TOSS PLAY

• This simple play can be the best if properly executed.

C = CREATE (We must create a gap at the point of attack)

P = PULL (Get as many people as possible at the point of attack)

P = POP (The runner must “pop” Through the point of attack)

Page 8: Unbalanced Single Wing

Roots of the Double Wing

• Double Wing Strengths1. Balanced2. Simple in design/easy to install3. Works well with power and misdirection4. Great results

• Double Wing Weakness1. Limited play options2. Have to coach motion routes (wingbacks)3. Communication without offensive lines between backs

Page 9: Unbalanced Single Wing

Unbalanced I Stack Strengths

• Formation will allow strength of numbers• Element of surprise (first sound)• Create mismatch at P.O.A• Run a complete offense:

1. Toss2. Sweep3. X-Toss4. Pass

Page 10: Unbalanced Single Wing

Why Run It?

• Get more bodies at the P.O.A• With formation and play (TOSS)• Beat the defense with the MOST• (Formation and play) FIRST (1st sound)

Page 11: Unbalanced Single Wing

Coaching Points1. MINDSET your players need to believe that this offense is UNSTOPPABLE and

they take OWNERSHIP of it.2. PERSONNEL they are the “baddest player on the field,” only the best most

physical can be on the team. Best run blocker, best kick out blocker, best downhill runner.

3. ALIGNMENT OL foot to foot, FB aligns inside shade of and one yard behind the T.E. The FB is two to three feet behind the FB. RB is four to five yards in the “I” position.

4. Huddle after the play is called the offense SPRINTS to the L.O.S run the play on first sound. (This must be practiced repeatedly/set tempo.)

5. PLAYS (complete offense) Toss Sweep X-Toss Pass
