    Greece.ThenheenteredTurkey.AfterthishedefeatedDariusofPersia,entered

    Syria,moved to Jerusalem and then Babylon and Egypt and India. In India he

    foughtKingPorusandfoundedthecityofPhaliainmemoryofhisfavoritehorse.

    HestartedhisreturnthroughMakran.Hecontactedtyphoidonhiswaybackand

    diedintheyear323B.C.attheageof33inthepalaceofBakhtNasr.

    Wehavebeen told thathewasagreatgeneral, conquerorandking inhuman

    historyandwasgiventhetitleofAlexander,theGreat.WemadehimSikander

    Azam, the king of kings. But, today, on the first day of the ninth year of the

    twentyfirst century, I question all the historians of the world if Alexander

    deservesthistitlewhenwehaveUmarFarooq(rh).Iinviteallthehistoriansofthe

    world tocompare theconquestsand theachievementsofAlexanderandUmar

    Farooq(rh).

    Please compare.Alexanderwas the sonofaking thebest instructors taught

    himhowtorideahorse,hehadtutorslikeAristotleandwasofferedthethroneat

    theageoftwenty.Ontheotherhand,UmarFarooq (rh)didnothaveanyroyal

    ancestoreveninhissevenpreviousgenerations,grewupmindingherdsofgoats

    andsheepandhadnotgottrainedintheartofwarfromanyone.Alexanderhad

    conquered1.7millionsquaremilesoflandintenyearswithanorganizedarmy

    Umar Farooq (rh), in ten years, conquered 2.2 million square miles of land

    includingtheRomanandPersiansuperpowerswithanunorganizedarmy.Even

    inthese

    days

    of

    satellites

    and

    missiles

    and

    submarines,

    no

    ruler

    has

    adomain

    as

    vastasthatofUmar(rh)whichhehadnotonlygotconqueredonmerehorseback

    buthadalsomanagedandruledit.Alexandergotmanyofhisowngeneralskilled

    during his conquests, many generals and soldiers deserted him, there were

    rebellions against him and his army even refused to proceed in India, but no

    companion of Umar (rh) ever had the courage to disobey him. He was the

    commanderwhodeposedthestrongestgeneralof Islam,KhalidbinWaleed(rh)

    rightinthebattlegroundandnoonedaredtodisobey.HeremovedSaadbinAbi

    Waqas(rh)fromthegovernorshipofKufa,firedHarithbinKaab(rh)asagovernor,

    confiscatedthewealthofAmrobinalAas(rh)andrecalledthegovernorofHamas

    andassignedhimtograzingthecamels.Noonedaredtodisobey.

    Alexander conquered 1.7million squaremiles of land but could not give any

    systemtotheworld,whereasUmar(rh)gavesuchsystemsasarestillprevalent

    theworld over.He added the phrase prayer is better than sleep to the Fajr

    azaan, the taravih prayerswere formally initiatedduring his rule,he instituted

    punishmentfor

    the

    consumption

    of

    liquor,

    started

    the

    Hijra

    system

    of

    accounting

    fordates,gavetheconceptofthejail,fixedsalariesforthemuezzins,arrangedfor

    lightinthemasjids,formedthedepartmentofthepolice,laidthefoundationsfor

    a complete system for the delivery of justice, got the irrigation system

    implementedandestablishedmilitarycantonmentsand the formalarmy.Umar

    (rh), for the first time ever in theworld, granted stipends for the infants, the

    handicapped,widowsandthehelpless.Hewasthefirstevertogivetheconcept

    ofthedeclarationofassetsbytherulers,thegovernmentofficialsandthe rich.

    Heestablished

    the

    institution

    of

    punishing

    the

    judges

    who

    misdelivered

    justice.

    He,forthefirsttime,madetherulersaccountable.Heusedtoprotectthetrade

    caravansatnight.Heusedtosaythatrulerswhodeliverjustice,sleepfearlesslyat

    night.Hissayingisthattheleaderofthenationisactuallyitsservant.Hisstamp

    readUmar,deathisenoughofanadmonition.Heneverhadtwodishesonhis

    table.Heusedtogotosleepwithabrickasapillow.Whiletravelling,hewould

    giventhetitleAmeerulMomineen.

    Everyreligionoftheworldhasaspecialcharacteristic,thespecialcharacteristicof

    Islamisjustice,andUmar(rh)isonewhomakesthistrue.Hisjusticegaveriseto

    thetermadleFarooqui(thejusticeofFarooq).Hewasindebtwhenmartyred

    andhisloanwaspaidoffbysellinghisonlypropertyaccordingtohiswill.Hewas

    theonly rulerever toadmit thateven ifadogdiedofhungeron thebankson

    riverTigris

    during

    his

    rule,

    he

    would

    have

    to

    bear

    the

    punishment

    for

    this.

    His

    justicewassuchthatwhenhedied,aherdsmancamerunninginafarofflandin

    hisdomain shouting men,Umarhasdied.Peopleaskedhim inastonishment

    methatUmarisnomore.

    I inviteallthehistoriansoftheworldtoplaceAlexanderbeforeUmar(rh).They

    will find Alexander to be a gravel in front of amountain because the empire

    foundedbyAlexandervanishedjustfiveyearsafterhisdeathwhereastheareas

    whereUmar(rh)plantedtheflagofIslamstillechowiththesoundofAllahisthe

    accepts

    Umar (rh) as TheGreat and acknowledged him to be the biggest Sikandar

    ever,exceptforthoseMuslimswho,intheirdeepsenseofinferiority,lookaround

    infearevenwhenrecitingthewordsoffaith.

    TheMuslimsofLahorehadoncedaredtheEnglishthatiftheyoncedecidedtoact,

    theywillremindthemofChangezKhan.UponthisJawaharlalNehruhadsmiled

    and said that sadly theseMuslims citing the example of Changez Khan had

    forgottenthat

    there

    was

    an

    Umar

    (rh)

    also

    in

    their

    history.

    We are also forgetting today that among uswas oneUmar Farooq (rh) about

    whomtheProphet(pbuh)hadsaidthatiftherecouldbeaprophetafterhim,he

    wouldhavebeenUmar(rh).
