Message from the Vice-Chancellor Welcome to the University of Delhi!

Ever since its inception in 1922, the University of Delhi (informally known as Delhi University or DU) has been at the forefront of teaching-learning in diverse areas of higher education. 1.3. Admission procedure

1.3.1. Online Registration

a) All the candidates seeking admission to the Postgraduate (PG)/Master’s courses are required to register online.

b) There is a common Web Portal for the centralized registration of applicants and a common registration form for admission to all the PG/Master’s Courses in the University. Online registration details are available on the following PG admission portal:

c) As a first time user, applicant shall create the login details by clicking on the “Register Here” under the “New User?” option on this webpage. • Applicants who do not have a valid email-id must create an email-id before

proceeding further. • Click Help tab on the portal to view the Step by Step Instructions to fill the

Application Form. • In the “Login details”, applicant shall provide the email-id, which would be used for

any future communication with the University for admission purposes. • Applicant shall then create a password (of maximum six characters) for online

registration at the PG Admission Portal. • Applicant shall also provide a valid mobile phone number (10 digit number without

any prefix). • Applicant's details (as given in the certificates) should also be furnished. • Please verify that all the details given in the form are correct. This information will

be used during the entire admission process. No change/modification is allowed. Please be careful in filling up the required information in all aspects.

• The applicant must also ensure that the email-id and password is kept handy for all the future correspondence/reference regarding admission process.

d) On completion of this process a verification email will be sent on applicant’s email

account with a confirmation link, which the applicant shall have to click to confirm the registration. Please note that this email account is same as the one provided by the candidate while registering process.

e) Applicant shall now log on to the PG admission portal using “registered email-id” and created “password” to fill the online registration form. The same login information is used every time to login to the applicant’s account.

f) Applicant shall be asked to upload the following items: i. Passport size photograph of the applicant (maximum size: 50KB; Formats: JPG/

JPEG/ PNG)

ii. Scanned signature of the applicant (maximum size: 50 KB; Formats: JPG/ JPEG/ PNG)

iii. Self-attested copy of Identity Proof of the applicant (maximum size: 50 KB,

Formats: JPG/ JPEG/ PNG). Identity proof can be any one of the following documents: Aadhaar Card, Driving License, PAN card, Voter’s identity card, Passport or College identity card.

iv. Self-attested copy of Class 10th Certificate (maximum size: 100 KB, Formats: JPG/

JPEG/ PNG/ PDF).

v. Self-attested copy of Caste Certificate, if applicable (maximum size: 100 KB, Formats: JPG/ JPEG/ PNG/ PDF).

g) Once all the above-mentioned files are uploaded, applicant can proceed with “Submit

My Profile”. Applicant can update the uploaded files before clicking “Submit My Profile”.

h) Applicant shall now start with the online filling of the registration form by clicking “Apply in New Course”.

i) Applicant shall provide educational details, course/programme in which applicant seeks to apply, and admission criteria (“Entrance based”, “Merit based” or “Both Entrance & Merit based”). As mentioned in Section 1.3.3, “Merit based” mode is applicable only for students from the University of Delhi.

j) For “Entrance based” and “Both Entrance & Merit based” options, an applicant has a choice to appear in the Entrance Examination in one of the cities listed in Section 1.3.2. Applicant shall also fill the postal address details.

k) Applicant shall be asked to provide the Identity proof with an Identity Proof number. Identity proof can be any one of the following documents: Aadhaar Card, Driving License, PAN card, Voter’s identity card, Passport or College identity card.

l) Applicant shall click the “Save Application” and proceed to check the details filled in the form.

m) There are three options available at the bottom of the page, which are: 'Click to Modify

Application', 'Pay Fee' & 'My Home'. After providing complete information, applicant shall proceed with the fee payment by clicking ‘Pay Fee’.

n) Applicant’s application submission process shall be completed only after payment of the online registration fee.

o) In case an applicant wishes to apply in more than one Course then the candidate shall fill separate registration form for each Course. It may be noted that same Login details shall be used for all the registration forms filled by the applicant. Applicant shall be required to pay separate registration fee for applying to each Course.

p) For any query related to the admission process, applicant may first check the FAQs

(Section 9). Applicant may also contact the concerned Department. Department contact information is provided in Section 8.

q) Step-by-step guide for filling up the online registration form is provided in Annexure-III. This guide is also available on the admission portal under “PG Admission 2018: Help” link.

r) Foreign nationals may visit Section 3 for details related with their registration/admission process.

s) The registered applicants’ shall also provide preference for colleges (if applicable). Applicant must pick options carefully as no modification shall be allowed after submission of the form.

t) Please note that permission to appear in the entrance examination is subject to the applicant’s fulfilling the minimum eligibility requirements prescribed for applying to the concerned programme of study. In case an applicant does not meet the minimum eligibility criteria prescribed for applying to the concerned programme and appears in the entrance examination, it is done at the applicant’s own risk and cost, and if at any stage, it is found that the minimum eligibility requirements are not fulfilled, the admission, if granted, shall be cancelled ipso facto.

After submission of the registration form, corrections, additions, deletions etc. in any manner shall not be allowed. The candidates are, therefore, advised to fill their forms carefully.

1.3.2. Centers for the Entrance Examination

a) Entrance examination shall be conducted at the centres located in the following cities:

Chennai Delhi Guwahati Kolkata Nagpur Varanasi

b) Applicant shall choose any one of these cities for appearing in the entrance examination

through the online registration. It may be noted that after completion of the online registration, the chosen city will not be changed.

c) The University reserves the right to change/cancel any Centre of examination without

assigning any reason.

1.3.3. Mode of admission and Seat availability

a) In all the Faculties/Departments, except the ones offering inter-disciplinary or professional courses, there are two modes of admission for postgraduate courses:

i. Merit or Direct: 50% of the total intake shall be filled by direct admission of the students of the University of Delhi only, on the basis of merit. This mode is not available to students from other Universities.

ii. Entrance: Remaining 50% of the seats shall be filled through entrance examination and Interview/Group Discussion, if any.

b) It may again be noted that all the applicants seeking admission to the postgraduate

courses are required to register online, irrespective of the mode of intake.

c) Applicants can choose to apply in these two modes under the following three options: (a) Merit only, (b) Entrance only, or (c) Merit + Entrance.

d) The seat distribution for each Course under Direct and Entrance modes is given in Annexure-VI. Reservation/ concession to the prescribed extent shall apply separately in both the modes (Direct and Entrance) in compliance with the rules notified by the University from time to time, and is provided in Annexure-VI. The Departments will release the Admission lists in both modes, separately for all categories.

e) The Courses having Interview/Group Discussion (GD) after Entrance test, along with

their weightage are given in Annexure-I.

f) A list of PG/Master’s courses offered by various faculties for online admission process is given in Annexure-II. It may be noted that certain Faculties/Courses, which are not part of the current online registration process, are listed in Annexure-VII.

1.3.4. Online Registration fee

a) Registration fee (non-refundable) for the entrance examination is the following:

SC/ST and Persons with Disabilities (PwD)

Rs. 250/-

For all other categories (Unreserved, OBC etc.)

Rs. 500/-

b) Registration fee has to be paid during online registration process through one of the available online payment options.

c) Applicant shall be required to pay separate registration fee for each Course/Programme, for which the candidate is applying.

d) It may be noted again that your application submission process shall be completed only after payment of the online registration fee.

1.4. Entrance Examination

a) The Admit Card for the entrance examination shall be available in your online registration account.

b) Admit Card’s download link shall be available after ….th June, 2018 (closing date of online registration). Please visit the PG admission portal for news and updates related with the Admit Card and on the admission procedures.

c) Candidate shall take the print-out of the Admit Card. The print quality of the Admit Card should be good enough for verification.

d) Admit Card shall carry the information related with Centre, Reporting time etc.

e) Candidate shall carry the following documents to the Examination Centre:

i. Printed copy of the Admit Card.

ii. One identity card bearing candidate’s photograph, for verification. This can be any one of the following documents: Aadhaar Card, Driving License, PAN card, Voter’s identity card, Passport or College identity card

f) The duration of entrance examination shall be two hours. The question paper shall be of

Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) type, except for some of the foreign language courses including Persian which may have short-answer questions also.

g) The syllabus for the entrance examination of each postgraduate course is the corresponding B.A./B.Com/B.Sc. (or equivalent) syllabus of the University of Delhi or/and given on the respective Department’s website.

h) The answers have to be marked on Optical Mark Recognition (OMR).

i) A sample OMR sheet and associated instructions are provided in Annexure- IV.

1.5. Interview/Group Discussion, if any

a) For the courses having entrance examination and interview/group discussion (Annexure-I), the admission to the course is through an entrance test, which results in the shortlisting of the candidates for the interview/group discussion.

b) The list of shortlisted candidates and dates of the interview/group-discussion shall be notified on the PG admission portal.

1.6. Intimation regarding Admission

a) Results of the Entrance Examination and Interviews/Group Discussion, if any, shall be notified on the PG admission portal.

b) Selected applicants are required to furnish the necessary documents at the time of admission. Admission fee for the first list of selected candidates will have to be paid by ….th July 2018.

c) Information regarding subsequent lists of selected candidates, if any, shall be notified on the PG admission portal.

d) For all the news and updates related to PG admissions, visit PG admission portal.

1.7. Admission Process

a) All the registered applicants must update the information regarding qualifying examination etc. on the PG Admission Portal using their registered email id and passwords. The PG Admission Portal shall reopen for this purpose again. Applicants’ are requested to keep checking the University website for further details related with the dates of portal re-opening etc.

b) For the “Merit Category”, the applicants shall only be considered in the “Admission List” if their Qualifying Examination results are updated on the PG Admission Portal (after portal re-opening).

c) For the “Entrance Category”, the applicants shall be considered in the “Admission List” even if their Qualifying Examination results are still awaited (after portal re-opening). [Also Check Clause g(ii) for further details].

d) The Departments will declare the category-wise “First Admission List” of finally selected candidates on their websites on 1st July 2018. Both the “Merit” and “Entrance” lists (wherever applicable) shall be announced together, for all the categories. The allotment of seats (category-wise) in the Admission List is based on the rank of the applicant and the availability of seats in departments/colleges, both in “Entrance” and “Merit” modes. It may further be noted that the name in the Admission List alone does not entitle an applicant for admission. The admission to the Course shall not be considered complete until the documents are verified and the payment of the online admission fee within the prescribed time limit is realized.

e) The selected applicants will logon to the respective admission portals again, download the Admission Form, and take the printout of the Admission Form. The Admission Form will have the information of the “Reporting Centre” where the selected applicants will first report and “Place of Admission” (College/Department), where the applicant will be admitted.

f) Applicant shall first report at the “Reporting Centre” along with the Admission Form and all the relevant documents (in original), (Check the List of Documents) for verification of the documents and eligibility criteria. Only those candidates of the given “Admission List”, who report at the “Reporting Centre”, within the scheduled time limit, will be eligible for Admission to the Course.

g) The applicant, whose names appear in the given “Admission List”, shall be considered for admission on the basis of the following criteria:

i. Those who report to the Reporting Centre, with all the documents (including

qualifying examination marks-sheet), shall be marked “VERIFIED” on the applicant’s Admission Form.

• The applicant shall then go to the allotted “Place of Admission” (College / Department, mentioned in the Admission Form) for submitting the original documents.

• The allotted place of admission will then mark the applicant “APPROVED” on the admission portal.

• The applicant will then be required to login to the admission Portal to make the online Admission Fee payment through one of the available online payment options.

• The admission to the programme shall not be considered complete till the payment of the online admission fee within the prescribed time limit.

ii. Those who report to the Reporting Centre within the scheduled time limit, and meet

all other requirements except for the qualifying examination mark sheet or/and

migration certificate (if required), shall be marked “REPORTED” on the applicant’s Admission Form.

• The applicant shall then go to the allotted “Place of Admission” (College / Department, mentioned in the Admission Form) for submitting the original documents.

• The allotted place of admission will then mark the applicant “REPORTED” on the admission portal.

• These applicants will be allowed to submit their required documents at least seven days (23rd August 2018) before the last date (31st August 2018) of admissions in University of Delhi.

• These applicants can pay online application fee only after getting their admission status APPROVED at the portal.

• If the applicant fails to submit the required documents within the prescribed time limit then the applicant will not be considered for Admission to that Programme.

iii. Those Applicants, who do not report to the “Reporting Centre” within the

scheduled time limit of the given “Admission list”, irrespective of the fact whether all other criteria of admission are fulfilled, shall NOT be considered for Admission in any of the subsequent lists.

h) The certificates of APPROVED and REPORTED candidates shall be

retained at the “Place of Admission”. The certificates will remain with the “Place of Admission” during the entire admission process.

i) The “Place of Admission” shall promptly return the documents in case student withdraws/cancels the admission or student wishes to appear for counselling at any other university/ institute. In case the REPORTED candidate fails to submit the required documents within the prescribed time limit, then the earlier submitted certificates shall be given back to the candidate.

j) In the case of equal marks in the Entrance Examination, candidates securing

higher percentage of marks in the qualifying examination, as mentioned in the eligibility condition, will be offered admission first.

It may be noted that the admission of an applicant is completed only after the payment of the Online Admission Fee on the Admission Portal within the prescribed time-limit.

1.8. Admission procedure for SOL and NCWEB

The applicants who wish to be considered for admission in Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB) and/or School of Open Learning (SOL) may opt for the same at the time of registration and no separate registration with SOL/NCWEB is required. However, all other procedure for admission will be done by the SOL and NCWEB.

2. Eligibility Criteria

2.1. Age

As per Ordinance-I of the University, there is no minimum age bar for admission to the under-graduate and postgraduate courses in the University and its colleges except in the courses where the respective regulatory bodies, such as Medical Council of India (MCI), All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), Bar Council of India (BCI), National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE), Dental Council of India (DCI), etc. have prescribed the minimum age requirement in their regulations.

2.2. Qualifying examinations

The criterion for qualifying examination for each course is given in Annexure-VI and is also provided on the following web link:

2.3. Equivalence criteria

The Departments/Colleges of the University may advise the candidates concerned, wherever necessary, to get recognition/equivalence of their degrees/ diplomas/ certificates authenticated from the Association of Indian Universities/University Grants Commission/AICTE/Council of Boards of School Education in India (COBSE) for the purpose of admission to the Department/College. Further, the cases of equivalence of degrees / certificates / diploma may then be put up before the University Authorities for further consideration and confirmation. However, the Certificates / Diplomas/ Degrees already recognized/equated by the University may not be referred for further verification.

2.4. Reservations

The reservation policy related to admissions will be followed as per the applicable law.

2.4.1. Reservation of Seats for Schedule Caste (SC)/Tribe (ST) Applicants

• 22½ % of the total numbers of seats is reserved for applicants belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes (15% for Scheduled Caste and 7½% for Scheduled Tribes, interchangeable, if necessary).

• The minimum eligibility requirement for the SC/ST applicants will be the minimum pass marks of the concerned qualifying examination of the University of Delhi. In the case of SC/ST applicants who had passed the last qualifying examination from other

Universities, they should have secured at least the same percentage of pass marks at the qualifying examination as prescribed for the equivalent examination of the University of Delhi for the purpose of admission to the postgraduate programme of this University.

• Where the admission is based on screening/written test, the SC/ST applicants would also be required to take the test but their merit list will be drawn separately.

• It is a statutory obligation on the part of Colleges to fill all seats reserved for Scheduled Caste /Scheduled Tribe applicants.

• The Colleges/Departments shall not refuse admission to any SC/ST Applicant on the basis of medium of instruction. Any deficiency in the knowledge of any particular language should be removed, remedial classes for which may be arranged by utilizing grants that are available from University Grants Commission.

• Relaxation to the extent of 5% in the minimum marks will be given to the applicants belonging to SC and ST to determine their eligibility and merit for admission to the programme concerned.

• In case, after giving 5% relaxation, the reserved seats still remain vacant, further relaxation would be given to the extent required in order to fill up all the reserved seats.(AC Resolution A88, 14.6.1983) (EC Resolution 157, 24121.2001). Eligibility in these cases is pass percentage.

• The seats reserved for the SC/ST shall be filled by the SC/ST candidates only. However, in the case of non-availability of the eligible candidates the reserved seats may be interchanged between the SC & ST. If still any seat remains unfilled, the same shall be left vacant.

The following are empowered to issue the certificate:

(a) District Magistrate/ Additional District Magistrate/ Collector/ Deputy Commissioner/ Addl. Deputy Commissioner/ Deputy Collector/ 1st class Stipendiary Magistrate/ City Magistrate/ Sub-Divisional Magistrate/ Taluka Magistrate/ Executive Magistrate/ Extra Assistant Commissioner.

(b) Chief Presidency Magistrate / Addl. Chief Presidency Magistrate / Presidency Magistrate.

(c) Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar.

(d) Sub- Divisional Officer of the area where the Applicant and/ or his family normally resides.

(e) Administrator/ Secretary to the Administrator/ Development Officer (Lakshadweep Islands).

Applicant must note that Certificate from any other person/ authority shall not be accepted in any case. If the applicant happens to belong to SC or ST, applicant’s caste/ tribe must be listed in the appropriate Govt. of India schedule. The Caste Certificate should clearly state: (a) Name of the candidate’s caste/ tribe (b) whether applicant belongs to SC or ST (c) District and the State or Union Territory of applicant’s usual place of residence and (d) the appropriate Govt. of India schedule under which the candidate’s caste/ tribe is approved as SC or ST.

If the applicants do not have the SC or ST caste/tribe certificate at the time of upload, the applicant may upload the acknowledgement slip of the SC or ST caste/tribe certificate application. However, at the time of admission, the applicant will have to produce the valid SC or ST caste/tribe certificate.

However, if an SC/ST Applicant seeks admission under some other category, the applicant should satisfy the minimum eligibility requirement for that category.

Note: SC/ST students who get admission under open merit (unreserved) will not be included in the reserved quota, i.e. 22.5%.

2.4.2. Reservation of Seats for Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy layer, Central List)

• 27% seats will be reserved for the applicants belonging to Other Backward Classes (OBC) (non-creamy layer, central list).

• The OBC applicants shall be given a relaxation in the minimum eligibility in the qualifying examination and in the minimum eligibility (if any) in the admission entrance test to the extent of 10% of the minimum eligibility marks prescribed for the unreserved category applicants. For example, if the minimum eligibility for admission to a programme is 50% for the unreserved category applicants, the minimum eligibility for the OBC applicants would be 45%, i.e. 50% less 10% of 50%. The minimum eligibility marks for OBC applicants shall be determined in the view of the academic standard to be maintained.

• At the time of giving admission to an OBC applicant, the College will ensure that the caste is included in the Central List of OBC (the OBC status is to be determined on the basis of the Central List of OBCs notified by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment on the recommendations of the National Commission for Backward Classes available at the website http:/ ncbc.nic.in/ backward classes/index.html.)

• The certificate must mention non-creamy layer status of the applicant (Non-creamy layer status issued by an authority mentioned in DOPT Office Memorandum no. 36012/22/93-Estt. (SCT) dated 15.11.1993).

• The OBC applicants who belong to the ‘Non-Creamy Layer’ and whose caste appears in the Central List of the OBCs only, shall be eligible to be considered for admission under the OBC category (Validity period of OBC certificate in respect of

‘creamy layer’ status of the applicants as per DOPT Office Memorandum No. 36036/2/2013-Estt.(Res-I) dated 31 March 2017). The validity of the non-creamy layer certificate shall be for the financial year 2017-18.

• If the applicants do not have the OBC non-creamy layer certificate of the financial year 2017-18 at the time of upload, the applicant may upload old OBC non-creamy layer certificate/acknowledgement slip of OBC non-creamy layer certificate application. However, at the time of admission, the applicant will have to produce the OBC non-creamy layer certificate of the financial year 2017-18.

• The OBC applicants shall be given a relaxation of 10% in the minimum eligibility marks of the said programme and in the admission entrance test, a relaxation of 10% of the minimum eligibility marks prescribed for General Category applicants.

• It is a statutory obligation on the part of Colleges to fill all seats reserved for OBC applicants.

• The Colleges shall not refuse admission to any OBC applicant on the basis of medium of instruction. Any deficiency in the knowledge of any particular language should be removed, remedial classes for which may be arranged by utilizing grants that are available from University Grants Commission.

• If the seats meant for OBC remain vacant after arriving at the minimum eligibility, the same may be converted and filled up by other eligible applicants subject to approval from the University.

Note: The merit list for the unreserved (UR) category seats will comprise of all the applicants in the order of merit. No one will be excluded from the same. In other words, it will also include SC / ST / OBC applicants, if they come in unreserved merit. The applicant cannot be excluded from the unreserved category merit list just because the applicant belongs to SC/ST/OBC. Such an applicant is entitled to be considered under the unreserved category, as well as under the reserved category. Admission to unreserved category seats will be strictly in the order of merit without excluding SC/ST/OBC applicants.

2.4.3. Supernumerary seats

2.4.3.1. Persons with Disabilities (PwD) As per the provisions of Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2017, not less than five percent (5%) seats are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, where “person with benchmark disability” means a person with not less than forty percent (40%) of a specified disability where specified disability has not been defined in measurable terms and includes a person with disability where specified disability has been defined in measurable terms, as certified by the certifying authority. It may be noted that the erstwhile Persons with Disability Act, 1995, under which reservation for Persons with Disabilities in admissions was provided earlier has now been repealed. The PwD applicants shall be given a relaxation in the minimum eligibility in the qualifying examination and in the minimum eligibility (if any) in the admission entrance test to the extent of 5%.

The following specified categories of disabilities as mentioned in the Schedule to the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 [See clause (zc) of section 2 of Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016] are eligible to get the benefit of the said reservation:

1. Physical disability

A. Locomotor disability (a person's inability to execute distinctive activities associated with movement of self and objects resulting from affliction of musculoskeletal or nervous system or both), including— (a) "leprosy cured person" means a person who has been cured of leprosy but is suffering from—

(i) loss of sensation in hands or feet as well as loss of sensation and paresis in the eye and eye-lid but with no manifest deformity; (ii) manifest deformity and paresis but having sufficient mobility in their hands and feet to enable them to engage in normal economic activity; (iii) extreme physical deformity as well as advanced age which prevents him/her from undertaking any gainful occupation, and the expression "leprosy cured" shall construed accordingly;

(b) "cerebral palsy" means a Group of non-progressive neurological condition affecting body movements and muscle coordination, caused by damage to one or more specific areas of the brain, usually occurring before, during or shortly after birth; (c) "dwarfism" means a medical or genetic condition resulting in an adult height of 4 feet 10 inches (147 centimeters) or less; (d) "muscular dystrophy" means a group of hereditary genetic muscle disease that weakens the muscles that move the human body and persons with multiple dystrophy have incorrect and missing information in their genes, which prevents them from making the proteins they need for healthy muscles. It is characterised by progressive skeletal muscle weakness, defects in muscle proteins, and the death of muscle cells and tissue; (e) "acid attack victims" means a person disfigured due to violent assaults by throwing of acid or similar corrosive substance. B. Visual impairment—

(a) "blindness" means a condition where a person has any of the following conditions, after best correction—

(i) total absence of sight; or (ii) visual acuity less than 3/60 or less than 10/200 (Snellen) in the better eye with best possible correction; or (iii) limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle of less than 10 degree.

(b) "low-vision" means a condition where a person has any of the following conditions, namely:—

(i) visual acuity not exceeding 6/18 or less than 20/60 upto 3/60 or upto 10/200 (Snellen) in the better eye with best possible corrections; or (ii) limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle of less than 40 degree up to 10 degree.

C. Hearing impairment—

(a) "deaf" means persons having 70 DB hearing loss in speech frequencies in both ears;

(b) "hard of hearing" means person having 60 DB to 70 DB hearing loss in speech frequencies in both ears;

D. "Speech and language disability" means a permanent disability arising out of conditions such as laryngectomy or aphasia affecting one or more components of speech and language due to organic or neurological causes.

2. Intellectual disability, a condition characterised by significant limitation both in intellectual functioning (reasoning, learning, problem solving) and in adaptive behaviour which covers a range of every day, social and practical skills, including—

(a) "Specific learning disabilities" means a heterogeneous group of conditions wherein there is a deficit in processing language, spoken or written, that may manifest itself as a difficulty to comprehend, speak, read, write, spell, or to do mathematical calculations and includes such conditions as perceptual disabilities, dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia and developmental aphasia; (b) "Autism spectrum disorder" means a neuro-developmental condition typically appearing in the first three years of life that significantly affects a person's ability to communicate, understand relationships and relate to others, and is frequently associated with unusual or stereotypical rituals or behaviours.

3. Mental behaviour

"Mental illness" means a substantial disorder of thinking, mood, perception, orientation or memory that grossly impairs judgment, behaviour, capacity to recognise reality or ability to meet the ordinary demands of life, but does not include retardation which is a condition of arrested or incomplete development of mind of a person, specially characterised by subnormality of intelligence.

4. Disability caused due to -

(a) Chronic neurological conditions, such as — (i) "Multiple sclerosis" means an inflammatory, nervous system disease in which the myelin sheaths around the axons of nerve cells of the brain and spinal cord are damaged, leading to demyelination and affecting the ability of nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord to communicate with each other; (ii) "Parkinson's disease" means a progressive disease of the nervous system marked by tremor, muscular rigidity, and slow, imprecise movement, chiefly affecting middle-aged and elderly people associated with degeneration of the basal ganglia of the brain and a deficiency of the neurotransmitter dopamine.

(b) Blood disorder—

(i) "Haemophilia" means an inheritable disease, usually affecting only male but transmitted by women to their male children, characterised by loss or impairment of the normal clotting ability of blood so that a minor wound may result in fatal bleeding;

(ii) "Thalassemia" means a group of inherited disorders characterised by reduced or absent amounts of haemoglobin.

(iii) "Sickle cell disease" means a haemolytic disorder characterised by chronic anemia, painful events, and various complications due to associated tissue and organ damage; "haemolytic" refers to the destruction of the cell membrane of red blood cells resulting in the release of haemoglobin.

5. Multiple Disabilities (more than one of the above specified disabilities) including deaf blindness which means a condition in which a person may have combination of hearing and visual impairments causing severe communication, developmental, and educational problems.

6. Any other category as may be notified by the Central Government. Concessional/Waiver of fees in respect of Persons with Disabilities (PwD)

1. Consequent upon amendment to Ordinance X(4) of the University, the following provision has been added after Sub-clause 2 of Ordinance X( 4) of the said Ordinance:

“Provided that the Persons with Physical Disabilities shall be waived off all the fees payable including the Examination fee and other University fees, except Admission fee, subscription towards Delhi University Students’ Union and Identity Card fee for pursuing under-graduate, post-graduate or other programmes in the University or its Colleges.”

In pursuance of the above, the applicants with physical disabilities pursuing various programmes of study in the Faculties, Departments, Centers, and Institutions / Colleges of the University shall be exempted from payment of fees, including examination fee and other University fees, except Admission fee, subscription towards Delhi University students’ Union and Identity Card fee.

2. PwD applicants who will meet the cut-off for the unreserved (UR)/SC/ST category and will take admission in the UR/SC/ST will pay the fee relevant for PwD applicant.

3. In pursuance of the Executive Council Resolution No. 50 dated 03.11.2012, it is notified that the students with physical disabilities residing in different Hostels / Halls of the University are exempted from payment of all hostel fees and charges except refundable caution fee and the mess fees. The persons with Physical Disabilities shall pay 50% of the Mess fee and the remaining 50% of the Mess Fee-in respect of the PwD students is being met by the University of Delhi. Similar norms are to be adopted by the Colleges in respect of PwD Students residing in various hostels of the Colleges.

It is clarified further that the PwD students who are getting fellowships / financial assistance shall be exempted from payment of fees / charges / mess fees subject to the following conditions:

2.4.3.2. Children/Widows of the eligible Armed Forces Personnel including Para Military Forces (CW Category) = 5% of the seats in each course

1. All applicants seeking admission to various undergraduate programmes of the University of Delhi will have to register online as per schedule notified by the University. 2. Five percent (5%) of seats are reserved for applicants under CW categories, programme-wise in all departments. 3. A concession of 5% marks in the minimum eligibility requirements in the qualifying examinations. 4. All the CW applicants have to upload the Educational Concession certificate in the enclosed format to be issued by any of the following authorities on the proper letterhead.

(i) Secretary, Kendriya Sainik Board, Delhi. (ii) Secretary, Rajya Zila Sainik Board. (iii) Officer-in-Charge, Record Office. (iv) 1st Class Stipendiary Magistrate. (v) Ministry of Home Affairs (For Police Personnel in receipt of Gallantry Awards)

5. Admission may be offered to the Children/Widows of Officers and Men of the Armed Forces including Para-Military Personnel, in the following order of preference:

(i) Widows/Wards of Defence personnel killed in action; (ii) Wards of Defence Personnel disabled in action and Boarded out from service with disability attributable to military service; (iii) Widows/Wards of Defence Personnel who died in peace time with death attributable to military service; (iv) Wards of Defence Personnel disabled in peace time and Boarded out with disability attributable to the military service; and (v) Wards of serving/ Ex-servicemen personnel including personnel of police forces who are in receipt of Gallantry Awards;

2.4.3.4. Sports Quota

2.4.3.4.1. PG Guidelines for admission on the basis of sports

An applicant seeking admission to the PG course on the basis of Sports quota must appear in Entrance Test to be conducted by the respective Department. The applicant must fulfill the minimum eligibility criterion of the programme of the concerned Department. The other guidelines regarding the admission are as follows:

1. The Departments shall communicate the number of Supernumerary Seats for Admission on the basis of Sports to the Delhi University Sports Council (DUSC).

2. The schedule of verification of Sports Certificates and Sports Trials will be notified to all the Department/s by the Delhi University Sports Council.

3. The Department shall send the Application Forms along with the Self-attested copies of Sports Certificates of the applicants who have applied for admission on the basis of Sports by the date communicated to them by the DUSC.

4. The Sports Admission Committee of the DUSC shall screen the Application Forms, verify original Sports Certificates, allocate marks as per the enclosed Criteria for marking of Sports Certificates, conduct Sports Trials, and recommend admission on the basis of Sports to the concerned Department.

5. The admission to the Supernumerary Seats on the basis of Sports will be only on the basis of Entrance Examination and shall be finalized by the concerned Department i.e. marks obtained in Sports Trials be added to the marks obtained in Entrance Examination of the concerned Department. The Department shall then prepare a Merit List for admission on the basis of sports and make admissions accordingly.

6. The grievance related to allocation of marks for Sports Certificates and Sports Trial shall be redressed by the Grievance Committee of the DUSC.

7. The list of finally admitted applicants on the basis of Sports shall be sent to DUSC within seven days from the last date of admission of the University.

8. The DUSC shall maintain proper record of the applicants admitted on the basis of Sports.

9. The applicants, as per their age, must be eligible to participate in Inter-University Competitions for the next two years and should not be employed part-time /full- time anywhere.

10. Any injury/ casualty caused to the applicant during Sports Trials shall be the sole responsibility of the applicant.

11. It is mandatory to submit an Undertaking on Non-Judicial Stamp paper of Rs. 100/- by the applicant at the time of admission to the DUSC stating that the applicant will play for College/ University during their Post Graduate course of study. The Department must ensure that the applicant submits the Undertaking to the DUSC before finally admitted by the Department.

I. (Super Category) Direct Admission without Sports Trial (Category A of the enclosed Criteria for Marking of Sports Certificates)

1. The enclosed Criteria for Marking of Sports Certificates displays marks for different levels of position and/ or participation in various sports competitions.

2. Sports Certificate of Invitational / Memorial / Open / Prize Money League / Ranking competitions will not be considered.

3. Only the highest Sports Certificate will be considered for Marking. (In case of availing Bonus Marks, documentary evidence may be produced)

4. Sports Certificate of only the preceding three years (from 12 June, 2014 to 11 June, 2017) will be considered.

5. The level of competency of the applicant will be determined for those who have achieved distinction only during the preceding three years in those Games/ Sports recognized by AIU / MYAS in which Inter-University Competitions are held.

6. Applicant should take the print out of the submitted online Registration Form and submit it to the concerned Department along with the self attested copies of the certificates of sports achievements.

B. Maximum 25 Marks for Sports Trial

Sports Trial includes Game/ Sport Specific Fitness, Fundamental Skills and Overall Playing Ability.

1. The applicant should go through the notifications issued by the Delhi University Sports Council Notice Board/ DU Website.

2. The Delhi University Sports Council (DUSC) will conduct sports trials for a specific game/sport.

3. The Delhi University Sports Council shall video-graph the Sports Trial and preserve the recordings.

4. The applicant must obtain minimum 13 marks in the Sports Trial to be eligible for admission on the basis of Sports.

3. Registration /Admission of foreign nationals

i.) The foreign nationals seeking admission in the University/its colleges shall have to get themselves registered with the Foreign Students Registry (FSR) in compliance with the schedule notified by the FSR. No Foreign students will be admitted directly by the Department/Colleges. The website link is:

http://fsr.du.ac.in ii.) Foreign nationals shall be exempted from the online registration process of the

University of Delhi for PG admission defined in Section 1.2. Foreign nationals shall also be exempted from appearing in Admission Entrance Test conducted by the College/Department for admission. Foreign nationals who are stationed in India and have passed last examination from Board / University in India shall also be exempted both from online registration process of the University and from appearing in entrance test conducted by the College/Department in all Courses.

iii.) All the Categories of foreign students shall come under the same category of 5% quota

for foreign nationals for admission. This shall include foreign nationals with qualifications attained either from Indian Board /University or Foreign Board/University.

iv.) All admissions in Foreign Students category shall be done on individual merit and a

single merit list of foreign students, both with Indian and foreign qualifications shall be prepared for admission in various courses.

4. General Information

i.) The merit list for the general category seats will comprise of all the applicants in the order of merit including SC/ST/OBC applicants if they come in the general merit. A SC/ST/OBC candidate who figures in the general merit list is entitled to be considered for admission under the general category. Admission to open category seats will be strictly in the order of merit without excluding SC/ST/OBC applicants.

ii.) For admissions to postgraduate programmes where admission is entirely based on

Entrance mode, the applicants who meet all the requirements except for qualifying examination marksheet will be allowed to submit their required documents within till 20 days from the date of announcement of Admission List for getting the admission Approved failing which the applicant will not be considered for admission.   These applicants can pay online application fee only after getting their admission status approved.

iii.) For admissions to postgraduate/undergraduate programmes where admission is entirely based on Entrance mode, applicants who do not have their migration certificates at the time of admission, may be given provisional admission with the undertaking that they will submit migration certificate at least seven days (23rd August 2018) before the last date of admissions in University of Delhi, i.e. 31st August, 2018.

iv.) For admission to all postgraduate programmes. An applicant, whose result is

declared/updated when the admission process is already underway, would be eligible for admission, provided the marks of the applicant falls within one of the preceding/ongoing/forthcoming (if any) Admission lists. The admission is subject to availability of seats and the applicant satisfies all other eligibility criteria.

v.) The practice of condonation of delay in admission by the Vice-Chancellor has been

discontinued from the academic session 2011-2012. Therefore, as per Ordinance-II, admission to all the postgraduate courses shall have to be finalized by the 31st August of the academic year of admission.

vi.) The Colleges/Departments shall get the relevant certificates submitted for availing the

benefit of reservation verified from the respective issuing authorities.

vii.) As per A.C. Resolution 40 dated 24/04/1997 of University of Delhi, no student of the University shall be permitted to pursue two degree courses simultaneously either from the University of Delhi or from other University except for part-time diplomas/certificates courses of the University of Delhi.

viii.) For admission to the courses which are governed by the Regulations of the regulatory

bodies, such as Medical Council of India (MCI), All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), Bar Council of India (BCI), National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE), Dental Council of India (DCI), etc., the minimum eligibility requirements prescribed under their respective regulations shall be followed.

5. Protocol for conduct of OMR based Examinations

In order to promote transparency, streamlined proactive information dissemination and to facilitate the candidates with an opportunity to bring out any inconsistency/error in the conduct of OMR based examinations, the University has laid down the following guidelines:

5.1. Disclosure of Answer Key for MCQ entrance examination and other related issues i.) The Department will upload the answer key of an entrance examination conducted for

admission for various courses of study within 24 hours from the conclusion of the entrance examination on the official website of the University.

ii.) The applicant is required to visit the website to check the answer key vis-a-vis the

question paper used. In case of any discrepancy/inconsistency/error vis-à-vis the question paper and answer key, the applicant concerned can register a complaint within 48 hours from the time of uploading of the answer key.

iii.) The email id of the designated official for each Course is given in table provided in

Section 8.1, to whom such complaints are required to be addressed as per the timeline stipulated above.

iv.) The Department concerned shall convene a meeting of their respective boards

immediately thereafter with the following mandate:

1. Check the veracity of the complaints registered 2. In case the complaints have substance, necessary

corrective measures would be taken 3. Corrections, so carried out, would be put on the same

website link where the original answer key was uploaded for convenience of all concerned

5.2. Disclosure of Evaluated OMR Response Sheet (ORS)

i.) The request for obtaining a copy of the ORS by the candidate concerned must be made within 7 calendar days from the date of the declaration of the result to the University in the prescribed format along with a fee of Rs. 500 /- per paper.

ii.) The candidate is required to get the application form verified by the Principal/ HOD of the concerned college/department of the University.

iii.) The candidate is required to attach to a self-attested copy of the admit card/admission ticket for the entrance examination under reference at the time of submission of the application form.

iv.) Payment is to be made in the form of a demand draft drawn in favour of “The Registrar, University of Delhi” payable at Delhi on all working days.

v.) No application for obtaining a copy of the ORS shall be accepted after the stipulated time.

vi.) Entries made by the candidate in the application form should be strictly as per the particulars available with the candidate.

vii.) Erroneous/incomplete application form shall be rejected forthwith. No further correspondence would be entertained in this regard for correction of entries/ refund of fees.

viii.) The application to obtain a copy of ORS should be made by the candidate in one’s own handwriting under the applicant’s signature. No authorization on behalf of the candidate would be entertained under any circumstances.

ix.) A copy of ORS will be supplied by the University after eclipsing all information relating to the identity of the examiner/evaluator/any other official associated with the concerned examination process.

x.) The student is required to collect the copy of ORS from the University from 16th to 30th day from the date of submission of the application to this effect. The University shall have no obligation to retain the ORS or a copy thereof beyond this time schedule under any circumstances.

xi.) On obtaining of a copy of the ORS as per the procedure prescribed by the University, if a student finds any error in totaling of marks or finds any unevaluated answer, the student should communicate it to the concerned department within a period of 7 days from the date of collection of the copy of the ORS. The department will endeavour to address the issue within 10 days from the receipt of such complaint.

xii.) No representation, other than relating to error of totaling of marks or unmarked/unevaluated answers, shall be entertained by the University. No third party request for a copy of the ORS would be entertained by the University under any circumstances.

xiii.) Fee once deposited will not be refunded under any circumstances.

6. University Facilities

6.1. Hostel

University of Delhi is one of the premier institutions of our country and hence draws a large number of students from all parts of India and abroad. The concern for the outstation

students, after securing admission is the availability of a safe and comfortable accommodation. In order to meet the requirements of such students Delhi University offers hostel facilities to both male and female students. The University has a number of hostels in order to ensure such a stay with intellectually stimulating and cross-cultural interaction and to provide freedom with responsibility to the students. The Provost of the Hostel is the administrative head of the hostel. For internal administration and day-to-day discipline, the Warden and Resident Tutor assist the Provost. They are faculty members of different departments. Supporting staffs like house keepers, caretakers and security personals ensure maintenance and safety to the hostel students. The officials continue to strive for upgradation of the facilities to improve the quality of hostel life based on the suggestions and inputs from staff and students.

Eligibility for Admission to Hostel:

The students satisfying the following eligibility criteria will be considered for admission:

1. The applicant should be a full-time degree student admitted to a post-graduate department/faculty of the University.

2. The parents of the applicant should not be residing in the National Capital Territory (NCT).

3. The applicant should not be employed anywhere on full, part-time, ad-hoc or temporary basis.

Admission Procedure:

1. Every hostel has an Admission Committee which constitutes Provost, Warden and the Resident Tutors.

2. Admission to the hostel will be made strictly on the basis of merit as per the list provided by the respective Faculty/Department and is in accordance with the policy laid down by the admission committee from time to time.

3. Reservations of seats under all categories will be strictly followed as approved by University of Delhi.

4. Applicants seeking admission to the Hostel will be short-listed as per merit by the Admission Committee and will be duly notified in the hostel and University website. The applicants included in the short-list will be invited for an interview with the Admission Committee by giving a minimum of three days’ notice. After eliminating the cause/s of grievance/s, if any, the final list of applicants selected for admission out of the short-

listed candidates will be displayed on the Notice Board of the Hostel office. The selected applicants will be invited to take admission by paying the admission fee by a specified date.

5. If admission to a course is made through a written test/merit list/interview in the Faculty/Department/College, the merit so prepared will be followed for admission to the Hostel.

6. No weightage will be given to any other parameter or factor for admission to the Hostel in any case.

7. A student getting admission into the hostel is allowed to occupy a hostel till the last date of examination of the particular programme, which the student is pursuing.

Mode of Admission: In order to seek admission in a hostel, students have to take regular admission in Masters/M.Phil. and Ph.D. programme of University of Delhi. The admission criteria differ from hostel to hostel. In some hostels, only those students who are admitted to PG programme through entrance test mode are eligible, whereas in other hostels admission is based on score of merit list, or merit plus entrance combined score. Therefore it is advised that applicants check the individual hostel guidelines before applying for admission to PG programme.

Tentative Date of Admission and Fee Structure in different Hostels

Almost all the hostels will start their registration process in end of June or first week of July. There are three categories of fees which needs be paid by the candidate after seeking admission in the hostel. These are annual fee, quarterly fee and mess charges. The fee structure differs from one hostel to another and the information can be obtained from the websites of different hostels.

Grievance Mechanism

Complaints, if any, against the applicants short-listed for interview for being considered for admission to the Hostel should be given in writing to the Provost within three days after the display of the list. If necessary, these complaints would be reviewed by the Admission Committee. In view of the fact that name of applicant/s have to be compulsorily notified in the form of a short-list prepared for admission, the name/s of applicant/s, whose objection/s has/have been sustained by the Admission Committee, shall not be automatically included into the final list under preparation for admission. However, the seat/s under dispute will not be filled and the name/s of the student/s whose objection/s had been sustained will be considered for inclusion in the next admission short-list to be notified as per the schedule.

All students staying in the hostel will have to strictly adhere to hostel rules. Due to huge intake of students, all selected out-station candidates may not get the hostel accommodation. Thus, the candidates should clearly understand that the admission to a postgraduate Course would not ensure allotment of hostel accommodation. Accommodation will be offered to the eligible applicants subject to the merit of the student and availability of seat in the hostel. Students generally stay in the Paying-Guest (PG) or in the rental accommodation in the nearby areas.

Delhi University Library System (DULS) consists of more than 34 libraries and is accomplishing its task of reaching to wider academic community. DULS has advanced its web activity with the subscription to many high quality electronic databases being made available through campus network to faculty, students and research scholars. In addition to this 20 more databases are also accessible through UGC-INFONET Digital Library Consortium. DULS also promotes Open Access e-resources. DULS is regularly conducting innovative Information Literacy Programs (ILP) for the benefit of students, researchers and faculty members and also making efforts in developing tutorials to make the community proficient in the use of WWW. W.U.S. Health Centre (Main Campus) is located in the North Campus of University of Delhi. It provides basic and specialized medical facilities to its members/beneficiaries round the clock except on Gazetted Holiday and Sunday from 10:30 AM to 08:00 PM. W.U.S. Health Centre's branches are in South Campus, East Delhi (Dr. B.R. Ambedkar College) and West Delhi (Shivaji College). It provides routine Pathology Laboratory Facilities to the beneficiaries 5 days a week. W.U.S. Health Centre (South Campus) provides basic and limited specialized medical facilities from 09:00 AM to 05:30 PM on all working days. W.U.S. Health Centre (East Delhi) and W.U.S. Health Centre (West Delhi) have single Medical Officers and provide basic medical facilities from Monday to Friday from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM.

6.4. Computer Facility

The Delhi University Computer Centre is the central hub for ICT related services for the University of Delhi. With the commissioning of the University-wide network, via National Knowledge Network (NKN), the Computer Centre is in a unique position to serve the University for all its ICT needs. All University departments and colleges are connected to NKN for resource sharing with all major educational and research institutions across the country. ICT services including internet are being provided across the University using 2 Gbps bandwidth at North Campus and 1 Gbps at South Campus as part of NKN. Delhi University Computer Centre (DUCC) provides varied services to all faculty members, staff and students.

6.5. Sports

The University has highly qualified and experienced University appointed Teachers of Physical Education, along with a Coach, to plan, coordinate and execute the functioning of Physical Education and Sports Setup in the University, at various levels of Co-ordination and co-operation. The DU Sports facility is also supported by 5-7 coaches in various disciplines deputed by the Sports Authority of India from time to time. The main purpose of the organisation is to promote general interest in Games and Sports in the University and to improve the standard of Competitive Sports and Games in the University.

6.6. Conference Centre

The International Conferences are generally held in the Conference Centre on the University of Delhi. This complex has a large air-conditioned conference hall, which can accommodate more than 300 people. The complex also has nine large and medium-sized committee rooms, board rooms, computer room, and space which can be used for video-conferencing and as a media centre. The University community organizes academic conferences, national and international, on campus in this Conference Centre.

6.7. Utility Centre

The University of Delhi provides several amenities for its staff and students convenience. The Utility Centre consists of a post office, banks, D.T.C. Bus Pass counter, Cooperative Store and Railway Reservation Counter for the use by the University community and for the general public. The Cooperative Store makes items of everyday use available at discounted price and is run by the University employees.

6.8. Gandhi Bhawan

The Gandhi Bhawan is a centre dedicated to the study of the words and works of Mohandas K. Gandhi. Gandhi Bhawan holds several programs to further Gandhiji's ideals.

6.9. University Science Instrumentation Centre

University Science Instrumentation Centre (USIC) is a central facility and houses sophisticated analytical instruments. Its main objective is to provide services to all researchers and students of science departments in the University and the constituent

colleges of the University of Delhi. Facilities for carrying out spectral, thermal, chemical and microstructural analysis on a variety of materials are extended to all researchers. A centralized liquid nitrogen distribution facility is maintained for all science departments. Training programs and workshops/seminars are organized regularly for laboratory staff and research scholars in focused areas of materials characterization and analysis.

7. Student’s Aid

7.1. Policies on conduct of students Maintenance of discipline among students; ragging and complaints against sexual harassment shall be dealt in accordance with the provisions of Ordinance – XV of the Ordinances of the University, as amended from time to time.

7.2. International Relations Cell

Globalization affects many sectors of society. Higher education is no exception. Universities worldwide respond to challenges presented by globalization in various ways. Campuses once geographically bound to one physical place now have the opportunity to expand and network between states, regions, and international locations. In addition, technology enables professors and students access to a world of information previously available only at high costs and over long periods of time. The desire for education created by a population that continually seeks education, further supports changes within the university. These forces continue to alter the structure of the university in three ways, which includes changes to the structure of governance, expansion of campus networks, and enhancement of university community partnerships. The University of Delhi has for long been aware of its role in a larger international academic community, and in pursuance of this, the University has been reaching out to fraternal institutions in different parts of the world for collaborative programmes, research networks, student exchanges and so on.

7.3. Central Placement Cell (CPC)

The main endeavor of CPC, University of Delhi is to get students placed in reputed multinationals, government Organisations, NGO's and the private sector. All students registered with CPC will be provided placement assistance, counseling for employment and self/social entrepreneurship. The CPC assures logistic support to the visiting companies at every stage of the placement process by making university infrastructure available to them. The CPC will act as an interface between the industry and the students, and will primarily enable the students to select their career options. The CPC

The CPC also conducts seminars and workshops to enable the students of University of Delhi to become successful professionals.

7.4. Cultural Council

The Culture Council is a place for the most active, talented and creative young people. It is functioning under the Dean, Students Welfare. It is a vibrant cultural body, which organizes a variety of cultural programs/competitions. It reaches out to all bonafide students of colleges and departments of the University of Delhi. The Council, in collaboration with colleges, organizes different cultural activities to enhance the overall cultural skills of the students. 7.5. Students’ Organization

The Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) is the representative body of the students from most colleges and faculties. The student elections are fought keenly and with great enthusiasm. In the past, several of the office-bearers of Delhi University Students Union have gone on to hold public offices in State and Central governments. The elections to Delhi University Students Union are by direct voting by the students of the University and member Colleges.

Q: Is the online registration mandatory for all the candidates applying for the PG/Master’s admission? A: YES, online registration is mandatory for ALL the candidates applying for the postgraduate/Master’s courses (listed in this Bulletin) in the University of Delhi. Q: I wish to seek admission only through the Direct (Merit) category. Do I need to apply through online registration? Am I expected to pay the Registration fee? A: YES, online registration is mandatory for ALL the candidates applying for the postgraduate/Master’s courses in the University of Delhi, irrespective of the mode of intake. You have to pay the Registration fee as well. Q: I would like to change my “Applicant’s details”, which I filled during the “New User registration”. Can I do that? A: No, you cannot change that information later on. Be careful in filling the registration form. Q: I would like to change my Centre of Entrance Examination after completing the online registration form. Is it possible? A: No, candidate shall choose any one of the six cities for appearing in the entrance examination through the online registration. After completion of the online registration, the chosen Centre will not be changed. Q: Is it possible to get the Admit Card through postal mode? A: No, the Admit Cards will only be generated online and will be available on your registration account. Q: When will I be able to download the Admit Card? Is it immediately after filling the registration form? A: Admit Card’s download link will be available in your online account after …th June 2018. A: No, the registration fee is accepted only through the online payment options available in the registration portal. Q: My internet got disconnected while filling the form. What should I do? A: When you get the internet connection, login again with your credentials and fill the information again. Q: How can I correct my mistake in the registration form? I have uploaded the wrong Photo/ID Proof/ Signature, A: No modifications in the form are allowed once fee payment is made. Before making the online payment, you can edit your registration form. Q: How can I apply in multiple courses? Do I need to make payment for other courses separately? A: After completing your application for one course, you can apply in another course using "Apply Now" button on your home area. You need to pay registration fee separately for each of the applied courses. Q: What does the “Final Aggregate” mean? OR What percentage do I need to fill in Update Result for admission under Merit? A: Final Aggregate is the combined total of all the B.A/B.Com/B.Sc. (or equivalent) semesters (or annual) result together. Q: I have uploaded the Final Aggregate Percentage, which has been accepted. But then I was asked to print the form and it still reads Result Awaited. A: Please check the print of the form carefully. There is a row after Education Qualification with the result you have updated. Q: What is the date of Entrance Examination for my course? Q: Can two candidates apply from the same account? A: No, only a single candidate can apply from an account for PG Admissions. Q: Do I need to send a Hard Copy of the form? A: No, you don’t have to send a Hard Copy of the form. If required, you will be notified. Q: How can I upload a self-attested ID Proof? A: 1. Take a photocopy of your ID proof. 2. Self attest it. 3. Scan it and upload. Q:   Will registration fee be refunded or adjusted, if I change my category? A: The registration fee is mandatory for all categories and will not be refunded or adjusted in any circumstances. In case, the applicant changes the category from Unreserved to SC/ST/PwD after the registration fee has been paid, it will not be adjusted. Q: Which are the mandatory fields in the application? A: Mandatory fields are indicated by a red star (*) adjacent to the name of the fields. The applicant must fill the relevant information in these fields to complete the registration. Q: In online portal, I have created my account and filled my registration form. Can I use the same account to fill the registration form for my friend? A: No, only a single candidate can apply from only one account for UG Admissions. Each applicant/candidate must create a separate account and fill the separate online registration form. Q: How can Persons with Disabilities (PwD) access and fill the online application form? A: Such applicants may fill the online application form by using assistive technology. In particular, the visually impaired applicants may use screen reading softwares such as JAWS or NVDA to fill up the application form. Those unable to use computer may take human assistance to fill the registration form. Q: Will there be any disadvantage for gap year students? A: No, there is no disadvantage to gap year students and they would be treated at par with regular students. They should meet the requisite criteria for admission and must possess the necessary documents/certificates.

Admission Procedure:

Admission to the B.Ed. programme is based on a Written Test of 400 marks. The merit will be prepared on the basis of scores obtained in the Written Test. The test will be of 2 hours duration. It will contain 100 questions in MCQ format of 4 marks each. There is NEGATIVE MARKING. For each wrong answer ONE mark would be deducted.

The test will include questions based on understanding and application of concepts in Science, Social Science and Mathematics at school level, language comprehension in both English and Hindi, reasoning and general awareness on social, political and economic issues.
