Urban Corridors: The reinforcement of the notion of corridors that connect visually, physically and socially the city of Newark.

The architectural idea behind this project was derived by the urban corridors of Newark, Nj. These urban corridors connect visually, physi-cally and socially the city. It was only appro-piate to extend this network of urban corridors into the proposed residential proposition. The way the urban corridor was implemented was in the form of a street. Through the architecture of the complex, interaction of spaces further reinforce the notion of an urban corridor.

Market

Design _2011 Location_Paterson,Nj Software_ Rhino, AutoCad, Vray, Photoshop, Illustrator

The architectural idea behind this project was to create a meet-ing point where segregated community of Paterson can come together. This is achieved through the use of architectural shifting that was inspired by urban fabric. In the market, the segregated community comes together in a series of courtyards that have branching alcoves. The market serves as a meeting point to bring a segregated community together.

Paterson // A City Segregated by Race

An interesting aspect of the urban distribution of the city of paterson is that the major ethnic groups that are divided by districts are connected by a major axis : a street

The architectural idea behind this project was to create a series of cabins in where once inside, one will expe-rience a sense of isolation with nature. However, at the same time, one will feel like he or she is outside which creates a series of interplay between inside and outside spaces. By doing so, the cabins blur the line between inside and outside.
