Oxford Road Corridor is a key growth area within Manchester due the proximity of major institutions, research facilities and technological and cultural assets.

Major investments by Manchester City Council, Manchester Science Partnerships, The University of Manchester, Manchester Metropolitan University and the Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT) have been augmented by new research, incubation and science park facilities.

The University of Manchester is Britain’s largest single site university with almost 40,000 students and 12,000 members of staff.

Located in the heart of Manchester’s Innovation District, Manchester Science Partnership’s Central campus offers a range of workspaces for health, life science and digital tech companies. The campus is home to over 120 companies and 5,000 staff.

The Royal Northern College of Music concert hall is located opposite MBS and has had a £7 million redevelopment. The college has approximately 320 staff and 800 students from 60 different countries. The RNCM is a vibrant live music venue presenting in excess of 400 concerts each year.

Manchester Metropolitan University located to the north of University Green, is the largest campus-based undergraduate university in the UK with a total student population of 37,000.

The CMFT campus includes Manchester Royal Infirmary, Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, Manchester Royal Eye Hospital, Saint Mary’sHospital, and the University Dental Hospital of Manchester. These hospitals have over 13,000 members of staff and over 1 million patient appointments each year.

Circle Square, the brand new neighbourhood in development set on the former BBC site in Manchester city centre is a £750m Oxford Road mixed-use development that offers office, retail, serviced apartments and private residential accommodation as well communal spaces that will be open to members of the public.
