Title:Traditions and families of the Espanglish pirates

•Funciones:Hablar sobre un evento que les ocurrió en el pasado. También explicar recetas.

Functions:To talk about an event that happened to them in the past. Also, to explain a recipe.

•Temas del Currículo:

Practicar la teoría explicada en los diferentes cursos de Secundaria en relación al pasado. Por

ejemplo, practicar la teoría explicada sobre el Past Simple or Past Continuous o incluso el Present

Perfect en cursos superiores. También repasar los verbos irregulares y el vocabulario relacionado

con la familia. Finalmente practicar el imperativo y el vocabulario relacionado con la comida en

recetas.

Topics of the curriculum:

the idea is to practice the theory studied in the different courses of Secondary school in relation to

talking about the past. For example, practicing the theory explained about the Past Simple or Past

Continuous or even the Present Perfect in higher courses. Also, work with the irregular verbs and

review the vocabulary related to the family. Finally, they will practice the imperative and the

vocabulary related to food in recipes.

•Objetivos:

•Aprender a hablar sobre un evento en el pasado.

•Los alumnos de cursos inferiores deberán aprender a contar historias en el pasado con expresionesmás sencillas.

•Los alumnos de cursos superiores deberán coger confianza a la hora de utilizar expresiones máscomplicadas para contar una historia pasada.

•El objetivo principal será que los alumnos cojan confianza a la hora de expresarse por escrito en otroidioma

•Ver que es un idioma real, que otros jóvenes utilizan para comunicarse y apreciar la utilidad delidioma extranjero.

Objectives:

• To learn to talk about a past event

• Students in lower courses will learn to tell past stories with easier expressions.

• Students in higher courses will get confidence in expressing in a different language

• The main goal will be that all the students get confidence when writing in a foreign language.

• Another important goal will be that students see the foreign languages they learn in class arereal and used by students of their same age.

• Intercambiar fotos de cuando era niños pequeños y tienen que adivinar quién son

• Escribir una historia que les pasar cuando eran pequeños.

• Los alumnos que quieran pueden presentar a sus mascotas

• Intercambio de recetas.

• Un alumno español presenta lo que vamos a hacer en este tema en un vídeo: guía Comenius.

Activities:

• To exchange pictures of the pupils when they were little kids and they have to guess who theyare.

• To write a story in the past.

• To show and talk about their pets

• Exchange of recipes

• A Spanish student explains the topic in a video: Comenius guide.

At the end of the didactic unit the learners should be able to:

•To know more information about their partner’s past.

•To write a story about themselves in the past.

•To apply the linguistic knowledge acquired to produce language.

•To show respect for the activities planned in the project.

•To show respect for the new country, culture studied, for the lessons and for their classmates.
