Visitor ManagementUNIS features a full Visitor Management module. From enrolment offingerprints, hosting information to restricting to certain periods ofaccess. Repeat Visitors can easily be granted access again thoughthe Visitor Lookup function

Authentication for Visitors is done on the UNIS server and needs thesystem to be on-line to be able to use Visitor Management

Flexible Template ManagementEnrolment of the fingerprint templates is made easy with thevisual GUI when an enrolment station is installed. UNISallows for up to 10 fingerprints per user to be enrolled on thesystem and Registration and Authentication levels can bemanipulated per User to cater for individuals with poorfingerprints

UNIS automatically checks for Dual and Similar Fingerprintsto combat fraudulent User creation. Templates are stored inboth the UNIS Database and a select amount of fingerprinttemplates can be sent to terminals for fail over operation.Template authentication happens on the UNIS Server andwill revert to the Terminals’ internal Database should thenetwork go off-line for whatever reason.

Real Time MonitoringThe ViRDI system uses PUSH technology andtransactions gets sent to UNIS as they occur. Thislessens network traffic and results in real-timemonitoring of the system

Powerful Access Control Functionality

Time ZonesUp to 12 transaction bands (start and end time) can be created for each dayand a specific authentication method can be assigned to every transactionband

Access TimesTime Zone Rules (transaction bands) are applied to individual days of theweek. Multiple Access Times can be assigned to an individual day

Custom Access AreasViRDI Terminals and Controllers are grouped together to form Access Areas.Time Zone Rules are then assigned to terminal groups

Access GroupsAccess Times and Custom Access Areas are assigned to a specific group ofUsers on the system

Access Group SchedulingSet up schedules to move a specific group of users from their default groupto a new group i.e. move dayshift workers to nightshift. The schedule can beset up to automatically repeat after a defined time period

Anti-PassbackViRDI Terminals are grouped together into “IN” and “OUT” areas and anti-passback is determined by these areas. This is a UNIS server function andwill not be operational if the Server or Network is inoperable.

If the MCP-040 door controller is utilised anti-passback rules will reside in thecontroller memory and will be operational even if the Server or Network isoff-line. It is however only applicable to the doors under the direct control ofthe door controller

Blacklist User ManagementUnwanted or undesirable Users can be Blacklisted. This removes the User’saccess to the system but keeps the Users’ fingerprint templates and detailson the Database for future exclusion

Transaction Recording and ReportingUNIS provides a full customisable Transaction Recording and Reportingfunction with full audit trail. Flexible data selection makes reportingconfigurable by User, by Terminal, by Date, by Authentication method etc..

Reports can be printed or exported to .csv file format for further manipulationin Microsoft Excel.

Message Broadcast FacilityPersonal and Global messages can be sent to ViRDI Terminals that havemassaging capabilities. Global messages will appear for every usertransacting on the Terminal . Personal messages will be custom messagesfor individuals and will display only when the specific Users transacts

Emergency Alarm ActionsViRDI Terminals are able to receive a digital I/O signal from variousemergency systems. UNIS allows for configuration of a sequence of actionsthat should take place if such a signal is received i.e. open all doors, sende-mail notifications etc. Together with UNIS In/Out Board evacuation lists canautomatically be printed for EHS / OHS compliance.

Intrusion DetectionThe ViRDI MCP-040 door controller has an on-board 8 Zone IntrusionDetection system that can manage Intrusion Detection devices such as PIR,Reed Switches, Active Beams, Sirens

UNIS allows for the configuration of this Intrusion Detection system, allocatezones, force arm, assign authorised key holders to arm / disarm the system,assign actions to programmable outputs and reporting to the UNIS Site MapMonitoring

Admin Authority ManagementManages customised levels of Administrator Authority on the system. Certainrights may be applicable to certain Users while other may have no rights oradmin authority whatsoever. The Master Administrator can configure theserights according to the site specific requirements.

Site Map MonitoringFully interactive map for site monitoring purposes. Displays transactions,events and alarms in real time. Customised maps in .jpeg or .png can beimported and icons can be assigned to denote devices being monitored

Database ManagementUNIS has the ability to use various Database software packages. TheDatabase can be seated on the same computer as where the UNIS Serversoftware is installed (as is the case when native Access is used) or theDatabase can be situated on a separate managed SQL or Oracle server withUNIS Server only acting as fingerprint Authentication and Access ControlManagement Master. UNIS uses ODBC drivers which makes integration withthird party Time & Attendance software quick and easy

UNIS Web InterfaceUNIS Web Interface is an optional add-on module to allow Users to viewreports on-line via an Internet browser. The web interface can be hosted bythe User or can be hosted in the cloud

UNIS IN/OUT BoardUNIS In/Out Board is an optional add-on module GUI that indicates whichUsers are on site, which Users have left the site and which Users have notbeen to site for the day. It allows for evacuation lists to be printed incompliance with OHS / EHS requirements. Single user systems can utilisethe native Access Database but multi-user systems will require an SQLDatabase.
