Would you eat a 3D printed hamburger?Who would have thought that we would one day be able to consume printed food? The future is now, ladies and gentlemen.

3D printing or Additive Layer Manufacturing is a process that consists of a multitude of technologies that are used to fabricate physical objects directly from computer-aided design (CAD) sources. In a nutshell, as long as you can design it in a machine readable format, it can be printed. Food is squeezed out layer by layer from a 3D printer and since there is no limitation on design, food can take on more complex and interesting shapes. Finally an excuse for you to play with your food!

Companies are jumping on the 3D food printing bandwagon.

#Chokia

For Easter, Nokia printed its own logo and called it #Chokia. The average #Chokia bar weighs 30 grams and has about 164 calories or 6% of a man’s recommended daily calorie intake.
