Un-Idiotic uses for I-cord I-CORD BORDER In this sample you will create a garter stitch sample with an i-cord border on each side. CO 10 stitches. ROW 1: Knit 7 stitches. Yarn Forward, Slip last 3 stitches purlwise (tip to tip). Turn Work. ROW 2: Repeat Row 1. (hint: Knit the 1st stitch normal tension, place needle in 2nd stitch and tighten working yarn to draw up i-cord strand a bit.) I-CORD CAST-OFF CO 2 stitches at beginning of RS row. *Knit 2 stitches, SLIP the 3rd stitch (as if to knit), knit 4th stitch, pass slipped stitch over. Place last 3 stitches back onto left needle and repeat* Repeat until only 3 stitches remain. K3tog. I-CORD CAST-ON CO 3 stitches. Keep Calm and Knit these 3 stitches. SLIP these 3 stitches back to Left needle. *M1 in the 1st stitch. K2. (M1 by knitting into the right hand shawl below the stitch and then knitting the stitch as normal) SLIP last 3 sts from Right needle to Left. Repeat* I-CORD TUBE (on dpns) CO 3 stitches. Row 1: Knit 3. SLIDE stitches to opposite end of needle. Do not turn work. Row 2: Keeping yarn in back. Knit 3.
