    UNIQUE SOLOMON GRENADE

This is a simple design; in its simplest form it is simply a Solomon Bar that is

continually doubled until the desired look is achieved.

    CORD USED:

12 Feet of 550 Type III Paracord

Make two Half Knots as shown in the image. Pay

close attention to the Half Knot that is on top, it

will need to remain on top all the way down.

Pull the Half Knots tight and measure the vertical

length. It should be 2 inches from the bottom

    loop to the very top.

Tie another couple of Half Knots.

The first Solomon Bar will be complete once you

have only a small amount of the loop remaining.

Flip the Solomon Bar over to start doubling the

    Solomon Bar.

This part of the knot could be different youre your

design, depending on the length that you have

    decided to tie your knot.

When starting a doubled Solomon Bar, the strand

that will go on top will always be the one that ispointed downward. Notice that with mine, the

strand on the right side is pointed down which

means it will be my top strand.

Pull the knot tight. At this point you may want to

start tightening the top and bottom parts of the

knot design a little bit tighter than in the middle

because once you have completed tying theGrenade; it will make the design bulge out in the

    middle.

    Continue tying towards the bottom.

    Tighten the knot.

Flip the doubled Solomon Bar over. Notice this

time that the strand on the left side is pointed

downward; this will be your top strand.

    Pull it tight.

Continue tying toward to complete the second

    doubled Solomon Bar.

Flip the Solomon Bar over once again. The strand

on the right side is pointed downward so this will

    be the top strand.

    Continue tying Half Knots.

Flip the Solomon Bar over for the last time. The

strand on the right is downward so it will be the

    top strand.

Continue tying Half Knots until youve got the

    right bulge in your design.

The Solomon Bar part is completed at this point.

For clarity, I have flipped the Solomon Bar over.

To make a pull-handle for the Grenade, I opened

one of the loops at the bottom of the knot using

the tips of my hemostats, anything that is pointed

that isnt sharp enough to cut or tear the paracord

will work. Then I made a loop with the right

strand and then inserted it into the hole that I just

    opened.

Bring the strand up and over the loop and then

back down to form a knot.

Now use your scissors to cut the excess cord, and

then carefully use your lighter to singe the ends of

    the cords
