Tones of skin, races, religions, castes are all just an excuse to separate us from each other. The human race as one unit is a force to be reckoned or so to say, it was. When we began to be consumed by greed and our own pride, we pushed those we deemed weak or to lowest of places and never gave them a thought or even the respect that was due to each and every human being. Have you ever paid attention to sturdy brick walls? How they are placed so intricately close and held together by cement? How they stand strong and hand-in-hand regardless of the scorching sun, or even be it pouring rain? We humans built them unfortunately we have failed to be what we envisioned and meant to be strong and everlasting.

When there is mention of war, the significance of our unity shows. The unity we supposedly possess has become a myth. Unity is when we become one. A united force bound by love, loyalty and sense of belonging. It is indeed rare to come across such things in today’s society thus we are bombarded with a sea of news regarding wars, uprisings and rebellions that are just as destructive as a grenade.

There are rare showcases of unity that will leave you spell-bound. Do you still remember when Bolton player Fabrice Muamba collapsed in the midst of a game? He was even declared effectively dead. Resurrection is impossible is it not? No modern medical technology or medicines made it possible but here, we witnessed that unity surpassed everything. People around the world regardless of race, religion or ethnic prayed for him. The man, who was regarded as dead, came back as answer to all of their prayers. Here, humanity won as unity prevailed. If we as one can bring back a life, it is proven that the unity we forge and possess harnesses unsheathed power.

Unity begins and should exist everywhere. Parents should educate children to maintain a sturdy relationship among siblings. Children are akin to a white sheet of paper, they evolve to become what they are through the things they are taught. So, if you toil to mold the younger generation, and teach them the importance of unity, they will ensure a concrete nation, thus evolving into a close-knit relationship between all human beings on planet Earth.

Unity plays a vital role in ensuring the success of governments, organizations and even households. In a group, although there is a leader, the co-operation offered by the members is priceless, because what is a ship and its captain without a crew right? Here it is, the most successful organization or governments are made possible by officials and citizens who stand hand-in hand. This criterion is deemed important to overcome dilemmas that may rise along the

way. When we are united, we are invincible, we may face challenges but we never falter as we know that there is another trustworthy soul backing you up. Be it, a government an organization, a sports team or a family. United, we stand.

Where unity is powerful, antagonism is just as powerful. When we are divided, we give another the chance to separate us and wreak havoc. When we separate, we become vulnerable and weak. We begin to voice out opinions differently and fail to face the fact that someone has to give in. Thus, attributing to quarrels that develop to become wars among nations, because divided, we fall.

Thus, united we stand, divided we fall.
