    Promotions are the set of marketing activities undertaken to boost sales of the product or service.

    Promotion of any product is used for promoting the product in front of customers.

    Through promotion people come to know everything related to that product.

  • Objectives of promotion:

    Increasing salesLaunching new productsCreating and building brand equityEstablishing market positioningStrengthening brand image

  • Promotional modes

    For meeting the objective different modes and methods/ strategy of promotion is coordinated are deployed to achieve the result.

    Definitely advertising and promotion spent are increasing and cost effectiveness of all the medium is reducing with time as number of medium are increasing with time

    There are different methods of promotion like:

    Advertisement- like TV, radio, press, outdoor hoardingsPersonal Selling- face to face selling by a seller to a buyerSales Promotion- Price cuts, buy one get one free, Prize drawsSocial media- Facebook, Twitter

    Unethical advertising is a serious issue in todays society.

    Children compared to adults are heavily influenced advertisements, and are more susceptible to them.

  • Unethical promotional modes have an adverse effect on the society.

    Social values are getting eroded (spoil)

    Moral values have become fragmented and the society is facing a new cultural evasion (avoidance).

    Junk food and toys are being advertised to children everyday, and the children do not have the knowledge to distinguish between healthy food that is good for them and food that is unhealthy.
