INTD 280 The Mountain World: An Introduction to Interdisciplinary Mountain Studies
• Lower-level introductory course• Open to all UofA students• Team-taught by an ecologist, a glaciologist, a
physiologist, and a historian• Presently has students from 8 different faculties
enrolled
• Condensed 7-day course• Held in the remote mtn setting• Partnership with The Alpine
Club of Canada
INTD 284 Mountain Backcountry Field Skills
In Development
• Mountain Studies and Skills in the European Alps: A two-week Study Abroad Course held in partnership with the University of Innsbruck
• Mountains 101 – A new Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) to be launched in the fall of 2016. Produced in partnership with Parks Canada, MEC, and the ACC
• Certificate in Mountain Studies - a small suite of courses, which can be embedded in any degree program or a taken alone. It would require courses from across the disciplines and a field experience.
