Introductory Remarks

Overall very positive feedback on a single entry point to the UN. 

Definitely a great need in terms external and internal communications

• “We only ended up with a EN one sentences of an English press release WDR and never new how to get in touch; You have all our support … ”   (WDR Lokalzeit, 19.10.2013)

• “Was waiting for more than three years to have a counter part at the UN with whom I can liaise with” (DHL, External relations for Bonn, April 2013)

High level of expectations and workload• First month were shaped by setting up the affiliation of the unit 

within UNV and UN Bonn• At the same time considerable amount of operational requests

‐ CIU supported media work 6 times on request (UNCCD, UNV, UNEP‐AEWA, UNFCCC, UNU, UN‐Spider) e.g.  with 12 German translations, mailing of 12media releases,  providing media contacts, handling media enquiries etc.
