Information needed for Dual Hard Drive replacement The following information is required to image the POS Terminal with the correct software. The store personnel will have to identify the POS Terminal and Pinpad models using the example pictures provided within the proceeding pages.

Gather the following info:

1. Store number

2. Terminal number

Note: The server is always Terminal ID 1 whether standalone or terminal/server combo. So if the store has a standalone server, the first POS terminal on the floor is Terminal ID 2, the second is terminal ID 3, and so on.

3. POS Terminal model (refer to the following pages for help identifying the model):

a. 4800-783, 4800-E83 (wide or narrow)

b. 4800-784, 4800-C84, 4800-E84 (wide or narrow)

c. 4800-785, 4800-E85 (wide or narrow)

d. 4810-350, 4810-E50 (compact models)

4. Narrow or Wide POS Terminal model

Note: Wide models contain a built in UPS, narrow models do not. In certain cases, narrows can replace wides, but not the other way around due to space restrictions. The best policy is to replace like for like.

5. Pinpad model (refer to the last few pages for help identifying the model):

a. VeriFone MX860

b. VeriFone MX870

c. VeriFone MX925

d. Ingenico 6550i

6. Point of Contact (name of store personnel)

Finding the System Label on the POS Terminal

Wide model Flip the Access Panel down and locate the black label just to the right of the Hard Drive Cage door as shown below:

Narrow model Flip the Access Panel down and locate the black label just to the right of the Hard Drive Cage door as shown below:

Older IBM models will have a flat Fascia while the newer Toshiba branded POS will have more curvature to it. That is the only distinguishable feature, other than the logos. The internals are the same so an IBM can replace a Toshiba and vice versa.

Compact model Locate the black label located on the left side of the Front Panel as shown below: (4810-350 and 4810-E50 only)
