universitaire through an agreement with the regional student-service agency. They also have access to French-language courses and to a year-long program of cultural activities.
