A stress analysis is made of the vertical tail surfaces of the XB-36 bomber. Using methodspreviously employed, loads, yaw and gust conditions, rudder shears and bending moments, rudderstructural characteristics, tab effects and rudder torsions, rudder pressure distributions, andnet rudder spar shear flows have been determined. Summaries are included of design loads andrudder hinge loads. Results of the analysis are shown in tables, diagrams, graphs, and formulas.
