PRAYER BEFORE MASS
O God, who in this wonderful Sacrament have left
us a memorial of your Passion, grant us, we pray, so
to revere the sacred mysteries of your Body and
Blood that we may always experience in ourselves
the fruits of your redemption. Who live and reign
with God the Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. -AMEN
A new Bible study with Seminarian Lucas
LaRoche will take place
Wednesday evenings from 7-8:00 pm in the room off
the coffee room and repeated Thursday mornings
from 9-10:00 am. Begins this week. All invited!
After the 10:00 am
Mass today, there
will be a Procession
with the Blessed
Sacrament in
observance of the
Feast of Corpus
Christi.
The weekend of June 29th Fr. Donato will celebrate all
Masses at St. Joseph Church. After the 10:00 am Mass,
we will have a buffet luncheon in the Church Hall in
his honor to show our gratitude and wish him well.
All are invited to attend!
Feast of Corpus Christi is a Eucharistic solemnity, or better, the solemn
commemoration of the institution of that Sacrament. It is the Church's official act of
homage and gratitude to Christ, who by instituting the Holy Eucharist gave to the Church her greatest treasure. Holy Thursday, assuredly, marks the anniversary of the institution, but the commemoration of the Lord's passion that very
night suppresses the rejoicing proper to the occasion. Today's observance, therefore, accents
the joyous aspect of Holy Thursday.

EXPLANATION OF THE ROE ACT
Currently before the Legislature of Massachusetts are two identical bills proposing the “ROE Act” (HB 3320: “An Act Removing Obstacles and Expanding access to Women’s Reproductive Health” and SB 1209: “An Act to Remove Obstacles and Expand Abortion Access”). The Legislature may very well act on these bills this summer. If passed, they will: expand abortion access, including late-term abortions, during the nine months of pregnancy for virtually any reason; eliminate any requirements that late-term abortions be performed in a hospital; eliminate the requirement that provides medical care to a child who survives an abortion attempt; eliminate the requirement that a minor under the age of 18 have the consent of a parent, guardian, or the courts; and expand state funding for women who cannot afford the procedure. James Driscoll, the Executive Director of the Massachusetts Catholic Conference, will make a presentation on this important matter at Christ the King on Tuesday, July 9 at 7:00 pm. All are invited to come and learn what steps can be taken to oppose the passage of this legislation.
