Revolution Sweeps the Middle East The November 8,2011 report on Iran from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has added fuel to the fire in an already volatile region. For years, the nations of the world have accused Iran of seeking nuclear technology in order to obtain nuclear weapons . However, the IAEA inspec­tions have always been somewhat ambiguous and inconclusive. Israel and the United States never fully trusted IAEA Director Mohamed EIBaradei from Egypt.

However, the latest IAEA report, released by new !AEA Director General Yukiya Amana, stated that evidence found during the last inspection indicated Iran was pursuing nuclear weapon capabilities. Some news reports stated that Iran would have five nuclear weapons by April 2012.

Israel has stated repeatedly that Iran with a nuclear weapon would be an existential threat to the nation of Israel, and that Israel would never allow the possession of nukes by Iran. Israeli media recently reported that Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak both favor a military strike to stop Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. It was published in Great Britain that senior ministers had been told by the government to prepare for a strike against Iran by Israel around Christ­mas, or by the first part of 2012.

In the meantime, The US Air Force took delivery of a new 1S-ton bunker­buster bomb. This new bomb can reach targets 200 feet underground before exploding. One day later, the Pentagon held a successful test of a Hying hypersonic bomb that will give military planners the ability to strike targets anywhere in the world in less than an hour.

Talk about wars and rumors of wars! All of this becomes especially alarming when we know the Bible pre­dicts a huge war that will begin in the Middle East very soon.

The world will not end in 2012, as many people fear. However, if the war prophesied in Revelation 9:13-15 would occur this coming year, which certainly could happen, then 2012 would be the most cataclysmic year in the entire history of mankind. e-

Q. For years, I have thought that the head wound, which gets healed in Revelation 13:3, was referring to the Anti­christ. Is this what you teach? - Sharee

A. It's impossible to understand this passage unless you understand what the seven heads on the Revelation 13 beast symbolize.

There are a total of seven heads on the four beasts in the prophecy of Daniel chapter 7: one head of the lion (Great Britain), one head of the bear (Russia), four heads for the leopard (Germany), and one head fo r the ten-horned beast (yet to be established). The beast of Revelation 13 is simply all of the beasts of Daniel 7 merged into one beast with all seven heads retained.

Revelation 13 says that one of those seven heads was wounded to death. Which one? A beast in Bible prophecy always represents a nation or kingdom. Multiple heads on a beast symbolize the number of times that kingdom will rise and fall . The four heads on the leopard represent Germany's First Reich, the Second Reich, Hitler 's famous Third Reich, and the Fourth Reich, which is now rising.

After the conclusion of World War II, the allies wanted to deal with "the German problem." Germany had plunged the world into war three times in the last 80 years . They decided Germany had to be weakened by d ividing her into East Germany and West Germany. When this action was taken, the headlines actually screamed, "Germany is dead!" When the Berlin Wall came down in 1989 and Germany was finally reunited in 1990, the media called it the healing of the wound through the heart of European civilization.

Remember, the prophecy does not say a man was wounded to death. It says one of the seven heads of the beast was wounded to death.

D ear Irvin Baxter, Endtime Ministries represents a vision parallel to an

earlier time in Bible history when John the Baptist was speaking of the Lord's first coming in Matthew 3:3, " ... The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord ." The difference is that now is the end time, and we are looking for the second coming of Jesus Christ when He will return for His saints .

We could certainly inject more than a few accolades of our personal feelings of how great God is using Irvin Baxter Jr. and the End time staff to reach and instruct souls to em­brace the gospel of Jesus Christ, but that would be less than a definitive statement of your mission.

I recall a time long ago when I received the baptism of the Holy Ghost and how that experience so impacted my senses that I did not know quite what to do with myself for several days! I was thirty-three years old then and now I am seventy, but still at t imes I have a hard time figuring out what to do with myself. Our attitude is of immense grati­tude that our names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life, and I firmly believe that, if people intend to go to heaven, we need to be active participants in the process .

Q. We know from the book of Genesis that Satan was in the beginning with Adam and Eve. Then, he went before God with the sons of God in the book of Job. And then in Revelation, John saw a vision of a war in Heaven where Michael and his angels defeat Satan and confine him to the earth. What is his present status concerning all of these scriptures? - Richard

A. Satan still has access to the throne of God in Heaven. And he does appear before God as an accuser of the saints. The Bible calls h im the "accuser of the brethren." However, the Bible tells us that a time is coming soon when he will try to overcome God one last t ime. This will happen 3% years before Armageddon. At that time, he will be confined to the earth and will no longer be allowed access to heaven .

Q. How can you give an end time timeline when the Bible says no man knows the day or the hour? - Stacy

A. We may not know the exact day or hour, but will we know the times and the seasons? Yes. In I Thessalonians 5:2-5, the Apostle Paul wrote to the Thessalonicans and said, "For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night... But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night." Notice that Paul said the Lord only comes as a thief in the night to t hose that are living in dark­ness. But for those that are living in the light, the day of the Lord will not overtake them as a thief.

Q. I recently had a person tell me t hat the Battle of Arma­geddon occurred in 70 AD. Is this true? If not, can you give me a scripture to prove it? - Jim

A. The destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD was not the Battle of Armageddon. Here's how we know. Revelation 16:12-16 says that, when the sixth vial was poured out, the Euphrates River was dried up to make way for the kings of the east to come down against Jerusalem for the Battle of Armageddon. So, the kings of the east are to cross the Euphrates River and invade Israel at the t ime of Armageddon.

Who destroyed Jerusalem in 70 AD? It was the Romans. Where is Rome located? Due west of Israel. So the Romans were not the kings of the east , and 70 AD was not Armageddon.

Q. Does everyone depart from this world by way of the grave? - Lynn

A. No.1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 states, "For the Lord him­self shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." At the rapture, those Christians still alive on earth wUi be instantly changed from mortal to immortality and will be caught up to meet Jesus in the air.

Q. When did the white horse era begin? - Eli

A. The four horses mentioned in Revelation 6:1-8 and Zechariah 6:1-8, represent the four major belief systems in our world today. Their official colors are: white, red, black and green. The white horse era you are referring to is the era of Catholicism, which began around 300-325 AD when Constantine merged paganism with Christianity.

Q. My question is about the Antichrist and the temple. I was taught that he would defile the temple by eating unclean food in it. Is that true? - Larry

A. No. One explanation of the Antichrist defiling the Jewish temple is found in 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4, which states that he will stand in the re-built Jewish temple and proclaim that he is God. This event is called the Abomina­tion of Desolation.

Q. Where does the Bible say t hat we will have a body like Jesus, after the rapture and can walk through walls? - Kelly

A. Philippians 3:20-21 says, "For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself." The Bible tells us that, at the rapture , we will be changed from mortal to immortality and that our body will become like His. We also know that Jesus, after His resurrection , actually walked through walls according to John 20:26.

Q. Do you believe in the doctrine of imminency, which states that Jesus could come back at any time? - Christine

A. No. The Apostle Paul knew that certain events would have to happen before the Lord would return. He actually taught against the doctrine of imminency in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3, "Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand (imminent). Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition." (7

The Bible prophesies that a peace agreement between Israelis and Pales ­tinians will be signed. The agreement will place the Temple Mount under a sharing arrangement between Israelis and Palestinians with international supervision, will allow for the build­ing of Israel's temple on the Temple Mount, and will give the West Bank (biblical Judea) to the Palestinians for their homeland. Consequently, Netanyahu declared a ten-month building freeze to allow President Obama to get peace talks restarted. However, Palestinian President Mah­moud Abbas continued to avoid re­engaging in peace negotiations in spite of pressure from the United States. September 2, 2010 Abbas finally agreed to return to peace talks just three weeks before Israel's building freeze expired. This was a calculated move by Abbas. He thought Obama would pressure Netanyahu to

that Israel had frozen building for ten months and still Palestinians had refused to participate in peace negotiations. October 30, 2010 Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salam Fayyad announced his intention to continue moving forward with the second year of a two-year program of institutional capacity-building to lay the groundwork for a future Pales tin ­ian state. A document released by Fayyad's office forecasted that the PA would complete all the major reforms and initiatives necessary for the creation of an independent state within the coming year. November 10, 2010 Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas told his aides to ask the United Nations Security Council to recognize the FA as a new Arab country, to be called "Palestine." November 30, 2010 Palestinian Prime Minister Salam

May 22, 2011 In one of the most pro-Israeli ad­dresses ever delivered by an American president, Obama corrected the harsh impression Israel gained from his May 19 Middle East speech. He explained to the 11,000 delegates at the AIPAC

(American Israeli Public Affairs Committee) conference that the final Israeli-Palestinian borders would differ from the 1967 lines because of the "mutually agreed swaps" he had also advocated. May 24, 2011 Netanyahu spoke before a joint ses­sion of Congress explaining why 1967 borders were indefensible. He received thirty standing ovations. Many believe this was one of the most important speeches ever given by an Israeli prime minister. June 26, 2011 Palestinians officially decided to re­quest UN recognition of a Palestinian state based on pre-196? borders. This move would bypass negotiations and circumvent the Oslo Peace Accords, which called for final borders between Palestinians and Israelis to be determined by negotiations between the two parties. He stated that settlements were the primary cause for the failure of the peace process. He repeatedly accused Israel of occupying Palestinian lands while never mentioning that these lands have never been con trolled by Palestine. Jordan occupied these territories prior to the 1967 War.

Abbas hurt the Palestinian cause terribly when he accused Israel of undertaking excavations that threaten Muslim holy places. Everyone with any knowledge of the situation at all knew Israel had never conducted any excava­tions within 500 feet of the Dome of the Rock or the al-Aqsa Mosque. These charges were blatant lies that destroyed Abbas' credibility.

Abbas made one interesting argument concerning Netanyahu's

The moderates will be strengthened; the radicals will be kept at bay. And don't worry about the pesky details of how Israel will actually defend itself; international troops will do the job.

These people say to me constantly: Just make a sweeping offer, and every­thing will work out . You know, there 's only one problem with that theory. We've tried it, and it hasn't worked. In 2000, Israel made a sweeping peace offer that met virtually all of the Palestinian demands. Arafat rejected it. The Palestinians then launched a terror attack that claimed a thousand Israeli lives.

In 2008, Prime Minister Olmert made an even more sweeping offer. President Abbas didn't even respond to it.

n September 23, 2011, Palestinian President Mah­moudAbbas spoke to the United Nations General Assembly on behalf of the Palestinian Authority

(formerly known as The Palestinian Liberation Organiza­tion--PLO) and the Palestinian people. Minutes before his speech, Abbas submitted to UN Secretary General Ban Ki­Moon Palestine's application for full membership in the UN.

Even though the United States had warned repeatedly that it would veto the Palestinian statehood bid, Abbas urged the Assembly to recognize Palestine as a state with J une 1967 borders and Jerusalem as its capital. Abbas claimed that Israel's presence in the region breached inter­national law and prior UN resolutions.

Throughout his speech Abbas referred to Israel as ~the occupying power," and "the occupation army." He lamented the udisplaced Palestinian owners" and "occupied East Jerusalem."! Abbas affirmed, "the goal of the Palestinian people is the realization of their inalienable national rights in their independent state of Palestin e, with East Jerusalem as its capital, on all the land of the West Bank including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip, which Israel occupied in the June 1967 war .. .. ") This inflammatory rhetoric has caused an impasse to a peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians for decades .

Even so, many world leaders are sympathetic with the Palestinians and agree that some Jewish settlements in Israel are illegal. On June 4, 2009, when President Obama gave his controversial speech in Cairo, he called on Israel to end any further construction in the ~occupied terri tories."] Previous administrations have been more supportive of Israel's claim to the a rea.

So, who is right? Does Israel have a stronger connection to the land than the Palestinians? Or, is Israel ~occupying" the region without just cause? Generally, in the law when there is a land dispute, a title search or land grant provides the answer. In this case, the rightful owner is clear if the Bible is t aken seriously.

THE ORIGINAL LAND GRANT The Jewish link to Israel dates back over 4,000 years when God told Abram to take his wife, Sarai, their family mem­bers, and all of their possessions and go "unto a land that I will show thee." (Genesis 12:1) God sent them to a region at that t ime known as the land Canaan. (Genesis 12:5)

Once Abram passed into Canaan , God appeared with a promise to him and his seed saying,

"Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates." (Genesis 15:18)

"[ will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you. The whole land of Canaan, where you are now an alien, [ will give as an everlasting possession to you and your descen­dants after you; and I will be their God." (Genesis 17: 7-8)

The land grant from God to Abram and his descendants sounds clear enough and unmistakable. So, why all of the wars and boundary disputes? The age old question is, to which descendants was God referring-the Jews or the Arab Palestinians?

WHO ARE ABRAM'S DESCENDANTS? As Bible scholars know, Abram's wife Sarai was barren , and the promises of God seemed impossible to her. After

waiting ten years for children, Sarai offered her handmaid, Hagar, to Abram "that [may obtain children by her." (Genesis 16:2) Hagar bore Abram a son named Ishmael.

Present day Palestinians trace their roots as descen­dants of Abram through Ishmael and claim that God's ever­las ting covenant with Abram and "his seed" was referring to Ishmael, thus the land belongs to them. It would be difficult for anyone to dispute that Ishmael was Abram's descendant. However, the rightful heir to the land is resolved by further reading.

When Abram was ninety-nine , God appeared and confirmed to him his covenant with him and his seed again, changed his name to Abraham, changed Sarai's name to Sarah, and promised her a son at age ninety. (Genesis 17: 1-15) When Abraham heard this, he questioned God and even tried to persuade Him to choose Ishmael as the prom­ised seed. He still was trying to help God accomplish the promise, as though God needed assistance. (Genes is 17:18) Nonetheless, God made it very clear to Abraham that He was still in control.

"And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac; and [will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him. And as for Ishmael, [have heard thee: Behold [ have blessed him and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceed­ingly: twelve princes shall he begat, and I will make him a great nation. But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the nen year." (Genesis 17: 19-21)

ABRAHAM'S DESCENDANTS TEMPORARILY LOSE POSSESSION OF THEIR LAND A quick spin through history shows Isaac's son, Jacob, had twelve sons that became the twelve tribes of IsraeL A famine in Canaan drove Jacob and his twelve sons and their families to settle in Egyp t where their descendants were forced into slavery for four hundred years.

Around 1446 BC God chose Moses to lead Abraham's descendants out of Egyptian slavery. This exodus took forty years, and in 1406 BC after Moses died, Joshua led the Israelites back into Canaan. There they re-possessed the Promised Land and established the sovereign nation of Israel for the first time.4

Over the next several centuries the Israelites enjoyed periods of peace along with times of war. A Jewish monar­chy was es tablished with Israel's first king, Saul, (c. 1020 BC) followed by King David (c. 1004-965 Be) who estab­lished Israel as a major power in the region.5

Israel was conquered by the Babylon ians, Persians, Greeks, and the Romans. The Jewish temple in Jerusalem was destroyed twice . In 60 BC when the Romans conquered the land of Israel they banished the Jews, and Roman Emperor Hadrian re-named the region Palestine after Israel's long-standing enemy, the Philistines.s Repeatedly, the Jews were granted the administration of Jerusalem, only to be expelled from Israel completely for centuries.

ABRAHAM'S DESCENDANTS REGAIN POSSESSION OF THEIR LAND: ISRAEL IS RE-BORN In 1917, the British ended 400 years of Turkey's Ottoman rule of the region , and Allied Forces divided the territory into countries. British Foreign Min ister Lord Balfour recognized the Jew's historical link to their homeland. In The Balfour Declaration of 1917, he pledged support for

Israel's celebration was short-lived. The next day seven surrounding Arab nations (Egypt, Trans-Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Yemen) invaded Israel

They launched never ending attacks on the Jewish Palestinians in an effort to drive them out. The British tried to maintain peace but finally had enough and turned over the Jewish! UN Resolution 181 called for the Jews to give up even more of their land in order to establish an Arab Palestinian state next to a Jewish Pales­tinian state with Jerusalem to

" ll To the contrary and in what seemed the impossible, when the war ended 19 months later, Israel survived. Egypt occupied the Gaza Strip, and Trans-Jordan occupied Judea-Samaria (the West Bank).

In 1950, Trans-Jordan formally merged the West Bank, granted the Palestinian Arabs full citizenship, and re­named itself Jordan. As a re­sult, the Arabs received nearly 85% of original Palestine. From 1949-1967 all of Judea-

After six days of fighting and a stunning military victory over her aggressors, Israel captured territory several times larger than the 1948 bor­ders- the Sinai Desert from Egypt, the West Bank and all of Je rusalem from Jordan, and Syria's Golan Heights.!] Afterward, in an effort to restore peace to the region , Israel agreed to allow the Arabs to remain in the West Bank, Gaza, and inside par ts of IsraeL No doubt, Israel has regretted this gesture of peace ever since.

ISRAEL'S RIGHT TO EXIST? For centuries Israel has fought to pre­serve her God-given borders. She has tried to negotiate land for peace with her enemies, has withdrawn from the borders God promised to Abraham and his rightful descendants, has been attacked repeatedly by surrounding Arab nations, has participated in Middle East "peace" conferences, and has signed agreements to work toward a two-state solution with the Palestinians. Yet, the world still debates Israel's right to exist in her own land. This is preposterous.

Israel's right to exist does not come from the Palestin­ian Authority, the Un ited Nations, or an American Presi­dent. Israel does exist-- because God Almighty says so.

Prime Minister Menachem Begin said it best when

God's promise for Ishmael was only for a nation. God's covenant with Abraham and his descendants through Isaac was for the land. Israel cannot il­legally occupy land that legally belongs to Is rael. e

Will America Accept a Nuclear Iran? The world learned to its horror the price of appeasement when, fearing war, it allowed Adolf Hitler to ignore t he Treaty of Versailles. More than 50 million people paid the price. Now the world is facing another mad dictator­ship in Iran . America and its NATO al­lies, weary from years of figh ting, fear another war. Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, recently pub­lished an analysis that said America has no choice but to accept a nuclear­armed Iran. The Iranian leaders have concluded that America is weak because of its economic problems and that it doesn't have th e stomach for another war. The dictators in Iran have been calling for the removal of Israel and have openly stated that a Palestin­ian state is just the beginning. Will we see history repeat itself?

Is China Planning Surprise Missile Attack? According to author and columnist Gordon Chang, Chinese flag officers may be in the process of planning to destroy the American homeland with a preemptive barrage of nuclear­tipped missiles. He pointed to last year's WikiLeaks revelations and the recent public comment on them by Xu Guangyu. Xu said that "if China could no longer keep secret its mis­sile launches, it would not be able to launch a surprise attack on the US." Chang says that since the beginning of last year, there have been a series of belligerent comments from China's generals , admirals , and colonels, some talking about wa r with the US in the near future.

Will Syria Follow Libya? Syrian leaders have avoided the inflam­matory rhetoric that inspired inter­national condemnation of Libya and the collapse of Moammar Gadhafi's government. But a UN special adviser for carrying out the "Responsibility to ProtecC doctrine believes that pres­sure is mounting on Syria. Countries in the region are hardening their at­titude toward the Syrian government.

Belgium's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Insti­tutional Reforms, Steven Vanackere, said the UN should lead efforts to find a solution for humanity's common problems, a stand echoed by Italy's Foreign Minister, Franco Frattini.

But this proposed federal law is really little more than a Trojan horse, a backdoor attempt by the powers-that-be to inflict a de facto National ID card on the American people, says John W Whitehead of the Rutherford Insti­tute. Anyone who values civil liberties should be alarmed.

Still At Risk Ten Years After 9/11 The President of the Coalition for a Secure Driver's License said that, "A decade after the 9/11 attacks, for­eign terrorists can still easily get IDs through fraud in this country." He said, "Although twenty states have met eighteen or more of the REAL 10 benchmarks, the driver's licenses issued in most states remain vulner­able to fraud and the same loopholes exploited by the 9/11 ter rorists.

Americans Divided Over Sacrificing Civil Liberties According to a new poll, people in America are deeply divided over whether their civil liber ties should be sacrifi ced to fight terrorism. The sur­vey showed that 71 percent supported the use of surveillance cameras in pub­lic places, but fewer than half favored the use of a national ID card. 58 per­cent were in favor of random full-body scans at airports, while 35 percent were in favor of ethnic or racial profil­ing to determine who gets screened. The poll also revealed that nearly half of Americans believe the government should be allowed to read emails sen t outside the US without a warrant, but that drops to under a third fo r emails sent inside the country.

Palestinians Seek UN Membership After the Palestinians' bid to seek fu ll membership at the United Nations, the Quartet of Mideast mediators - the United States, the UN, the European Union and Russia - called for the resumption of talks and a deal within a year. The US said it would veto the request should the Palestinians muster the required nine votes.

Likelihood of Regional War Growing A senior IDP officer is warning of a 'radical Islamic winter' that may lead

to a regional war. "The likelihood of an all-out war is increasingly growing," said IDF Home Front Command Chief, Major General Eyal Eisenberg. There is the possibility of weapons of mass destruction being used, and 25% of lo­cal authorities in Israel are ill prepared to face emergency situations, says Eisenberg.

Jordan's King Calls for Major Push Towards Peace Voicing support for Palestine's efforts to seek full United Nations member­ship, King Abdullah II of Jordan called for a vigorous international push with concrete steps to end the Middle East crisis based on the two-state solution. Libya War is NATO Conquest of Oil According to Russia's ambassador to NATO, Dmitry Rogozin, the war in Libya, led by the western coalition, was an entirely new event. The war was the end-stage of NATO's eastern expansion. From now on, NATO will expand toward its southern borders toward traditional Islamic societies. "In my own opinion it was an oil war," he added. "The West failed to put forth any economic response to the financial crisis. Now they are trying to provide their economies with cheap hydrocar­bons. What makes all of them so keen to spend so much money on a new military campaign? If you say it was to help the Libyan people you will make me laugh," says Rogozin.

started drinking and smoked a little marijuana when I was 13 years old and continued to do so, periodically, throughout high

school. It never really got out of hand or anything. r just did it because that's what my friends were doing. Then I suffered an inj ury. When sports were no longe r an option; I began to find other things to fill my time. That's when I began to drink, smoke weed and cigarettes on a consistent basis . What started out as pee r pressure, turned into a way of suppressing any bad feelings that I had. Unfortunately, it became a habit that lasted into my m id-twenties, while experimenting with cocaine, ecstasy and acid along the way. However, up to this point in my life, the addictions were still some­what controllable.

Then, I met my wife Emily. We were married on September 3,2000 and at the time, r was not aware of her existing drug issues . But, all of that changed while we were on our honey­moon in Jamaica. As soon as we got off the plane, a gentleman approached me selling cocaine. Thinking we could handle it, I purchased some and did it while we were down there. However, when we arrived home, I discovered that Emily was struggling with a meth problem. Needless to say, we started doing meth here and there, and in a couple of years, I had to have it in order to function. During this time, it was normal for me to stay up three days at a time and then sleep for a day. But, at one point I rem ember staying awake for fourteen straight days. At the end of that, I had los t my mind. I got to a point where I was selling drugs just to support my habit, because I couldn't affo rd to buy it anymore. In addition to what we got to keep, we then were probably paying out $700-$SOO per week on drugs.

The drugs destroyed our mar­riage. Our faithfulness was gone. We didn't trust each other. That's on e thing about meth; it makes you not trust anybody. Finally, we lost our car, house, jobs and everything else. When I was finally able to come down for

some time, my self-esteem and self­worth was gone. Emily and I eventu­ally separated, and I lost my kids for a short time. At that point, I was forced to go in for drug testing just to get them back. I started drinking really heavy again. I mean, I drank every day and because of this, was not able to hold a job. I would stay up until 3 or 4 in the morning drinking, so I wouldn't get up until 10 or 11. I attempted some construction work to pay the bills, but r was never able to maintain too much. It was constant. Then I got to where I was doing cocaine again trying to hide from all of the problems. And it was at t his low point in my life, when r was at the very bottom, that God came to my rescue. It was miracle!

In September of 200S, Emily called me from Bryan, Texas, asking me to bring her and the kids' home to Garland. Realizing that she was going through a lot of the same things that r was, I said, "Yes ! ~ I went and picked her up and brought them home. Upon arrival, my father, who had been attending North Cities Church in Gar­land Texas, asked us to attend service the next Sunday morning. But, in my present condition, this was the last thing on my mind.

As fate would have it, Emily wanted to go, and because I loved her, r agreed to attend. The night before we went I said, "Lord, this is it. This is my last chance. I'm going to go tomor­row and you've got to show up and do something or I'm done, because I don't know what else to do.~ When we

walked in the church, 1 immediately felt the presence of God that I never knew existed. It was just unbelievable. I couldn't keep from crying, just from listening to the music. I remember thinking, "Man, r wish they would just hurry up so I could kneel at the a ltar.~ I was just so ready because God was dealing with m e, right there in my seat. It was so strong and power­ful. I thought, "This is what I've been looking for.~ It's kind of funny because Jesus was whispering in one ear while Satan was discouraging me in the other. He asked me, "Well, how are you going to be able to quit smoking cigarettes?" But, after just a little bit I thought, "I don't care about anything; I just wanted more of this." As soon as the altar call came, Emily and I went forward and we felt a love that I can't explain. They prayed for us and we both sobbed, while praying together (a miracle in itself) . 1 remember think­ing, "Oh my goodness. I've never felt anything like this before. No drugs, no alcohol, nothing could fill this void. I am finally at peace!" When I walked back to my seat, I knew something in­side me had changed and that God had touched us in a miraculous way.

Since that day, neither Emily nor I have had any urge to smoke, drink alcohol or do drugs . We got baptized in October '08 and attend that same church to this day. Emily sings in the choir, r now teach Bible studies for the church , and God has called me into the ministry!

I can't help but look back at my life and see the wonderful miracles that God has done for my family. I never dreamed that it was even possible to get our lives turned around. I thought that I would smoke cigarettes until I died. But, 1 went from being addicted to cigarettes , alcohol and drugs to a clean life, overnight! More importan t­ly, God has totally healed my marriage and brought my family together again . Anyone who says it's not possible is wrong. With God, all things are pos­sible, and I'm living proof!

Pastors Unite Against Free Speech Restrictions A regulation added to the IRS code in 1954 created limitations on partisan preaching, causing some leaders to be fearful of federal co nsequences to exercising their right to free speech from the pulpit. As a result, it has led to a decline in church education on issues of great social and political importance. The Speak Up campaign (launched by the Alliance Defense Fund) is working to "protect and pro­mote" the rights of American churches by making faith leaders aware of their constitutional right to free speech. We left Gaza hoping for peace. We didn't freeze the settlements in Gaza . We uprooted them. We did exactly what the theory says: Get out, go back to the 1967 borders, dismantle the settlements . And I don't think people remember how far we went to achieve this. We uprooted thousands of people from their homes. We pull ed children out of their schools and their kinder­gartens. We bulldozed synagogues. We even moved loved ones from their graves. And then, having done all that, we gave the keys of Gaza to President Abbas .

Now the theory says it should all work out, and President Abbas and the Palestinian Authority now could build a peaceful state in Gaza . You can remember that the entire world

applauded. They applauded our with­drawal as an act of great statesman­ship. It was a bold act of peace.

But ladies and gentlemen, we didn't get peace. We got war. We got Iran, which through its proxy Hamas promptly kicked out the Palestinian Authority. The Palestinian Authority collapsed in a day- in one day.

Israel is prepared to have a Pal­estinian state in the West Bank, but we're not prepared to have another Gaza there. And that's why we need to have real security arrangements, which the Palestinians simply refuse to negotiate with us. Without Judea and Samaria (the West Bank), Israel is all of 9 miles wide. Israel needs greater strategic depth, and that's exactly why Security Council Resolution 242 didn't require Israel to leave all the territories it captured in the Six-Day War.

Concerning a Palestinian state, the Palestinians should first make peace with Israel and then get their state. But I also want to tell you this: after such a peace agreement is signed, Israel will not be the last country to welcome a Palestinian state as a new member of the United Nations. We will

be the first. Ladies and gentlemen, last year in

Israel in Bar-Han University, this year in the Knesset and in the US Congress, I laid out my vision for peace in which a demilitarized Palestinian state recog­nizes the Jewish state. Yes, the Jewish state. After all, this is the body that recognized the Jewish state 64 years ago. Now, don't you think it's about time that Palestinians did the same?

President Abbas just stood here and said that the core of the Israeli­Palestinian conflict is the settlements. Well, that's odd. Our conflict was raging for nearly half a century before there was a single Israeli settlement in the West Bank. So if what President Abbas is saying was true, then I guess the settlements he's talking about are Tel Aviv, Haifa, Jaffa, Be 'er Sheva. Maybe that's what he meant the other day when he said that Israel has been occupying Palestinian land for 63 years. He didn't say from 1967; he said from 1948.

The settlements are an issue that has to be addressed and resolved in the course of negotiations. But the core of the conflict has always been and

unfortunately remains the refusal of the Palestinians to recognize a Jew-ish state in any border. I think it's time that the Palestinian leadership recognizes what every serious interna­tionalleader has recognized, from Lord Balfour and Lloyd George in 1917, to President Truman in 1948, to Presi­dent Obama just two days ago right here: Israel is the Jewish state.

President Abbas, stop walking around this issue. Recognize the Jew­ish state, and make peace with us . In such a genuine peace, Israel is prepared to make painful compromises. We believe that the Palestinians should be neither the citizens of Israel nor its subjects.

I often hear them accuse Israel of Judaizing Jerusalem. That's like accusing America of Americanizing Washington, or the British of Angliciz­ing London. You know why we're called "Jews", because we come from Judea?

President Abbas, we've both just flown thousands of miles to New York. Now we're in the same city. We're in the same building. So let's meet here today in the United Nations. Who's there to stop us? What is there to stop us? If we genuinely want peace, what is there to stop us from meeting today and beginning peace negotiations? I'll tell you my needs and concerns. You'll tell me yours. And with God's help, we'll find the common ground of peace.

President Abbas, I extend my hand- the hand of Israel- in peace. I hope that you will grasp that hand." September 23, 2011 The international Quartet issued an invitation to Israelis and Palestinians to renew peace negotiations without pre-conditions. Palestinians have com­plained that negotiations have gone on and on with no results or deadlines. The Quartet in response stated that talks should begin in one month from September 23, 2011. They said the final borders and security measures should be agreed upon by January 23,2012, and that a total agreement should be achieved by December of 2012.

Israel has accepted the Quartet's invitation, but the Palestinians have refused, demanding that all building in the settlements and in East Jerusalem be stopped first. September 24, 2011 Netanyahu stated, "I will be the one

who establishes a peace agreement be­tween two nation-states, one of which will be a demilitarized Palestinian state that recognizes a Jewish state." October 26, 2011 Tony Blair met with the Palestinian representative and the Israeli represen­tative separately. They both agreed to submit a map of borders and details of security arrangements between Is rael and the proposed Palestinian state that they would accept. This is to be done by January 23, 2012. If an agreement could be obtained on final borders, then the settlement controversy would be eliminated. October 31, 2011 UNESCO (United Nations Educational Scien tific Cultural Organization) ac­cepted Palestinians as a full member. Palestinians said they would apply for membership in fifteen or sixteen other UN agencies. The United States,

Canada and Israel responded by with­draWing their funding from UNESCO. This action reduced the agency's income by almost thirty percent. US State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said that, as a result of the vote, the US would not make a $64 million payment to UNESCO sched­uled for later in the year. November 3, 2011 In a surprising reversal, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said that the Pal­estinian Authority should not pursue its plan to be recognized as a member state of the United Nations. Now that the PA has been accepted into UNES­CO, the Authority's leadership should be satisfied with that achievement. Ban, speaking before a meeting of the G20 industrialized nations in Paris, specified the reason for his change of heart; the financial hit the UN took when UNESCO approved the PA's membership. November 4, 2011 Palestinian Authority Foreign Minister Riyad al-Malki said the Palestinians

were not concerned with applying for membership in the rest of the international organizations. He said the official Palestinian position is to concentrate only on the request for full membership in the United Nations. November 8, 2011 The UN Security Council issued a report stating that the Council could not reach consensus to approve the Palestinian application for mem­bership in the United Nations. The Palestinians were unable to obtain the nine votes on the Council necessary for approval. Palestinians had hoped to obtain the necessary votes to force the United States to either accept Pales­tinian membership in the UN or risk isolation by exercising its veto power. November 9, 2011 The Palestinian Authority admit -ted it had failed in its bid for full UN membership. They said they were now

unlikely to call for a vote on the matter in the Security Council. The PA is expected instead to turn to the General Assembly, where it has an automatic majority, and ask that its status be upgraded to that of an observer nation. This would give the Palestin­ians de facto international recognition as a state, even if it does not bestow upon them full-state rights in the international arena.

"Our plan now is to take the battle to the UN General

Assembly, where we are certain to score victory. This will allow us access to many important UN agencies and organizations, including the Interna­tional Criminal Court," a PA official said.

The road ahead The question is not "Will there be a Middle East peace agreement?" It is going to happen. It is prophesied in the Bible, and the prophecies always come to pass. The only question is "When?" More specifically: "Will there be a comprehensive peace agreement concluded by the Quartet's set goal of December 2012?"

With the Palestinians refusing to even sit down at the peace table with Israel. it's hard to envision events moving rapidly enough to settle all outstanding issues by December of 2012. Talks have actually dragged on since September 13, 1993. Why should we expect an unprecedented break­through to happen within the next twelve months?

Could a major crisis create the right conditions? Some observers believe it will take a major global crisis to finally generate the political will to achieve the long­sought Middle East peace agreement. Is such a worldwide crisis on the horizon?

There is another major prophecy in the Bible that runs parallel with the prophecy about the Middle East peace agreement. Revelation 9:13-15 proph­esies a war that will kill one-third of mankind. This prophecy will most likely come to pass just before the con­clusion of the Middle East peace agree­ment. Imagine one person out of three annihilated off the face of the earth in a horrible nuclear holocaust! Would an apocalyptic war of this magnitude be enough to motivate the nations of the world to finally demand that Israelis and Palestinians agree to terms of peace? We know from the prophecy that this war is coming. It seems very likely that this catastrophe will be the crisis that finally drives the parties of the Middle East to the prophesied peace agreement.

Are conditions right for the Revelation 9 war? The prophesied war will begin from the area of the Euphrates River. The

Euphrates begins in Turkey, flows through Syria, and then travels all the way through the nation of Iraq. It finally empties into the Persian Gulf just along the border of Iran.

At this present time, there are disputes simmering up and down t he Euphrates River Basin. Syria is in tur­moil; Iraq is in transition as the United States prepares to leave. Iran is the target of international sanctions be­cause it continues to pursue its nuclear development. Both Israel and the US have said they will not allow Iran to obtain nuclear weapons and will resort to all necessary means to prevent it. The British government recently informed its senior ministers that Israel is expected to attack Iran around Christmas 2011 or in the beginning of 2012. Iran has said repeatedly that, if Israel or the US does attack her, it will trigger World War III.

However, when World War III begins, the result will be the killing of one-third of mankind. This war could certainly create the conditions for the World Community to demand a peace agreement between Palestinians and Israelis.

So will the Middle East peace be achieved by December of 2012? Will World War III happen before the peace agreement is concluded or afterwards?
