Overview

Unied Data Center

Today's data center architecture must support business-critical applications such as video and big data while supporting a highly mobile workforce. As the evolution to cloud-based models continues, IT needs to be capable of easily incorporating cloud applications and services into this portfolio.

To meet these diverse requirements, Cisco oers the Unied Data Center platform. This data center architecture combines computing, storage, network, security, and management into a simplied infrastructure designed to automate IT as a service (IaaS) across physical and virtual environments. The results are increased nancial eciency, more agile business responsiveness, and simplied IT operations.

The Cisco Unied Data Center architecture delivers greater agility and exibility through three critical components: unied computing, unied fabric, and unied management.

Unied Computing

Cisco Unied Computing System (Cisco UCS) unies computing, networking, management, virtualization, and storage access into a single, integrated, fabric computing architecture. This unique architecture simplies server conguration, management, and provisioning while helping to enable visibility, management, and control in both bare metal and virtual environments. Cisco UCS is optimized for the new world of virtualization and cloud, better enabling the delivery of IaaS.

Unied Fabric

Cisco Unied Fabric provides the foundational connectivity. By unifying storage, data networking, and network services, Unied Fabric delivers architectural exibility and consistent networking across physical, virtual, and cloud environments.

Cisco Unied Fabric supports convergence, network scale, virtualization-awareness, and intelligence through the industry-leading Cisco NX-OS.

Unied Management

The Unied Management component of the Cisco data center architecture features unique management solutions for integrated systems and cloud management. These solutions dramatically simplify the deployment of Cisco UCS-based solutions and include cloud automation, self-service provisioning, and catalogues which can help customers deliver a true private cloud solution.
