IntroductionAs your business or organization grows, it’s important to build your brand and maintain trust throughout various cultures. Outsourcing to a Language Service Provider (LSP) will allow you to localize your communication with individual markets. As a result, your customers will feel much more comfortable throughout the customer journey and you can rely on the LSP to complete all the necessary translations.
There are many ineffective methods for translation, including purchasing translation software or using a fragmented and decentralized translation memory. If your organization uses these methods, it’s time to stop.
A translation management system (TMS) automates translation efforts, which reduces the cost of supporting local language content. But not all translation management systems are equal. Some use decentralized translation memory, which has to be managed, adding to the overhead costs of doing translation. In addition without the translators and staff to manage the translations process and quality the translation management system is nothing more than a tool looking for someone to wield it.

As companies or organizations expand to global markets, it’s important for content to connect with the local markets in their respective native languages. Natives can tell when the content doesn’t flow the way it should, and it’s likely that they’ll lose trust in your organization because the content seems foreign or difficult to understand.
Most other translation software agencies complicate the translation process. There are three main areas of focus when it comes to translation: ensuring a positive experience for clients, a high-quality software for the agency, and providing a user-friendly system for the translators. Usually, translation agencies only choose one of these categories while the other two suffer. They either force their translators to pay to use the software, they sell the software instead of ensuring a positive customer experience, or they only focus on a specific industry. We’ll discuss later in this E-Book how UNIFY solves these issues.
Another major issue with corporate translation programs is a fragmented translation memory system that creates inconsistency during translations. In this type of technology, it’s common for the same phrase to have multiple translations based on different linguists’ preferences.
When different linguists work in isolation and they all translate the same sentence differently; their translation memory doesn’t know which one is better and keeps all versions. This process builds a database of so many options that it’s impossible to remain consistent with all of the content. Many companies also handle translations by emailing Word documents and tracking progress with spreadsheets, which is time consuming and inconsistent. This manual process is much more costly in the long-run and it’s more susceptible to error. Non-localized language content, translation errors, and old data will cause customers to lose trust in your business or organization.
