• University Properties of Finland was founded in 2009, in accordance with the University system renewal in Finland to capitalize the Universities, outside the greater Helsinki area.

• The financial solidity of the company is formed by owning and developing the properties which the Universities use and pay the rent for.

• Company offers appropriate and affordable premises for Universities and also develops it’s property fortune for other companies to let who need appropriate premises.

• Company’s goal is to create lucrative and sustainable campus surroundings for learning and innovation, that supports the success of the universities also measured in an international level.

Status of campus development


Campus development with Universityof Oulu

• Linnanmaa -campus• Kontinkangas -campus

• Development of the structure of operations (business, retail, residential), connection to city (infrastructure, traffic)

• New space models• Comfortable, attractive and working campus• Cooperation with City of Oulu, business, services, retail,

research companies, other educational units


Campus development with otheruniversities

• UPF started campus development with University of Oulu in 2011 with assessing current stage

• In 2012 UPF develop the campus development frame work and tasks and chose development consultants and started the process with Lappeenranta University of Tehcnology and University of Oulu

• Campus development status• University of Oulu (will be finished for summer)• Lappeenranta (finished, follow-up in planning)• Jyväskylä (will be finished in summer)• Turku (is started)• Rovaniemi (starting)

• In addition UPF has done visions for additional building in some campuses• Tampere University of Technology (new building project is starting)• University of Eastern Finland, Kuopio• University of Vaasa
