This Universal range of high quality scissor lift platforms withlift capacity from 500Kg to 20000Kg and travel up to 4300mmcomplement the range of heavy duty scissor lift platformsof Saxon manufacture with capacity from 2000Kg to 40000Kg
These lifts are primarily intended to provide a solution formost applications, utilising a comprehensive selection ofcoded options as described on page five of this brochureCommon parts are used throughout for ease of maintenance
A Declaration of Conformity is issued with every lift suppliedstating they have been designed and manufactured to therequirements of the CE Machinery Directive and EN1570 Standard
A safety trip frame is fitted under all four sides of the liftplatform to reduce the risk of an accident when loweringIf an obstacle is encountered the lift will be stopped. Furtherlowering is now prevented until the reset button is pressed
Another safety requirement is the provision of a 30mm wideclearance distance between the scissor mechanism armsto reduce the risk of finger trapping etc. by an operative
An additional, but not mandatory, safety feature can bespecified in the form of collapsible mesh steel curtainsfitted to the exposed long and short sides of the lift platformto restrict the access of operatives into the scissor mechanism
The entire Universal range of scissor lift platforms can bespecification enhanced to operate in the, Petro-chemical,Motor, Air-cargo, Steel, Paper and food industries etc. with specialsolutions for use in explosion risk and hostile environment
The lift illustrated has been pickled and totally immersed inmolten zinc, fully galvanising all the fabricated steel weldedsections, to provide corrosion protection in hazardous areasOther features include a turntable built flush into the liftplatform, a mobile base comprising two fixed and two brakedswivel wheels, and with all electrical components suppliedto IP65 Marine Standard, that will accept a hose down regime
A hand held push button control unit is supplied with eachUniversal scissor lift platform, fitted with a three metre lengthof low voltage flexible cable. The control circuit is a constantpressure design to ensure the lift will stop when raising orlowering the platform, should the control button be released
A heavy duty two pedal shrouded foot control unit can bespecified at extra cost and sited to provide an operativewith the most comfortable, hands free, working conditions
All standard Universal lift platforms are designed for a totalnumber of 100 motor starts or 20 operational cycles per hourControls are 24V AC and wiring is to IP55 electrical standard
The lift platforms are designed to suit the rated capacity andare recommended for a uniformly distributed contract load UDLIf off-set loads are required please consult our sales department
Pallet loading utilising a manually operated pallet truck willnecessitate the provision of a scissor lift pit incorporatinga surround angle and duct for the electrical supply as shown
The hydraulic power pack is normally a fully integrated unitand fitted with a three phase electrical motor. A 16 amperetriple pole and neutral switched fused isolator will generallybe a sufficient electrical supply to operate any lift in the rangeLifts can be specified fitted with a 240V single phase motor

FEED AND STACK HANDLING SYSTEMS
LOADING STEEL COILS ONTO AN UN-WIND MACHINE
E-SHAPE LOW PROFILE SCISSOR LIFT
ASSEMBLY WORK STATIONS
Experienced, qualified Saxon Lift Sales Project Engineers willvisit industrial or commercial customers to discuss theirrequirements and applications, agree a solution, then raisea specification and quotation for which an order can be placed
The 15000Kg scissor lift platform shown in the photographis designed to accept the impact loading of the heavy steelcoils in the closed position, when loaded by a fork lift truckThe lift is then raised by manual control to align the core ofthe coil with the axis of the mandrel on the unwind machine
Hydraulic cylinders then side-shift the coil into position onthe mandrel, the lift will then retract to receive another coil
Saxon Engineers will undertake complex design and buildprojects, where the lift and shift of loads is involved, for thematerials handling requirements of process industry, thatwill comply with the relevant Euro Standards and Directives
Timber and board manufacturers have many situations whereAuto-feed and stack systems may provide the best solutionThe adjacent application shows two scissor lift platformsworking side by side to provide a continuous material flowIn that lift no.1 is fully loaded and lift no.2 raises to receivethe next stack, whilst the mobile powered roller table, thatcan be seen, travels to remove the finished load from thelift no.1 and take it onto the next operation in the process
As and when a flexible working practice is necessary and adedicated lift position is impractical or the use of rentedpremises precludes the building of a lift pit in the floor slaba low profile scissor lift could provide an acceptable solution
The example shown in the photograph is a Universal typeULPE 1-0.8-1.0 E - shape scissor lift platform designed to acceptthe direct loading of two and three bearer Euro pallets onlyutilising a hand pallet truck operating at finished floor level
Four way entry Chep type pallets can only be handled bythe use of a low profile flat top scissor lift platform with aramp, or a vertical mast type pallet lift closing to floor level
Many manufacturing companies are realising the benefitsof providing each assembly worker with an individual workstation, that can be adjusted to provide the most comfortableworking conditions to achieve sustained efficient working
Greater productivity is generally attained with a noticeableimprovement in product quality and ‘right first time’ resultsbeing recorded during test, prior to packing and despatch
The Universal scissor lift platform seen in the photographis surface mounted complete with access ramp to facilitatethe Roll - on Roll - off, of the machines at floor level, thusobviating double handling and ensure maximum through-put
