Meet the Gang!

In order to understand Peanuts, you need to meet the main

characters in Peanuts.

Snoopy

superior intelligence vivid imagination

daydreams a lotfearless but cautious about “the cat next door”

Charlie Brown

worried about trifles his friends call him “blockhead” or “wishy-washy”

the target of the joke

considerate, friendly and polite

will never give up in his quest to triumph over adversity

Woodstock

a bird and tiny

gets a little insecure

a little inept

his flying and logic are erratic

Being Snoopy’s practical jokes

Linus

intellectual

He has philosophical revelations and solutions to problems

He suffers abuse from his big sister, Lucy.

He suffers the unwanted attentions of Charlie Brown's little sister, Sally.

Despite his age, he can put life into perspective while sucking his thumb.

Lucy

bossy, crabby and selfish

She is loud and yells a lot.

Her smiles and motives are rarely pure. If she's paying one--she's probably up to something devious.

She’s a know-it-all who dispenses advice whether you want it or not.

a real grouch

Sallyalways looks for the easy way out, particularly at school, where her view of life reflects much of the frustration and confusion kids experience

Her speech is riddled with malapropisms.

Pigpen

Pigpen is happily messy. He doesn't try to explain it, hide it, fight it.

He walks around in a cloud of dust, sprinkling dirt on all he comes in contact with.

Franklinis thoughtful and can quote the Old Testament as effectively as Linus

has the fewest anxieties and obsessions

Rerunmore skeptical than his brother, much harder to convince, and always gets around Lucy where Linus gives in.

longs for a dog of his own, but since his parent won't let him have one, he tries to "borrow" Snoopy from Charlie Brown. Snoopy won't have any part of it unless Rerun brings cookies

His only fear is being the passenger on one of his mother's bicycle-riding errands.

To create a comic strip, you need to decide three

things :• The setting• Your point of view• The summary of your strip

For example, if your comic strip is “Three little pigs”…

• the setting: the pigs’ houses in the woods on a nice warm day

• the point of view : in 3rd person• the summary: a hungry wolf chases

three pigs who hide in a straw, wood, and brick house to evade the wolf's hungry clenches.

Now, think of a subject or plot, it’s

time for you to create your own strip!
