Pre- History
• People were hunter-gathers and moved place to place in order to survive– Tools of wood, bone and stone– Learned to make fire
• 10,000 years ago people began the NEOLITHIC REVOLUTION– Developed the first agriculture
• Settled permanently near rivers to grow crops
– Domesticated animals– Many different cultures developed all around the same time
in different places
Neolithic Revolution
• People settled permanently near rivers
• Farming created a surplus of food
• The food surplus gave people the ability to become specialized workers
• Civilizations/ cities created the need for laws and government officials
• Specialized workers and extra time created the opportunity to advance technology and inventions
