Membership is for one year, and in or-der to be continued it must be renewed an-nually by application to the Conference Board. Their standing in the Conference body from year to year depends upon their conscientiously adhering to the standard adopted. Therefore it behooves each leader to keep the Constitution, By-Laws, and I of Ethics clearly in mind. The sug-gestion has been made that each of us read this document through carefully the first of every month, becoming thoroughly fa-miliar with the principle and the steps necessary for carrying it out in relation to our ministry.

Members are not obliged to attend the Annual Conference every year, but their attendance is desired when possible.

Any leader whose name does not appear in the list of members can become a mem-ber by fulfilling the requirements as stated in the Yearbook, and applying to the 1936 Unity Annual Conference. If your appli-cation for membership was not received in time for this publication, it can be resub-mitted to the 1936 Conference.

II The motto of this group shall be "We

look to Christ as the directive head of this movement, inspiring:, guiding, and prosper-ing us."

Ill We shall always and is every way within

our ability assist in the advancement of the influence and power of any center in which we visit or speak. We shall always recom-mend its ministry and services both publicly and privately to all within its territory.

IV We will not seek in any way, directly

or indirectly, to draw to us correspondents or personal students from any center or group in which we have been a guest speaker.

V In any center or group in which we

have been a student, we will fully co-oper-ate with and obtain the approval of the leader of the group or center, as well as cooperate with the Field Department of Unity School, before we perform in any way, directly or indirectly, a personal heal-ing ministry, or begin any personal or group teaching.

VI We will not attempt to carry on Unity

work in any city without first obtaining the full approval of the Field Department for such work and securing the co-opera-tion of already active and progressive Unity workers in that vicinity.

—26—

VII We recognize the advisability of the

Field Department's sanctioning the estab-lishment of an additional center in any city where statistics and information show that the field is not already adequately covered.

VIII It is the sense of this organization that

we work in perfect harmony and accord with the Field Department of Unity School in our speaking and teaching program, that we place no speaker or teacher on our platform who is not acceptable to the Field Department, and that we consult the Field Department whenever the teacher, lecturer, or course of lessons is subject to doubt.

IX It is incumbent upon each and every

member of Unity Annual Conference to hold in esteem and respectful regard all fellow members and to use all rightful means to protect the personal and profes-sional honor of every other member.

Each member will also respect the work, both public and private, of his fellow mem-bers, will uphold them in their endeavor to carry on the practices and duties of the Christian ministry, and will render at any and all times such cooperative assistance as may be solicited and mutually agreed upon, no member interfering with the work or practice of another.

As a minimum measure of recognition it was decided that students who have re-ceived credit for work over a period of four years and have satisfied the Training School Board and the Field Department of their fitness to conduct a ministry are en-titled to a certificate as recognized leaders.
