Unit Rates Think Fractions! In a unit rate, the bottom number is ALWAYS 1! Example: minimum wage is $7.25/hour

A – 30 miles per inch B – 15 miles per inch C – 30 inches per mile D – 15 inches per mile
Proportions Set up two equivalent rates in order to solve for an
unknown Cross multiply to find the unknown Always be consistent with ratios! Example: 5 apples / 4 oranges = 3 apples / x oranges
Solving Proportions - Problem 2
A – a =9 B – a = 3 C – a = 18 D – a = 2
