    UNIT 8 : OUR CULTURAL HERITAGE

    LESSON : READING

    OBJECTIVES :

    - Define the meaning of cultural heritage;- Recognize different types of elements of

    Our cultural heritage;-- Students will make inferences about their heritage and interpret

    folktales from their culture

    Students will determine the relevance of the customs and traditionsof their own heritage and relate to the heritage of other parts of

    Morocco.

    Students will learn about the heritage of themselves and of variousgroups within the context of Morocco from the perspective of the

    past and within diverse groups

    Learn vocabulary related to our cultural heritage.TEACHING AIDS :

    - Pictures of some Moroccan traditions- Blackboard- chalks

    I. Warm-up (4) - T shows Ss some pictures related to Moroccan cultural heritage.- Ss will demonstrate different aspects ofThe Moroccan Cultural heritage. Some of the aspects a teacher can cover

    are the following

    Teacher starts the discussion with questions to elicit vocabulary related tolesson

    Have the groups brainstorm all

    the different ideas that represent their aspect of

    cultural heritage

    II. Pre- reading (7) - Presents some words and structures+ tutor (n)

    + interrupt (v)+ tragic (a)

    III. While reading (23) * Task 1 (5)- Guides Ss what to do

    - Have Ss read silently the passage phrases in task1

    - Asks Ss to read the passage again and do the task

    - calls some Ss to give their answers

    IV. Post- reading (10) - Elicits Ss meanings of the words provides. Gives meanings of words if

    necessary- asks Ss to discuss to find some evidences

    information

    - gives some cues and asks Ss to summarize the text- call some group leaders to present the summary

    V. Homework (3) - learns words by heart and use the words in after you read to makesentences

    - prepare and tell your partners a life of a Vietnamese famous person
