Fables Unit Plan Tuesday
Analyzing the Learner• 3rd grade
• 8-9 years old
• 20 children: 11 boys - 9 girls
• 80% of students are White, 20% percent of students are African American
• Appalachian Area
Main Objective!• My students will recognize characteristics of a fable, and will be able to tell what
is and isn't a fable. • They will do this by 1. Watching Voki on my Wiki introduce “Personification” 2. Observing Photo Edit about Personification on my Wiki 3. Use Second-Life application to communicate with animal avatars that are being
personified 4. Listening to and deconstructing fable podcast posted on
my Wiki 5. Competing to be the first to label a story I link on my Twitter as a #Fable or
#NotAFable • My students will accomplish this by the end of Tuesday with 100% accuracy.
