Expert Tips

• Check if glass is scratch-resistant and suitable for scraper use. Unsuitable

for use - e.g Plexiglas, crown glass, solar glass, safety glass (ESG). Follow

the manufacturer‘s care instructions.

• Perform a scrape test in advance on an inconspicuous section.

• Before starting work, check the glass for damage and report it,

if necessary.

• Check the blade for damage and change it, if necessary, or reverse it.

• The surface to be scraped should always be wet.

• It is best to use a release agent, e.g. „Unger Liquid“.

• Always scrape in one direction! Never pull the scraper back - scratch risk!

• After scraping, check if adhesive or stucco residues are stuck to blade.

If necessary, change or reverse blade.

These tools are screwed onto the Acme thread ofthe Unger cone. Thus, they have a tight and securefit. Hard to reach areas can easily be cleaned.

Avoid working on ladders• Unger telescopic poles allow you to work safely up to 10 m height, while standing firmly on the ground.

• The Unger Locking Cone ensures safer operation, since the tools lock in place and cannot drop.

• Most accidents with ladders are caused by wrong handling, and not their damage.

• Always check whether cleaning from the ground is a safe option. If not, discuss safe alternatives and corresponding costs with your client.

• Always insist on safe working conditions. Do not risk your life just because the client does not accept certain services!

• Loosen cooked on foods and oils by scraping the griddle surface with the Unger ErgoTec® Long Handle orShort Handle Scraper.

• Scraping at a low angle will remove the greatest amount ofcooked on foods, and will protect the griddle surface fromblade nicks and scratches.

• Lower the griddle temperature, as recommended by theequipment manufacturer or cleaning chemical manufacturer.

• Apply industry standard grill cleaner or liquid degreaser toentire surface of griddle.

• Scrub surface of griddle using a woven abrasive pad. Use theGriddle High Heat Squeegee to maximize cleaning leverageand improve staff safety.

• Remove loose foods and oil from the griddle surface usingthe Griddle High Heat Squeegee.

• Cover all sensitive cooking equipment like fryers, ranges andgriddles before applying liquid cleaner overhead

• Dip Unger Corner Brush into bucket of solution and scrubcracks, crevices and tight areas first.

• Use 4‘ or 8‘ OptiLoc poles for extended reach (Note: You maywant to remove filters during hood cleaning).

• Fill the Sprayer On A Belt with concentrated cleaningsolution.

• At low soilage level reduce the concentration.

• Fill the 28l bucket with clear water.

• At high soilage level flush the surface with much water afterwork.

• Spray cleaning solution on the microfibre sleeve with theSprayer On A Belt.

• Clean stainless surfaces using MicroStrip Washer sleeve andSwivel T-Bar.

• Use Sprayer On A Belt repeated to dampen the sleeve.

Step 5: Hood Drying

• Remove cleaning solution from hood surface using the Microfibre Cloths / Velcro Scrubber combination.

• Dry and polish surface.

• Change cloth if wet.

Step 6: Storage

• Rinse all tools in clear water after use.

• Hang on wall above floor to allow to air dry.
