“Project SEARCH is an evolving transition program for qualifying students who do not currently have aplan in place following graduation. Every year we experiencenew needs and individualize a support system for them,” saysErin R. BCC NEWS

BCC Annual Years of Service RecognitionPublicly recognizing our dedicated staff who have been an extended part of our Beechwood, Blocher and

Asbury Pointe family is always a pleasure. Each year, staff are honored for their multiple years of service for providing quality and compassionate care to our residents. Together, we celebrate at a luncheon in their honorwhere they are awarded with a special gift. Our sincere thanks to these dedicated staff members who havegiven our residents so much for so many years! BCC CEO, Daniel O’Neill; Asbury Pointe Exec. Dir., KarenGrady and Blocher Homes Admin., Barb Gorenflo...help celebrate their milestones.

John Repetski Friendship Walk & Gardens

On May 16th, family, friends residents and staff gathered for the dedication of the John Repetski FriendshipWalk and Gardens funded by his very generous legacy gift. As mother natureoffered “tears of joy,” throughout the dedication, Reverend Mary Ann Pula’s

thoughtful and beautiful words about John . . .the man, brother, uncle, friend and generousbenefactor. . .touched everyone’s heart. After the dedication and reception, the sun beganto shine just in time for family and friends to take a stroll throughout the newly planted gardensand paved pathways on the entire Beechwood campus.

John Repetski was a gentle man who came to know Beechwood Continuing Carethrough moving into Asbury Pointe, our independent retirement community, over 15 yearsago! A retired GM engineer and former Marine, Mr. Repetski was an avid walker. Hewould walk the entire Beechwood-Asbury campus daily, stopping by to visit the development staff to get an updateon the latest news of our continuum; or just give a quick salute as he walked by the office.

Through his generosity, our residents, families and staff will be able to enjoy nature and all it hasto offer for years to come. We can’t think of a better way to honor his memory.

Help Us Celebrate and Honor Life at Beechwood Continuing CareAs part of Welcome Home. . .our commitment to our residents is that “life” need not halt when moving into Beechwood or

Blocher . It is our goal to help them transition into a new life that offers many experiences that make them feel they are home. We have several special “quality of life” programs that are committed to bringing smiles to their faces and peace in their

heart. Nothing is more rewarding than to see our residents, their families and friends enjoy life together at Beechwood andBlocher Homes. We are asking for your support of these very special programs which are critical to our residents’ well-being.

Gardens & Walkways Fund ~ A Breath of Fresh AirBeechwood and Blocher Homes are blessed to have lush green campuses full of beautiful gardens and ponds to enjoy,

pathways to stroll, and tree shaded benches that provide a perfect place to visit with family and friends. Funds will be used toenhance and maintain these gardens, ponds and walkways so that residents can continue to enjoy. . .a “breath of fresh air” foryears to come.

All God’s Creatures…Great and SmallWe at Beechwood Continuing Care welcome pets of all sizes. Beechwood Homes has an open pet program which includes

pets and visits from both staff and family pets. Our program is based on the Eden Alternative model and is an integral part ofour “Welcome Home” initiative that is all about the resident experience. Presently, we have two bird aviaries and a therapycat named Abby who provide hours of entertainment for our residents. Both Beechwood and Blocher Homes are alwayslooking to bring in special animal programs for our residents to enjoy, but they are often costly.

With infusion of funds to this program, we are hoping to not only sustain but grow our pet and animal visiting programs. Maybe even raise butterflies for our gardens!

Peace of Mind…Thanks to the Living Care FundThe Living Care Fund ensures that we can keep our promise that all our residents remain with us for as long as they need

our care . . . regardless of their personal financial resources. This fund is critical for our future. This is the fund that helps usbridge the gap of Medicaid reimbursement and our actual cost of daily care for our residents at Beechwood. This is the fundthat allows Blocher Homes to assure their residents that if they are running out of funds, not to worry as we will work withthem to ensure that Blocher remains their Home.

Lastly, and most important. . . future support for these “quality of life” programs ensures they will never diminish due tolack of funds. Please consider a gift to one or more of these funds which go a long way in providing a real home for our agingresidents.
