600 crore has been allocated for Protection and regeneration of forests.

200 crore from the National Clean Energy Fund to launch GREEN INDIA MISSION(GIM).

A number of projects under the National Ganga River Basin Authority have been approved in 2010-11. This momentum will be further stepped up.

… Drop in funding in the segment of Forestry and Wildlife

protection, which is from Rupees 7.93 billion in 2010-11 to Rupees 7.85 billion this year.

4% increase in the budget allocation for the ministry of environments and forests compared to last year,  i.e. from Rs.220 million to Rs.230 million.

What we want..??

• Increase forest-based livelihood income of about 3 million households living in and around the forests.

• No hesitation while allocating money to Forestry and Wildlife protection.

• Balanced budget for regeneration of forest, cleaning of river and lake etc.

• More focus on Green India Mission (GIM) program.

What They Gave…??

• National Innovation Council set up to prepare road map for innovations in India.

• Special grant provided to various universities and academic institutions to recognise excellence.

• The NInC report has actually chalked out a multi-year innovation policy and has proposed, for example, an India Inclusive Innovation Fund, which would eventually have a corpus of Rs 5,000 crore, to back

…• The National Knowledge Network (NKN) will link 1500

institutes of higher learning and research.• During the year 2011, 190 institutes will be connected to

NKN.• Since the code will be ready by March 11, the connectivity to

all 1500 institutions will be provided by March 2012.• National Innovation Council under Shri Sam Pitroda has been

set up to prepare road map for innovations in India. • The process of setting up State Innovation Councils is under

the frame work. • The National Innovation Council has 16 members and Pitroda

chairs that council in the rank of a cabinet minister.
