FocusThe focus of this conference is to provide instruction in the routine and unique applications of ultrasound in the cancer patient. Presentations, both didactic and practical workshops, will cover a range of organ systems involving a variety of cancers with their respective diagnoses, management, complications and outcomes. Physicians and sonographers will also have an opportunity to participate in hands-on demonstrations on state-of-the-art ultrasound equipment, as well as to interact directly with the faculty.

Educational ObjectivesAt the conclusion of this educational activity, participants should be able to

• performahigh-qualitydiagnosticultrasoundexaminationofmultiple organ systems and improve sonographic technique accordingly (knowledge, competence, performance, patient outcomes);

• identifyandcharacterizesonographicfindingsofcriticalentities in the various organ systems (knowledge, competence, performance, patient outcomes);

• describetechnicalanddiagnosticpitfallsandcorrectiveactions (knowledge, competence, performance, patient outcomes);

• identifyurgentfindingsthatrequireimmediateclinicalintervention (knowledge, competence, performance, patient outcomes); and

• discussthenewtechnologiesandinnovationsinultrasoundand their clinical applications (knowledge).
