T O P 1 0 F A Q : D I G I T A L E D U C A T I O NIS BIOLAGE COLOR A PERMANENT HAIR COLOR? No. Biolage Color is deposit only, no lift, no-ammonia, no-damage plant-based haircolor.

IS BIOLAGE HAIRCOLOR ALL NATURAL? Biolage Haircolor is not considered “all-natural”. However, it is 82-100% plant-based and all formulas are vegan.

WHAT DOES PLANT-BASED MEAN? We consider ingredients to be plant-based if they are composed of one or more herbal ingredients; carefully selected, purified and coated with coconut oil for reliable color performance.

HOW IS BIOLAGE COLOR CONSIDERED ORGANIC IF YOU HAVE TO PRE-LIGHTEN DARKER LEVELS IN ORDER TO USE SOME/MOST OF THE SHADE? Biolage Haircolor is not considered “organic”; however every formula is 82%-100% plant-based with less than 10 ingredients. Biolage Haircolor is deposit only and does not lift; however is designed for and can be used on natural or previously color-treated hair with the ability to deposit various reflects (see packaging), depending on the use of one or more of the 20 shades.

DOES BIOLAGE HAIRCOLOR CONTAIN HENNA? Yes, however we purify our henna so there are no added metallic salts. Not all shades contain henna. The shades that contain henna: Elderberry Violet, Chamomile Gold, Pinenut Beige, Rhubarb Blonde, Plum Steel, Chestnut Brown, Clove Brown, Carob Brown, Ginger Copper, Cranberry Brown, Hibiscus Blonde.

WHERE DO THE DIRECT DYE PIGMENTS COME FROM? Biolage Color features the use of 5 of the least sensitizing direct dyes, hand selected out of 200 possibilities to assure the utmost integrity to the hair and scalp.

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST? Depending on the shade and porosity of hair, our formulas last up to 20 shampoos.

CAN I APPLY BIOLAGE HAIRCOLOR TO NATURAL AND COLOR TREATED HAIR? YES. Both natural and previously color-treated hair. Be Mindful: if the hair is uneven, the end result will be uneven. For best results it is advisable to cleanse with Clean Reset Shampoo or your favorite R.A.W. Shampoo before applying desired shade.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO APPLY AND PROCESS BIOLAGE HAIRCOLOR? Applied directly to clean, towel-dried hair (For best results apply to hair that is 80-100% dry). Best when used with bowl and brush. Avoid direct application to the scalp as staining will occur. Cover hair, and process. For deep saturation, or up to 50% grey blending, apply a heating source (up to 113F) for best results.

HOW LONG DO I PROCESS BIOLAGE HAIRCOLOR? Processing times: 10 min high shine toning, 15 min sheer all-over refreshing, 30 min all over grey blending.

WHY MIX BIOLAGE COLOR WITH HOT WATER? Hot water is used to activate the ingredients and homogenize the formula. All shades have optimal mixing temperature as denoted on pack, however all shades can be mixed at 212 (boiling water) with results acceptable within the range denoted on the digi switch.
