Projects: Community Mapping The mapping of a community is important so that we will know what and how serious a problem is in that particular area. All the collected data will be used to determine the next course of action.

Latihan Aktivis Dalam Isu Sosial [LANDAS] (Activist Training) LANDAS is our core program where we train people to become social activist. Training comprises theoretical and practical modules within three series. They will be taught how to communicate, organize and act as an activist.

‘Ops Sayangi Remaja’ Independence Day, Malaysia Day, New Year and Valentine’s Day are the days when many of our youths have a tendency to deviate and do the negative. During these occasions, we will gather around 50 – 100 activists and we will spend time with them in places they like. We will approach them with advice and not to impose law. We come with a smile and not with discord.

Outreach with love The ‘good’ must not build gaps with the ‘bad’ in a society. We live in a same small boat. If their part of the ship is leaking, we will all sink together. Find them, smile, and spread love. But, before you do that, let us give you some training. Call us when your team is ready.

Public Forums Knowledge is power. To educate is to empower the community so they will know how to solve social problems within their neighborhood. This is a monthly program and we will usually get calls to conduct these forums at the requested locations.

Advocacy and Policies Discussion

Those in power should not leave this hefty task to us alone. They too should help create better livelihood by implementing the right policies. Through our research and information, we propose some ideas and solutions.

Bike Explorer These youths love to ride bicycles. The problem is, they don’t know how to ride it right. With 150 members at the moment, we have formed a group called ‘Bike Explorer’ to teach these youths to be better cyclists, injecting some moral advice along the way.

‘Wayang Pacak’ (open cinema) People in general love to watch cinemas. So we set up one for them at open public places like R&R stations, markets, and public fields. The films are about awareness and action. It’s free for everyone.

RAUDHAH (Rehabilitation Center) In 2008, we started a rehabilitation center for women to provide a better environment for them to change. The rehab is situated in a 2 acre land complete with a wooden kampung house, a gazebo, a rambutan orchard and a cabin. Unfortunately, due to financial and administration problems, the centre had to be closed. We hope that this center can be reopened to help those in need of spiritual support.

Homeless Project Homelessness is a common scene around Georgetown. We provide free food for the homeless and some motivational advice. In future, we hope that a comprehensive shelter will be build where they can live, and learn to be competent in this wild urban world before they find a job and a proper place to live.
