SHT # NAME ISSUED REVISEDTHE NAU UNION BUILDING 30C WAS BUILT IN 2007 AS AN EXPANSION TO THE EXISTING UNION BUILDING. PORTIONS OF THE BUILDINGS CMU WALLS WERE CLAD WITH PORCELAIN TILE. THIS TILE HAS STARTED TO DELAMINATE. THE SCOPE OF THIS PROJECT IS TO REMOVE AND REPLACE THE TILE ON THE BUILDING WITH A PREFORMED METAL PANEL CLADDING RAINSCREEN. IN ADDITION TO THE NEW CLADDING A NEW GUARD WILL BE BUILT AROUND THE PORTION OF THE STRUCTURE THAT IS ADJACENT TO THE PEDWAY TO HELP PROTECT THE STRUCTURE AND CLADDING FROM SNOW PLOWING. THE CMU WALLS IN THIS BUILDING WERE ALL INSULATED ON THE INTERIOR WITH SPRAY FOAM INSULATION. INSULATION WILL NOT BE ADDED IN THIS SCOPE OF WORK.

NOTES:THE CONTRACTOR WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ENSURING THAT THE APPROPRIATE GOVERNMENTAL ENTITIES ARE NOTIFIED OF THE WORK.

1. EXERCISE DUE CARE DURING THE DEMOLITION PORTION OF THE PROJECT SO AS TO MINIMIZE DAMAGE TO THE EXISTING CONSTRUCTION AND COMPONENTS OF THE BUILDING. PROVIDE TEMPORARY WALLS WHERE AREAS UNDER CONSTRUCTION CAN BE ISOLATED FROM THE UNDISTURBED BUILDING AREAS. ACCESS TO THE PROJECT AREA IS TO BE ISOLATED FROM THE ACCESS TO THE UNDISTURBED PORTIONS OF THE BUILDING NOT IN THE SCOPE OF THIS PROJECT.

2. ALL DEMOLITION REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE WORK IS TO BE FIELD COORDINATED BY THE CONTRACTOR. THE CONTRACTOR IS REPONSIBLE TO REVIEW THE PLANS AND COORDINATE ALL TRADES NEEDED TO COMPLETE WORK AS IS SPECIFIED HEREIN AND AS MAY BE REASONABLY IMPLIED.

3. COORDINATE ALL DEMOLITION ACTIVITIES WITH THE BUILDING MANAGEMENT. WORK SUBJECT TO EXCESS NOISE IS TO BE CONDUCTED DURING MANAGEMENT APPROVED HOURS

4. ALL SCREENED LINES REPRESENT EXISTING CONSTRUCTION TO REMAIN. ALL ITEMS SHOWN DASHED INDICATE THAT THEY ARE TO BE DEMOLISHED, REMOVED, OR SALVAGED AS NOTED.
