NATURE OF RESILIENCE

Ability to dynamically re-strategise as circumstances change

RESILIENCE is the ability of adapting well in the face of adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats or other significant sources of stress. -American Psychological Association

Recover quickly from difficulties and adjust to the new normal

Assessed during complex and challenging times e.g. Covid-19 Pandemic

WHY RESILIENCE?

Resilience shapes the way an organisation responds to and manage the stress of change due to turbulent times

Most employees are used to routine (way of doing things) hence uncertain times usually pose as a threat

An organisation without resilience instilled as working culture faces great difficulty in overcoming the uncertainty due to lacking preparation and expectation for turbulent times

In contrast, a resilient organisation is always prepared to adapt according to the new normal, minimizing the adverse impact to the organisation’s operations
